Kesar asks Mota Bha how can he make such a promise that he will remain faithful to Talli, then he will have to remain faithful to his first wife too, and everyone knows that his first marriage already took place and everyone knows that Gulaal is his wife. Mota Bha says Gulaal is not his wife, Kesar asks him then what is she. Sudha gets exasperated and asks Kesar what wife, everyone knows that it was just a ritual. Kesar asks her for who was it just a ritual, and why should all this happen just to him. Paan Baa tells him that there is no value for that deeyarvattu, since it happened when he was just a 12 years old kid. Kesar smiles in sarcasm and exclaims, just a 12 year old kid, did not know the meaning of marriage, that is why without asking or telling him he was tied into that relationship. Why didn't anyone say then that he is just a 12 year old kid and doesn't understand the meaning of marriage, not to tie him to this relationship. Gulaal feels very bad and has tears.

Kesar says that he knows he is doing a wrong thing by agreeing to marry Talli and coming all the way and saying all this now, but it would be even more wrong if he had gone ahead with the marriage, because if he gave a promise now, it would be a lie. He says this looking at Talli, who is crying. Gulaal comes forward and tells Kesar that the deeyarvattu has no meaning, and if it is preventing him from moving forward then she releases him from that relationship. Kesar's expression hardens. Kesar looks hurt and tells her wow Gulaal, she didn't ask him while doing the deeyarvattu and now while breaking it again she didn't ask him. It looks like Mota Bha understands Kesar's point of view. Kesar asks Gulaal to put herself in his place for once and think whether he would forget so easily that she is his wife. Talli is furious hearing this.

Kesar continues, would he really forget that deeyarvattu so easily, no way, he was very little when she bound him to her by this relationship, this is now inherent in his life, he has grown up feeling that she is his wife. Gulaal is shocked. Kesar says that before his time he was bound by deeyarvattu, then raises his voice and says that now he is being told to forget the deeyarvattu, as if he is a puppet. He tells Gulaal, truth also hers, lies also hers, all the decisions are also hers. Kesar tells her that neither will he let her take this decision, nor will he stand here and make false promises. He tells Gulaal firmly that this deeyarvattu cannot break. Everyone is surprised except Jamna who is happy. Talli breaks the bond that Gulaal had tied between her and Kesar's scarf and runs and cries.

Gulaal looks horrifying as if her eyes will pop out of her head any minute, and says that whatever she did, why she did it, everyone knows, her intentions were not bad, now panchayat will decide about this. (I absolutely hate Gulaal. Kesar should tell her to marry Talli, both can live happily every after, while he finds someone who really deserves him. Gulaal doesn't value him or his feelings at all). Gulaal continues that whether there is any value or not, now she will break this deeyarvattu in front of everyone. Kesar asks her what will she achieve by going to the panchayat, because even there his thoughts and decision will remain the same. (What is Gulaal trying to do, force him to marry Talli? Ugh, I am totally disgusted with her). Kesar continues that even if she breaks the deeyarvattu in front of everyone what will change, on the panchayat's decision the ritual may break but not his thinking. He tells her that he never realized when his wearing Vasant's shoes became a burden for Gulaal's feet, and today she is saying that she is not his wife.

He looks at everyone and says that since he has returned to the house, some people say that Gulaal is his wife, while others say that he should marry someone else because the deeyarvattu has no value. On one hand Gulaal tells him to marry Talli, on the other hand she herself does vad savitri fast for him. He says that for a moment if he believes that the deeyarvattu is useless and Gulaal is not his wife, then will someone else tell him that after all what exactly is his relationship with Gulaal. He says this last part firmly and assertively. Everyone looks shocked. Kesar demands to know from everyone and asks them why are they quiet now, what exactly is his relationship with Gulaal.

Poonam is praying to the Goddess and saying that Kesar and Gulaal share the relationship of husband and wife, she pleads with the Goddess to not let that break, she has no enmity with Talli but as a mother she cannot see her daughter ruin her own life, how could everyone agree to this marriage, but she knows that this should not happen to her Gulaal, Poonam has given up, she cries and pleads with the Goddess to help her.

