I have tried my best to stop reading into symbolisms especially in a show like Ghum that's only driven by numbers with no development in the plot or characters I mean just look at this entire confession scene that's dropped! Sairat didn't separate because there was any doubt regarding love Or feelings, nope there were some really strong and dark reasons that lead to the separation. Sai didn't leave Virat because he didn't love her, she left because his love wasn't enough. This key point has been brushed aside without addressing this Sairat reconciliation/confession has been brought in, Virat's jealousy has not been cute or heartbreaking to witness in anyway his insecurity doesn't seem to stem from losing something that's close to his heart but rather it seems to stem from not being able to hold on to something that he feels entitled as his!

My point is the symbolism of Satya throwing away the handkerchief to treat Sai's wound is poignant because Sai has been hurt in love while Virat thinks that reconciliation can heal their relationship it won't be enough just like the handkerchief wasn't enough to treat the wounds. Virat saw Sai's wound, Satya sees her pain this was the stark difference in their approach. This is why Satya's treatment worked while V's handkerchief didn't serve the purpose. V's love cannot heal Sai because there's no respect in it.

Next poignant thing in the episode was Saiya's conversation on first love and moving on. It is ironic that both their views on love subscribes to P's views on love😆

Let's keep aside the fact that Didi's love was a two day yoga saga, She has been obsessively in love with V unable to move on, neither could she accept her marriage nor the possibility that V has moved on. Granted Sai and Satya's love for Virat and Girija is not shallow but there is a stubborn resistance to move on, as it is seen by both as betrayal to the idea of love itself.

"What kind of love is it , if it can be forgotten?"

In fact Girija in Satya's subconscious says that she needs to move on for him to let someone else to take her place shows that he knows that Girija wouldn't feel betrayed. Sai has never shown an interest in reconciling with Virat especially after she found out that he is married, her stating that she is here for the kids is true however she wouldn't have moved on either not because of everlasting love but this would betray her idea of everlasting love.

This whole idea of love can happen only once is flawed and unhealthy in my opinion. Yes sometimes memories are enough to last a lifetime but that's when the relationship is wholesome and there's no void felt. Here, sai feels that void maybe not in so many words and actions because it is a fact that she is self sufficient as a person but what about her being cherished? What about her happy family?

With satya, it's a little murkier if Girija's memories are sufficient then that's fine but the fact that he hallucinates her shows that he is broken there is a void that needs healing. A life waiting to be lived.

From where I see, Sai and Satya are stuck in a loop of their making. Satya is holding on to his dead love, while Sai is holding on to a love that is a ghost, a mere remnant of what it once was! What it could have been!

While most of ITV's conveying message to an audience is a facade. Ghum especially hasn't ever even made a show of trying to send one to my knowledge. However, Saiya not moving on would validate their flawed and unhealthy opinion on love and if they are shown successfully moving on then it would be a beautiful second chance at love trope with scope for drama too. Let's see where Vanku takes this!

I think ITV starts off all its characters with such grand idea of love that once the drama quotient needs to be increased for the sake of TRPs, the same love turns exceedingly toxic.

Virat and Sai had so much potential, yet had so much damage done to them. A marriage out of 'Majboori', it could have been so much more. Alas, it simply ended up being sham of a love story with 2 days of love and 5 days of fights. And the whole 'distance increases fondness' is overly romanticised in ghum.

I remember cooing over initial Sairat and all I could think today through the confession was "Virat is such a cheat". This man actively chose Patralekha, over and over and over again, even post Savi's revelation as his daughter. This whole victimisation of being a victim of Patralekha makes no sense to me. It seems extremely patriarchal that they have made Pakhi the dead weight and villain in the relationship to show Virat as someone who's craving for Sai. This man was in it voluntarily. He chose to hide Vinu's secret, he chose to act as Pakhi's husband. For once, I hope he'll own up to it.

I never thought I'd feel for Pakhi. She has done all things evil but she's no more evil than the mess that Virat and Chavan have made out of the lives of those two women. Virat especially.

As for Sai, I think she can either move on or stay single all her life. Both sound quite attractive but for the sake of love, I'd love to see a healthy SaiYa relationship. A mature one.

As a woman and a feminist, I think removal of Virat from the equation would do wonders.

Tbh, I don't forsee SaiYa relationship lasting until the end of the show (i.e. showing Sai end up with Satya and not Virat) just because this show just screams old school ITV to me lol. And in those days, in most shows, the FL ends up with only the ML even if she or he or both had married others in between. Imlie 1st gen and I think, Kasauti Zindagi Ki 1st gen, are the only shows I know of that has shown an ending with the FL + 2nd ML. Can't even count Anupama in this bc her story is not over yet.

I hope the SaiYa relationship is healing for both of them but I'm not putting all my eggs in their basket [trauma reaction LOL]. A part of me wishes it would last but a part of me wishes they use this to really fix Virat and heal Sai. If the show goes the way I think it will (SaiRat ending) then I hope this marriage is used to show Virat how wrong he was and how much he abused his so called love for Sai, and that in the end he also grows and understands how to better love someone. He consistently lacks in following through and acting on his love. I.e. he loves Sai, always will, but has rarely every fulfilled it. I hope that if indeed he is who she ends up with, that he learns through Satya how to fulfill love. Otherwise it would all be for nothing.

If in the end SaiYa end up together, I wouldn't be mad at that either, I just hope they have better development than Sairat ever did. And they really focus in on healing Sai (Satya too).

thank you for the thread and to the people who have commented. Resonate and echo the sentiments of people here

If SaiYa are endgame - great!

If SaiYa will only be friends- great!

If Sairat are endgame but only AFTER V suffers ATLEAST 1-2% of what he put Sai through and atleast realizes what all he has done to wrong Sai - then maybe it will be worth it.

Sai, Satya and even me personally- I'm very old school that love - true soulmates love ek hi baar hota hai. Because thats how idealistic people think. but sometimes there is a beauty in second chances.

Sai and Satya have a common pain. I think they can heal each other and be good for each other whether in a platonic way or romantic way

I loved their scene a lot. Both the parts where Satya realizes Sai is in pain with one grimace and then reprimands her and throws away that stupid hanky and uses proper sterile dressing material to treat the wound and then the conversation where Sai simply sits by him and asks him kaun tha- just knowing with one look at him that he is heartbroken too and he immediately shares most of it. And Sai's reactions were one of empathy, pain, admiration, bittersweet smile rather than pity. she understands him. She knows his pain. she has felt both losses- of death of her family member and of losing love. He knows hers- of losing love but not being able to move on and forget it or stop yourself from caring or thinking about the person.

I really needed to read this thread to feel less triggered after reading several comments that I find deeply upsetting. Yes its a fictional show but the way people speak tells me a lot about the way people think and I find it saddening that there are a more than expected number of such triggering comments.

In my time on the forum I have often read comments I find disagreeable but I used to feel not so affected when the number of people/comments that I found crass were just a few. But now when I see that number being higher than what I expect, it is upsetting. Especially when the people you thought were reasonable and like minded end up giving such triggering opinions- its a rude shock.
