I agree that this version of the proposal is probably not the best or most ideal but I feel like if you just tale only the episode in isolation, and remember to adjust your expectations to ghum-verse, you can enjoy it more.

here are my views to the points raised by everyone-

1. Sai is not being loud, vaise bhi mahaul shaadi ka hai toh she brought dhol nagade. Shaadi mein toh band baaja hota hai.

2. I have a feeling that Raj-Shivi and others had an inkling she'd confess. They seem pretty happy about Sairat reunion on their wedding. To them, its important to see the people responsible for reuniting them to not have a sad ending themselves. Is it most ideal - NO. But in the ghum verse with the utterly crazy circumstances- chalta hai. If Sairat were not there Shivani wouldn't be getting married so chalega to share her special day with them.

Uparseh off screen- essentially Ghkkpm makers wanna save expenses on making wedding ka set twice and the same logic probably for Sais outfit. Shes dressed in traditional nauvari saree toh lage haath 2 things they are doing. Kanjoosi hai. V ke liye itnaa taam jhaam nahi hai tog uska kurta change hoga. Could they have given 2 looks- yes! But ab kya hi karein.

3. I see the dhol scene of Sai as a good deviation from usual where its seen as a male thing to do. Sai broke the norm. I have never seen a girl with dhol strapped on her in itv. Hatke tha.

4. V essentially wanted this grand gesture from Sai. So after all this effort he will "hopefully" take her less for granted and understand that she needs time, space, clarity to make decisions and he cannot just do whatever the F he wants.

5. This public proposal of Sai is in stark contrast to how V behaved in love. He was too scared, tongue tied, worried about 50 things and always messed up in the process of over analysing, over thinking, giving others precedence over Sai n his relationship... but Sai is simple, sorted. He needs that influence in his life. I hope he will be able to tell her how much he respects her courage. To speak with that amount of clarity in public despite the always small nagging fear of rejection requires tremendous self confidence, and courage. And Sai has that.

And i feel like Sai was pushed into it. If Shruti kaand hadnt happened Sai would have probably confessed in private. And she does mention that she thought about doing it in private. But i think Sai is using this as a Hail Mary effort. Ki all or nothing. Matlabb iss ke baad agar V nahi maana toh she will leave for good knowing she tried everything, said everything she wanted to and thats it!

6. When Sai says i didn't know matlabb of shaadi, sindur, mamgalsutra etc, its true in that - she never was prepared for this. Obviously a big component has to do with V telling her it's a deal n shes free to leave him afterwards. And its not like V was doing every rasam with his heart in it. But obviously she can't point that out pre confession because V is a tantrum prone person. Hopefully she will later. And say that he is equally responsible for Sai feeling insecure. Infact he is MORE responsible. If he had managed to clarify about pp, confess- then itnaa sab hota hi nahi. If he had not brought up the word deal, it wouldn't have been one.

The only things i cant defend is the parallels with pp and the dance as V plays dhol with full aggression.it was not needed. Didn't add much to the scene. Looked very meh...and pp's face is a nuisance. And the jewelry- Sais look was tbh not great at all. But i could get over it because of the way Sai emoted.

The jewelry was too loud and tacky. Simple jewelry rakhte toh thik hota.

Would a private intimate convo waala proposal be better- YES!

But public proposal ka ye ek faayda hai that pp bk gang can never taunt Sairat about the foundation of their relationship and marriage anymore. Because now there has been a new start . Jo hai sabke saamne bol daala hai. They love each other, they are gonna marry in front of all. Period. So ab jhagda ho, kuch bhi ho- no more is this deal or zimmedari only. Given how much Sai is sunaoed by then, doing this in front of them hopefully means they will be shocked into silence for sometime at least. Fingers crossed. In ghum verse thats like 2 episodes. Varna voh toh har episode mein bakwaas karte hai. But this public thing will make them STFU for today epi and tomm repeat shaadi too hopefully.

I am hoping that we do get a proper private bedroom Convo too...its much needed. I really hope they dont skip that.