Jamna says that there is no point in being quiet, Kesar's question has to be answered. Kesar says that he doesn't think these people will give him an answer since they themselves don't know it. Talli is weeping, Sudha and Chunni are consoling her. Kesar goes to her, folds his hands, and tells her to forgive him, and leaves.

Gulaal is in her room sitting in the dark. Jamna comes there and tells her to finish crying because these tears are in her destiny. She asks her to remember when Jamna cried because Gulaal left Dushyant and did deeyarvattu with Kesar. Jamna has tears while saying this, and continues that her Dushyant is alone even today, Gulaal made this decision and caused a mother pain, and now it has backfired. She asks Gulaal to cry to her heart's content because this is her punishment. Gulaal probably looks back and regrets everything.

Kesar is sitting outside on the swing and flashbacks to Gulaal's words about freeing him from the deeyarvattu. He flashbacks to all the times he was happy with her, and then her words about panchayat. Mota Bha comes and kindly tells Kesar that he doesn't know under what circumstances Kesar took this decision, only Kesar knows, but he expects that Kesar would at least understand why he did this, this decision affects two other lives along with his, why did he do this. Mota Bha asks who he wants to punish, Talli or Gulaal. Kesar looks at him shocked and hurt. Mota Bha asks him to tell the truth, did he break the marriage with Talli because he thought that Gulaal is his wife, does Kesar want to keep a husband-wife relationship with Gulaal. Its as if Mota Bha wants Kesar to tell him that he wants Gulaal to be his wife. He tells Kesar that he needs to learn to find a solution to difficult situations in life, being his father he can tell by looking at Kesar's face that he took this decision without thinking deeply. He asks Kesar to take every decision in future after a lot of thought about what impact it will have on him and others.

After Mota Bha leaves, Kesar tells himself that Mota Bha is right, he himself doesn't know why he is doing this and what he is doing, is it because he hates Gulaal or likes her, does he want to punish her or be with her, he doesn't understand anything. He removes his coin and tells it that this is the biggest decision of his life, the coin should tell him what to do just like it always tells what is inside Kesar. Tails means he is doing this because he hates Gulaal, if heads then he doesn't want to stay away from Gulaal. He flips the coin and sees what it is.

Kesar is sleeping, Paan Baa asks him to get ready soon, they all need to go to the panchayat, Gulaal has called the panchayat to break the deeyarvattu. Kesar is shocked, Paan Baa says that now the decision will be taken by the panchayat, now they have to see this day. After Paan Baa leaves, Raman comes there. He tells Kesar that he doesn't know these people, they can go to any lengths to remove Kesar from their way, he did a good thing by breaking all their plans. He says a dialogue that means that if a lover is the police then one need not worry, and tells Kesar that Dushyant is the head of the panchayat, so the decision will be in Gulaal's hands.

Precap: Talli tells Sudha crying that by joining one can enter a relationship but not in one's heart. Sudha says this is not about a relationship, this is about Talli's respect, about Kesar's betrayal, Gulaal's false promise. Talli refuses but Sudha insists that she wants nothing but justice for Talli.

I cannot feel any remorse for Talli nor do I dislike Sudha, because my intense hatred and disgust for Gulaal overshadows all these other emotions. I am so sick of her being so insensitive to Kesar's feelings, she just does not give a damn about him, its so annoying. She always remains in denial. I was watching some old episodes yesterday and she refused to come to terms with Vasant's death. She was in total denial, when Kesar goes to her room and knocks loudly for her to open the door, he could see how much in denial she was, and even though the little kid accepted Vasant's death Gulaal could not let it go. I understand that part, but it sheds light on her character that she will do anything to hold onto her fantasy world, probably because she has enablers around her (Paan Baa, Mota Bha) and it keeps her from being lonely after Vasant died.

Thanks and well said,

Frankly in todays world where divorce rates are just as high as marriage (my close friend is going through a painful divorce after just 1.5 years of marriage), all that the serial is showing seems a fantasy and a joke.
Anyways, sometimes I feel, if I were Kesar I would marry Talli...in life sometimes its important to be with people who love you and care for you, rather than running after people who don't give a dammn and treat you like a commodity.
