Just wanted to say a few things about Neil and his portrayal of Kesar.
Full disclosure: I stopped watching Gulaal after the Deeyarvatu and when they announced the leap I was rather hoping Rahil would come back. They've chosen to cast Neil whom I liked in Karol Bagh, so I was disappointed but excited anyway.

Now based on these few epis, I have to say he's doing a superb job. Look at his face when he eats that dish Gulaal's made for him - nostalgia, longing all captured in one close of the eyes. And again when he's just been mean to Gulaal and then finds out she hasn't eaten, waiting for him, that quick turn of the head, a couple of furious blinks because he's so moved.... fabulous.

I suppose good actors would kill for a role like this, with tons of backstory and character dynamics already established. And good to see that the leap seems to have galvanised the audience, at least going by this forum. When Gulaal started, we struggled to get five reponses on a thread, and now there are long 10-page debates 😊.
I hope the CVs keep it going.

I like Neil too, I've never watched any of his shows before, but I am really impressed so far with how he portrays kesar's character. He's got good chemistry with all the rest of the cast as well, which is a bonus.
I wasn't disappointed that they didn't bring rahil in as kesar, because I want him back as vasant! Still I don't know if he will ever come back, but I'm pretty show if they do with neil as the adult kesar, the scenes between kesar and vasant will be electrifying!

He's been brilliant from the word GO! I was so anxious to see whether the older Kesar will able to carry on the flawless work of Ali Haji but Neil has actually surpassed my expectations. I loved his surprised reaction when he realised Gulaal hadn't eaten anything. He's a very gifted actor!

I am liking Neil too. He has this body language that speaks for itself apart from his eyes and dialogues. Neil is potraying Kesar's confusion, determination, anger, affection and vulnerability really well.
As someone mentioned, Kesar has become an adult but is still behaving like a child to some extent. I liked how he came to his ownself for a little bit and smiled after Gulaal played his own coin trick on him..

I have never ever doubted Neil's acting capabilities. The minute they announced his name for Kesar I knew the casting was just perfect. In fact Neil many times himself has said in not so many words that he was looking for a challenging role to play after KB.. even one that had shades of grey. I have to say I am so happy for him to have landed such a role that shows him in various shades. He is one daring actor and not afraid to explore at all. So young yet so talented . Your fans have already recognized your talent in KB, now my only wish is that you make millions of them cause you deserve it. GO ROCK NEIL. !!!! I am your fan for life Neil.😆😆

One other great thing about Neil in all his interviews he comes across as such a humble down to earth person. Has a firm head on his shoulders and very intelligent. I am proud to be his fan.
