hey im amrita and im relatively new to this forum and i decided to finally comment on the ongoing speculation over kesar and gulaal. I rewatched the earlier episodes and in one episode the joshi or pandit read gulaal's future basically and he said that she was destined to be married twice. He said that her first husband would leave her which makes sense because vasant died so he technically did leave her and she would stay with her second husband which is kesar. So the kesar and gulaal jodi has been set since the beginning of the show. So in a sense kesar and gulaal were destined to be together but the twist is the age. So this is no ordinary love story...this is a love story that fortells that love has no age bounds. Rewatching the series from the beginning has made me see the subtle hints of the future between kesar and gulaal, vasant was simply a path to connect gulaal with kesar.
I think that this love story is very sweet and interesting because forbidden and impossible love stories always seem to intrigue me ❤️

HI Amrita I am Naina, can you tell me in which episode this scene with the panditji was there. I am dying to see it. I have just started watching this show because I am die-hard Neil Bhatt fan. Have seen some of the past episoded to see the chemistry of Gulaal and Vasant, but probably missed this panditji scene.
A Love story as such is pathbreaking . I just cant wait for the story to move forward. Yes age gap is there also the stigma of marrying your own brothers wife, but just as you said there have been hints all along that Kesar -Gulaal were destined to be together. I think we have a great love story in the making , that will completely break the barriers of all societal norms. Just hope it moves in that direction.

See if i look at how the whole story has shaped up if i was reading this on paper, that yes Kesar-Gulaal were destined and link to them was Vasant.....
Even now i see and think Kesar-Gulaal are meant to be together (with what kind of bond they have)
Didnt is say that her second husband will be her saviour, her support etc
I dont know how that can break - esp if it meant Kesar-Gul coming together from such a unusual situation - the link has been Vasant

No, sorry I'm sure the pandit said gulaal would have two relationships/marriages in her life. The first one would have danger hovering over it and the other would be safe .I'm certain he said nothing about her first husband leaving her. Also as he said nothing in regards to the fact that her first husband would actually die, I think vasant might still come back. (Something I'm not so secretly rooting for lol!)
I also don't not agree with the whole kesar/gulaal love story, and its not because of the age gap nor fact that he's her first husbands brother, but because in earlier episodes she happily accepts responsibilty over him (kesar) as a second mother. And I'm sorry showing a love story between a an grown woman and her recently returned 'surrogate' son is just plain gross.

The age gap, the practice of finding love through a second marriage or through a practiced custom of Deetar Vattu is not a problem in accepting Kesar and Gulaal relationship.
Like Suki says, the earlier episodes showed Gulaal taking up responsibility of Kesar to protect him as a second mother. Also, one of the chararcters(I still have not learnt about all characters) speaks to Paanba. When Paanba questions the future of this relationship following Gulaal's marriage to Kesar, she promises that the relationship would remain as sacred as it is now and that she herself would find her Devrani when the time comes. After the same episode, she protects him from sunlight and walks him in.
One of the characters tries to ease Paanba's concern and tells her...
Gulaal would have thoughtfully taken a decision. When you see Gulaal alone, treat her as Vasant's wife and when you find Kesar and Gulaal together, view it as a maa-bete ka rishta. This would be the best solution for you.....
Gulaal has been portrayed as a strong woman who seems to have utilised a practice (Deyer Vattu) to her benefit. I remember that episode where they tell her...You have sworn your love (for Vasant) at the same time behaved responsibly(for Kesar).
Having been introduced to such statements and going by the characterisation of Gulaal, it seems improbable that she develops any feelings for Kesar. As for Kesar, he has not yet defined his relationship. After all this, if he develops interest on Gulaal, it is out of ignorance and considering the age and influence from people. He loves her, he does respect her in a way by being firm to achieve his goal, he cant forget what he has learnt, he is confused why she has forgiven Dushyant, he is angry at her for forcing him to boarding school. Kesar's emotions are varied. What we name it as mixed feelings.

So I would say I am not in favor of their destiny together. Had they not mentioned about Kessar-Gulaal relationship through the relationship that was advised to Paanba, probably I would not mind. Agefactor or finding love in a second marriage through the custom practiced in a particular community would not have been my concern. Basically the Bhabhi-Dever relationship has to be pure. That is in today's society. This story is about people who followed such customs of remarriage to BIL.
Kesar's character is such with a complicated set of emotions. For him too, he remembers the times when Gulaal bathed him. His love for her stems from that bond he shared with her because she had always been there for him, to ease his worry, pain, tension, to play with him, to make him his favorite cuisines, etc though as per society she is his wife. His emotions have mixed feelings. So basically, though not in favor of such a relationship, I dont have a problem about the concept. But definitely the strong woman that Gulaal has been portrayed as, I am not in favor of Gulaal developing feelings for the guy she had literally parented. I remember that scene where she hits Kesar for playing "Jua" and cries in front of Vasant's photo and admits to Paanba that "mere paalan posan mei kami reh gayi hai".So to her she is in a way learning to be a parent, a guardinn. For a strong willed woman, its impractical to develop feelings just because he is a grown up man now.
But what I have learnt from being so much involved with Neil's previous show Karol Bagh is that I should not expect any sensible handling of storyline by the creators, operators, manipulators and destroyers of the show(Here...read it as Creative Team). After all, at the end of the day, TRPs make or close a show. Who cares about people's or viewer's sentiments? I will watch the show just for Neil. He is a fabulous actor, so versatile that I will not want to miss seeing him perform.

@suki11 i completely disagree...im not just making up the fact that the pundit said her first husband wud leave her lol those were his own words you can watch the episode and see. i feel that gulaal was more of his best friend rather than mother because he never addressed her with a formal title ,to him she was always just gulaal. There relationship never felt like a mother-son or brother-sister relationship it was always a friendship. Their friendship was beautiful and i cant wait for it to turn into love
