WOW! Well I see some helluva characters analysis done here. I have to say that many of you right on! Well, i'm VERY new to forum, and the only reason i joined this was because I LOVE GULAAL, and i love NEIL BHATT even more! 😍 haha! well, who doesn't?
actually i wanted to point one thing i just noticed about the show. i noticed that there has been a pattern in the whole show of breaking norms (more like bending them). first it was the two star-crossed heroes gulaal and vasant who married each other, before which they were forbidden lovers. that was the first time they bent rules, cleared all confusion and enmity between the villages to suit themselves.
then came gulaal saving talsagrah even when they didn't approve of her presence in their village. that's another one when she bent the rules just to save the village. the villagers couldn't do anything because they needed her.
after that, the VERY UNUSUAL (but still acceptable) deeyarvattu of gulaal with kesar. again gulaal bent rules as she stated that the relationship between kesar and herself is that of bhabhi-devar and thus the relationship is acceptable. shashtras never mentioned age limit as far as that custom is considered. the villagers couldn't do anything but accept the relationship.
then when she found out about dushyant killing vasant, she didn't punish him (as she would have been expected to) because she remembered her promise to vasant to keep their family together. that was another instance when she defied social norms.
the reason why this story stands out of the crowd is because of two of its main themes LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES (star-crossed lovers gulaal and vasant and hopefully kesar-gulaal) and BENDING RULES AND FINDING THOSE LOOPHOLES IN THOSE SOCIAL CUSTOMS THAT SOCIETY HAS FORCED ON EVERYONE.
If this is the case then i think we can all predict what can happen next if we also take into consideration the foreshadowing in some of previous episodes.
first, the panditji clearly stated that gulaal's first relationship will be broken. since even the panditji knew that she loves vasant very much and that there could possibly be any human-caused reason that their relationship would break, thus leaving him with the only option of death, which is why he gives her a taveez to protect him. the panditji also said that she would very soon after that have a second marriage in which her second husband would be the one who would be her support. therefore, i can't imagine why anyone would root for vasant's return. as far as gulaal's married life is concerned, the guruji only stated 2 marriages, therefore leaving me with little hope of vasant's return.
second, the krishna leela episode. i don't need to point out the significance of the roles they were appointed. kesar as kanha, talli as radha and gulaal as rukmini. according to what i have read, what krishna had for radha and the other gopis was cosmic love. he definitely loved radha because she was one of his greatest bhakta. his love for radha what is termed as cosmic love. he married rukmini instead of radha because radha was already married to someone else. and rukmini was his soulmate, lakshmi. when motabha expects kesar to break his and gulaal's marriage as he would be expected to grow up loving talli (or someone else), again, the story would defy all boundaries and do the unexpected, that is, the marriage of kesar and gulaal would remain strong as ever. kesar and gulaal were meant to be since day 1 as many of you have pointed out already.
trust me when i quote what others have already mentioned that this would be no ordinary love story. this love story would continue to stand out in the crowd.
well, if the writers of the story are reading this, then i think they should considering making kesar read the notebook in which gulaal wrote to vasant. and then his anger could calm down and i can't wait to see them finally be TOGETHER together. 😊 haha! oh, the power of wishful thinking! :D
