OK here is what I read from Virat's expressions. You cant forward any scene in CN to observe this behavior from Pakhi.
P1 is the Pakhi who is positive, changed and guilty. You can only see her little bit post leap episodes. With this Pakhi, Virat is distant, doesnt touch or let her touch him. He doesnt behave as friend also but someone who knows what she has done to THEM (SaiRat). He behaves as if he is just there as a friend, who will support her but no attachements. Evidence.
1. The entire Virat-Pakhi interaction after Vinu's arrival to CN from camp. When she enters the room while he changes, he is very cryptic. He doesnt even start a converstaion with her. He doesnt let her touch. Look how he takes away his hand when she hugs Vinu after Virat-Ashwini convo. But there P1 was already slipping into P2.
2. This Virat will not consiser Pakhi as. Vinu's mother. He doesnt inform anything about vinu to her because he is his child, ONLY. Not Pakhi's. The mera beta jaap comes from here. It naturally comes to him, to call Vinu as HIS son.
3. The true blue P2-P1 transition can be seen in blue dress interaction. It is very critical episode. You cant miss it. Pakhi is already slipping into P2 more from previous night. She is upset. When Virat enters the room, he asks her to take medicine. See how he interacts. He talks to her, more friendlier way. He says she takes Vinu's RESPONISIBILITY too. He gauges her reactions. She says when Vinu doesnt get attached to her like he does with Virat, she feels lonely. And look how Virat's expression changes when she says "Humara" bachcha and "mere" Pati. He knows she is milder version of P2. So he pacifies her by asking her to give some time to Vinu. Look how she changes after taking medicine. She talks about Vinu only like a care taker.
She herself reminds hiim about Savi and Sai. And she looks genuinely happy when Virat smiles at Savi's mention. But when Virat realizes she is in P1 mode, he doesnt talk to her much. That troubles her. She knows the reality. This is their equation. She is trying to come to terms with it.
3. One more P1 interaction happened recently. When Virat wakes up from unconsciousness, Pakhi was found sleeping. When she gets up, she is in P1 mode, rushes to get medicine. Is not insecure about Sai. When she comes back and helps to put buttons, he doesnt let her. She accepts. She moves away. Virat doesnt talk much to P1. She asks him to take medicine, he doesnt respond. This freaks her out and she becomes P2. Look at Virat's expressions changing to mild surprise when she says she neeeds to know whether he still has feelings for Sai. He scrutinizes her, with shock, that she is P2. She shows rights on him. she wants answers. P1 knows he loves Sai still. P2 is insecure. Once he knows that he is talking to P2, he answers her, assures her. Touches her. Lets her touch him. The next day he lets her help with buttons.
4. One more slight indication that he observes her and cheers her is when he says sorry about forgetting her birthday. Look how the camera pans on Pakhi's sad face for a second, he observes and then says sorry. She immediately becomes happy. The same scene happened in Vinu's room during Kankavli trip planning. The camera pans on her sad face, he observes and immediately thanks her for proposing Kankavli trip instead of going to Maldives.
5. Pakhi in her worst P2 form is seen in "Ajeeb" fight. Virat is totally shocked by her behavior. He cannot gauge her. He thinks she is P1 so says it is 'ajeeb' and 'ghalat'. Look at his expressions when she flips after ajeeb word. And look how angry he looks when she says they are pati-patni. That is the worst form of P2. Full of rights on him and hope that he will take it forward. Virat shuts off to this P2. He will not indulge her anymore. Next day though, he makes amends to bring her into happy space. He will not let her feel loney, or cause her 'taqleef'. If she is in that happy space, she operates better. She is close to reality.
6. One more important evidence of P1 is in dining table scene in blue dress. Look how she interacts with Vinu. she is just care taker. Mera bachcha jaap is not there. Virat moves away when she serves him, and she is OKAY with it. And look at BK's surprised face when Pakhi says they will concentrate on Vinu. BK cannot understand this Pakhi. Hence the surprise. She thinks Pakhi wants to move on with Virat. But this Pakhi is happy with her status quo. Also P1 Pakhi, will be the first one to stop family from keeping hopes on thier marriage. she jumps in to stop them. Contrast this with Pakhi in another dining table scene where they propose honeymoon trip. She stays silent, let the family prod Virat. She has expectations.
Blue dress P1 Pakhi is the one who will ask Virat tomorrow to start afresh, becasue she knows there is nothing between them, or there could be anything between them. She knows Virat's feelings. But she doesnt stay in P1 state longer because in this state Virat is aloof with her. She is not strong enough to accept it.
Virat is trying to make this blue dress Pakhi constant, so she will accept her fate and move on. Or remain in the same zone they set for themselves. Doest question him or expect anything from him. Beause that is what they agreed upon. May be.

PS: Dont throw galis, chappals and stones at me if this is proved wrong. this is what I observed with my KD mind. And the biggest clue is, as moor and sherry mentioned, and I also agree. The nonchanlance of Virat towards Pakhi and the so called marriage when he met Sai. He didnt even think about Pakhi during their argument. It is a big give away.
