I was researching past articles from bizaisa.co.uk apropos Gulaal and espied two. The two articles, one from March, the other May, alleged that Star Plus was canceling Gulaal.

The two articles also citied Star Plus as a source. However, Gulaal did not end in March or in June.

Therefore, I repudiate any claim made by Bizasia.co.uk concerning Gulaal.

Hence, I ask you dear readers: Have there been any other articles about Gulaal recently? Other than the "They will be coming closer" article, which I've already read. Or any other proof?

Thanks!

PS: I don't Gulaal to end!!!!!! Lol. I commenced watching right after the leap and have loved every moment (well almost) :D

I really want to hope based on these articles but it seems that the reason Gulaal didn't end in June end or July is cuz Diya Baati got delayed...What surprises me though is that never even once in the show did it seem like the story was changed or extended based on the deadline extending...the show itself doesn't give any indication storyline wise of being rushed suddenly or dragged suddenly...so I don't know how all this was worked out.

And now it seems that the promos for Diya Baati are out...and this latest article actually has a concrete date for Gulaal's last epi too :((...I don't know what to think...only hope possible seems to be a timeslot change...

Unless Gulaal miraculously enters the top 10, I doubt SP will give a damn about the show :(

They're so heartless!

I think if SP team has decided on the chop - even top 10 may not change it... well, unless time slot change happens.

To share your opinion Nur - I too wondered about how the story doesn't look like its been a revived ghost of an original story line at any point, which sort of contradicts the old claims on its being in dangerzone... but then Gulaal as a show has always looked like their overall story line was preset (not to forget they are inspired in over all concept from that book/movie ek chaadar maili si ) so maybe when those rumors were floating there was internal talk between channel and show and they knew they wouldn't be going off air just like that and continued with their original plans? I'm truly hoping their original plans included something like the situation we have at hand now, and that if this show really is closing shop - its because the CVs and channel have an understanding that their story needs just about this much time and space... it seems like too much to sort out in less than a month - but if this is not an unexpected call to the CVs, maybe this was something along the lines of their original plan too? These last few days certainly don't look hastened after the 'news'... so!

Guys come calm down, right this is all speculation no actual prove has been provided about Gulaal ending. If the ends fine and if doesn't that will be great so let just wait and watch. Gulaal trp has gone to up so maybe SP will just change there time slot. Look at what SP is doing for Dor instead of canceling for low trp, they've decide to revamp the show.

All I can say is expect the worst and pray for the best.

@bold: I'm guessing that's probably it, Jzee...that maybe they've been giving general feelers since a while and since they've had such a solid long term planning about this story anyways, they haven't had to deviate or take sudden detours into random storyline directions much...they've stuck to the basic path...the way this story has shaped up, it is expected that it would have a definite end anyways but maybe like you said, the channel and the creatives had some understanding of where all they could add in time and space...but even then I honestly never got that feel with the show...it truly amazes me...cuz like EVERY show out there drags in THE most retarded manner from time to time...but never with this show...yeah some epis may not have what we want to see the most...i.e. KG...but every epi has had a purpose! I'm in awe!

So if they did have this planned long term, maybe they have a solid game plan for the last 20 epis too...so let's see which all threads are tied up and which aren't...obviously KG will reunite...and hopefully with full justice to their tremendously epic build up...let's see what other mysteries/threads they wrap up too.

There no expressing enough of awe for this show - all the more given its a daily soap which makes it inevitably prone to a lot of other outside deterring factors that we all know about! But I've said this about Paki dramas tons of times - that the one reason they do and look better than most Indian soaps is because they mostly have an outside storyline chalked out at the very beginning. It keeps things from going astray even as a daily drama - provided something ridiculous like a show coming off air in a month cannot happen! In general, a basic story line already in place was hugely responsible for yrf shows like R.com too. I haven't seen the others, so i don't know about them, but Rishta had a pre set story as Shruti told her fans, because her brother spent months on the script before going out to make a show of it!

And so, Gulaal has looked like they have a very good idea of what they're doing, where they are going. Tons of times, in majorly successful fictional works worldwide - all kinds - when a drama becomes to get high strung on multiple ends - it in fact is headed for a culmination. Not something we can say about Indian shows in general of course - because their high drama (usually one at a time *rolls eyes*) is mostly about getting TRPs and staying on air. But the way Gulaal is beginning to gather the spreads, and sort of blow up on all its seams does seem like the kind of pre conclusion climax rise which tons of fiction will use as a literary tool - which is why most books/movies (if well done and justified) are best in their absolute ends! So while too many open ends make us doubt about where this is heading and how they can shut down at it (a theory which influences us mostly, again, because that's Indian TV works) it may well actually be a thoughtful buildup from the CVs rapidly approaching a mega showdown and then the ultimate end. [Of course, not the way I was thinking when we had the breaking news, lol! It shocked me out of any logic 😆 ]

I suppose its best to live with that idea anyway. It is true about many-a-good-fiction. And Gulaal certainly falls in line with that category! Plus, like I said before, nothing seems hastened or missed out these last couple days after we've heard the news. I've rarely seen an ME for any show of that quality. Usually, as we all know, ME's are only about raising TRPs!

Honestly Jzee, shows like Rishta.com or most of the YRF shows just fall in a whole different genre...they are expected to be pre-planned well in advance with a storyline very much in place even before they start shooting for the show...they plan everything keeping in mind the finite number of episodes they know they will have to begin with...

A show like Gulaal...which is a daily soap has to deal with a whole host of other pressures from the channel, the usual TRP audience etc...and to manage to maintain quality despite all THAT is a true marvel to me. I wouldn't even compare or put it in the same league as R.com cuz I just view them in a very separate space from each other. Even R.com was a rare thing among YRF show most of which are honestly still quite mediocre script-wise...R.com was the only show with a strong script cuz obviously Rishab Seth spent so much time working on it in advance.

As for Gulaal...so far, I haven't seen any haste in the epis either...the story seems to be unfolding at the right kind of pace as is the usual case with this show...so hoping that the quality is maintained till the very end, if that end is indeed supposed to be Aug 19th. If they've managed to stay the course for so long, what's one more month? The story, these characters deserve their due in the time they have. I hope they live up to the faith we've had in them given the amazing quality they've shown us throughout the course of this show :-)
