People can say what they want in a public thread but i discovered recently that i do have the option to manage a thread created by me the way I want. So i will make use of it effectively!

I actually didn't even know the option existed. Discovered it quite by accident. Serendipity.

Personally I do not believe in this IF philosophy of "moderating" by essentially shutting topics down or deleting peoples opinions.

The internet and forum is a public open forum so people have a right to air their stupidity also! 😅🙈

But I've realized that the forum has 2 avenues - one public where people can say what they want and one "private" - which are threads created by forum members to discuss topics they like .

I would like to believe that I can distinguish between someone putting a contrary view to the TM for discussion purposes, to air their opinion, versus just to spite people. If its the former, its fine. I love to discuss/debate but if its latter I see no reason to not use the option available through the forum to hide such posts.

There are enough other "public threads" where people should be able to say whatever they want without censorship no matter how crass or dumb i might personally think their opinion is. But on MY private discussion thread, I decide what goes! Simple.
