if u ask me the very institution of marriage is flawed one. ok out of the show and to the real life.
in an arranged marriage even thoh the so called factors are "right" here.... age, no property dispute etc etc ........ and yet so many things are just so wrong. like treating the bahu as property, not caring about her wishes, welfare, snide comments and remarks to her and her family, ego tussels, restricting her movements, imposing their desires ....... also umpteen rituals which are simply loaded in the favour of the ladka walas.
i have found myself wondering so many times ... if woman and man are compliemntry why is this ritual so skwed.
anyway ds that make love marriage a perfect institution? it may apepar so from afar ..... yet distortions can creep in there too. so traditions are like rules passed in parliament .. most have good premise but are distorted along the way.
eventually property disputes do arise in almost eevry family ........ while it seems wrong to marry the woman just in name of property .. apparently this tadition is nto merely about it.
now comign to the show ..... gulaal was left with a choice ....... to leave the house and go.technically since the husband is dead she dsnt have any stake in the house anyway. sicne she chose to live in the house .... she had to marry her devar. i guess the tradition actually helped her here .

to clarify your question, i watch the show, purely because of mansi parekh and dushyant...they are amazing actors and do their role great justice...i now, because of show understand devarvatu and it would be perfectly normal for gulaal to fall inlove with kesar, once she accepts that vasant is gone for good, and she cannot continue to live in the past.
i was not in favour of or against kesar and gulaal. i just have a hard time accepting...them, not because of age and i believe they have great chemistry and watched lamhe and loved it...watched a live example of woman marrying man 20 years younger and happily married 25 years later...i dont like putting talli down, she is still young and immature, as her character portrayed plus a young naive actor.
the reason i am having a hard time is that she is still too much in love with vasant and his ghost and did it to keep her promise to him to keep the family together...has to change her view from vasant to herself and then to kesar dushant or Mr. X...i think dushyant respects her and puts her on a pedestral, and his own conscious is punishing him daily just like the protagonist in crime and punishment by dosteovsky and he will end up going to police one of these days so he can sleep better.
how i spend my free time is my choice right...the objective of the forum is a healthy exchange of ideas and viewpoints,...not act as if we are in a betting pool or racecourse...
we can agree to disagree and that should be perfectly normal and acceptable in discussion forums...and we are all entitled to our viewpoints, right.? i love the show and we cannot control our own destiny, how can we control the destiny of an actress in an india serial...let the CVs have that pleasure but I do love the drama, incl. talli for the funny sad interludes. life has not dealt her a fair hand, and she still has that crush on kesar...we can control our actions way better than our emotions...!

Hi prernacda
I loved your post...and support you on the points highlighted in bold.
I have been saying all along...I am all for Gul+Kes...so long as its now a story of two adults falling in love.,...
not becaused they are married...coz even if it is so called tradition...I think Devarvatu, when used to marry children...is inacceptable...and downright their abuse...no matter what the provocation to do this would have been.
As for your views, you are on a free website, and are entitled to your opinion😊...dont be apologetic for airing them...I have been on IF for long as a silent reader and feel that over here people seem to be very quick at dishing criticism...but sensitiev when their view points are met with an alternative thought...the way I deal with it is not get into arguments...coz honestly why argue over a TV serial😳
But you are welcome here and I would love to interact with you...😊
Have a good day/ evening
