Still I would say that an adult kid marriage is a plain wrong thing and the show was also against it and so DV was made to break.Gulaal never considered Kesar as her son and this is crystal clear in the show. Even though Gulaal mothered him in a sense,they were not sharing a mother son bond. Mothering is a process that even a wife can do it to her husband. Woman, being a woman will be having traces of that manner in each and every relations she share for, a friend, sibbling, husband...and obviously in an adult kid relation which is entirely different from an actual mother-son relation, like Paanba-Kesar, Sudha-Thalli Jamuna-Dushyanth-Raman...

or else Gulaal could have easily gone and hug kesar just like paanba/rewa would have done but she couldnt or either she wont feel awkward when Kesar accidently hugged her on the terrace scene where a mother/sister would never.