The very purpose of the dhol + dance sequence of SaiRat WAS to draw a parallel. The symbolic detruction of the past in every sense - and replaced by the new present. Pakhi is now truly a past shadow in SaiRat's life - with Pakhi witnesssing it - her hopes crumbling like ash. If it was a movie theatre, people will be whistling. Makers trolled Pakhi quite sadistically. Plus, for Pakhi herself, this was a cruel awakening from her delusions - the destruction of the most meaningul moment she had cherished in her memory - on which her own imagined love was founded.

P.S. I too would have preferred a private confession. Just giving creatives POV.

But i think merely the confession should serve the purpose of showing everyone what Sai Virat feel about each other. we dont need a parallel. Theres no parallel to be drawn between holy matrimony and a 2 day infatuation. I personally hate that every big moment in Sairat life constantly has toxic woman's presence or inerruption. First hug, fisrt kiss, OG suhaagraat, confession, every damn scene gets ruined by that pathetic woman's face. When its a ZA scene or just her easily FF karsakte hai but when she is part of Sairat scene can't even avoid her.

But this is ITV, so it is bound to be high on thrills & audience love to hate Pakhi

But on the other hand, she has been an important member of this triangle. Right from day one...

Not just the scenes but even the montage of the show. So if this leads to destruction of that angle, it makes sense for the confession to happen in front of her.

Also, these people cannot help but copy KD. But always go overboard. Jab vaha Pakhi ne dekha tha to yahan bhi dekhna jaruri hai. I would have still loved a private conversation with Pakhi looking from afar.

I am reiterating again. I felt bad for Pakhi yesterday. Aish did good. All she had been holding were those moments for all these years. And it was V who demolished them. This new imagery of Sai dancing to V's tune is the image that will be imprinted on her mind from now. She may deny but she can't forget nor disassociate them now.

Whereas V didn't even reflect upon how he had done the same with Pakhi... Never leaving Sai out of his eyesight and enjoying it to the tee.

That's his growth and attachment towards Sai and if even after this and his love confession today, if she continues to live in her lost love land... And not move towards Sammy then God help her.

Also why i liked the symbolism of Sammy gravitating towards her in the end.

I am really hoping Virat will clear out that the deal, zimmedari and leaving, because he made it that way. It cannot be just Sai’s nasamajh and zidd that she held on to it because he never cleared that with Sai before. This has to be done in front of the family, or it will be Sai’s fault alone for the family.

Virat’s monologue about being late to understand her, telling his love.. should be conveyed to Sai. I am looking forward more to their private conversation.

Bhavani has been talking negative about Sai and he is been silent. I hope Virat will be more vocal and assertive, to Sai and his family as he has been doing in his anger mode. I really want this change in him after Sai’s public confession.

When viewed in continuity the confession works. 👍🏼

Sai's confession continues from previous episode. She confesses to loving him, not being able to live without him, wanting to fight and making up the next moment. She calls it deewanapan... similar to V telling Sunny, maine deewano ki tarah use pyar kiya. Beautiful connect even though both dont know it.

Its a sweet innocent sa confession.. honest and cute. Sai mentions this is her first and last love and the way it is delivered is a testament to that.

Sai cannot hold back, she is bursting out to express everything.

Ayesha does this beautifully... there's a smile and chuckle in her voice all throughout.. as if she is unable to control the happiness.

V is intently listening to all this, a smile pasted on his face all through.

Sai finally says Modak I love you. That delirium is so cute.

Team Sai which I have now renamed as Team SaiRat scream loudly ki hame pehle se pata tha...😃

V/NB is beautiful too... He has had an inkling of what she wants to say right from her dhol entry to her kiss and patni wala pyar... so he just closes his eyes and absorbs the words... blocking out everything else. 👏👏

Then Sai asks, whether you love me. V puts up a stern face and says no. Didi heavies a sigh of relief. BK gang is extremely happy. 😔

But then V says.. pyaar nahi... bahot bahot pyaar... aur aaj se nahi kabse... That kabse stuns Sai... (I dont know why that should be... Khair)

Liked the imagery here, Team Sairat is standing on one side and Team Patra on the other but when V confesses, he only looks at Team Sairat side... (V is blurred) since only they matter. 👍🏼

V explains that's why I took you for anniversary celebration... a bit exasperated..

Even though he seems still stuck on it... I liked the reference today... the hurt is over... it was delivered more as a lost chance rather than humiliation... V is finally over the anniversary hurt... Its done.🤗

Sai then very innocently asks him why didn't you tell me before?

V replies... exhausted but with a smile...tumne kabhi mauka nahi diya..

Sai doesn't want to hear anymore and hugs him tightly. V is extremely happy and shocked.

Ohhh and aahhh from the crowd makes Sai say sorry and V hugs her tighter.

Devi comes, hugs and tells V that she knew. She was the first one to know from Sai..

V asks who else knew this top secret and Team Sairat exclaims we all knew.

V is surprised and chuckles... a very cute nod to Sai and her antics.

V says everyone has said what they wanted to.. I want to say something.

Gets down on one knee and asks "Sai Joshi.. will you marry me?"

V tune mera dil jeet liya... I guess this is the second time he is calling her Sai Joshi post marriage. Her identity which she so vociferously protected is intact. ❤️. For him she is still Sai Joshi first

BK disturbs it by asking them to stop the drama. V is totally siding with Sai. Nodding and agreeing to everything Sai says.

Mohit explains that there are 2 havan kund, Sai explains that it was a plan all along.

V is super happy. Forehead air kiss...

MB is now fully Team Sairat.. says good idea... nobody has seen Sairat wedding.

Then V suddenly picks her up leaving everyone surprised.

In the mandap, wedding is on... heart eyes between all four of them. I wish Sunny should have held antarpat for Sairat and Sammy for ShiviRaj.

Also, no kanyadaan for Sai. Really wanted DevKit to do it for her.

Didn't mention Didi earlier, she had left the venue crying after Sammy reprimanded her. That's why he was standing near her. He anticipated her breakdown and probably went there to stop her from making a scene. But it got too overwhelming for her and she left crying.

I praised Aish yesterday but today it was very thanda... she got what she deserved since long but her pain didnt reach me like it did yesterday.

Back in the mandap later, Didi is poisoning BK's mind about the Doctor and Bahu roles. BK goes and stops the last phera.

In Precap BK is asking Sai to either be a doctor by leaving the house right now or complete the last phera and be a bahu only.

Verdict:

Easy breezy cute sa episode..

Works well in the grand scheme of things. Like others mentioned yesterday, this public confession was needed because everything about their marriage was in public view, so a confirmation should also have been public. Fine... It could have been only ZA though.

Anyway, the reason why I feel V didn't bring up holi and instead mentioned anniversary is also because of this... Holi was first flush of love. Anniversary is the euphemism to marriage and on that day V suffered public humiliation (Sunny Mohit were spectators). So this public acceptance witnessed by the two people who also witnessed the breakdown was symbolic.

NB/Ayesha both were in form.

Yesterday I mentioned that I wanted V to be more expressive... he was but in his own way... the closing eyes to absorb the ILU was so beautiful. The chuckle and happiness at knowing that it was a plan all along was so good.

And most importantly, the Sairat dynamics was back... Sai is back to her innocent and childish self which she is only with V. And he has protective understanding tone (because of the age difference) with her. That was totally back today. Happens when he says bahot bahot pyar, top secret and then when he calls her Sai Joshi.

She need not be the matured self and he can be equally childish with her. That fun banter wala Sairat was seen today. It makes up an important part of their relationship, so it felt good to see it even in the confession.

Passion was seen only when he picked her up and during the Mangalastaka... but that will come later.

Precap is interesting...

V will never ask Sai to sacrifice career and with such a proclamation now, he will support her no matter what.

To me, he will step forward and tell BK what was mentioned in the promo. Shaadi jaruri hai... it is right now.. for both.

But there is no mention of his transfer yet.

So he will give BK a choice... either he takes a transfer with Sai and she can be the doctor or he doesnt and stay in CN but BK wont stop Sai.

Knowing BK and knowing the PH, transfer wont happen. BK will have to begrudgingly agree to V's demand.

Keeping Sairat in CN leads to more drama.

My prediction is heart to heart is definitely happening now. Sai will be disturbed that inspite of all this she is not considered a bahu and may now have to give up her dream although V has promised support. That may finally lead to the much awaited conversation we all are waiting for. Fingers crossed.

Overall a good episode... as a SaiRat fan who waited for so long... I AM HAPPY. 😳
