Budget Single Digit : 7 cameo openings.
i agree with you , some actors are made for a suitable genre roles, Neil doesn't shine in the epsiodes where he is rude or abusive, but in the other episodes especially heartbroken and emotional one he is very good. May be because actors can't connect to the character that's were they lack. Shaffaq is a good actor but here she actually is doing her worst. About pakhi we can't say much as we haven't seen Aishwarya previous work, but her character is responsible for probably we feeling her to be a very bad actor, if her character would have been different she may have been an average actor, not bad though like now.Originally posted by: nikita05
I have heard about Shafaaq and her experience as an actor...watched mahabharat too here and there but don't remember her as kunti mata... But here, her acting is largely underwhelming. Was really looking forward to her being a 'strong' third wheel as opposed to Pakhi didi but she comes across as worst one. Her first scene in the show with sada was good, other than that...🤷
So coming to the main part of my post... Should we give a benefit of doubt to the actor playing 'Pakhi' for playing a pathetic role then? She has this weird body language, never seen in another TV actor...however the role she is playing is PATHETIC since the beginning. And with passing time, they have made her cringier by giving her shirt hugging scene, night duty scenes, making her jealous, petty and two timer.
Neil too has his off days, rather months in tracks where Virat's character goes downhill...so...
I have always been fan of negative/ gray characters, they bring spice to story, more enjoyable than boring positive characters but here these lack the zing, the way they are written, all being abla naaris.
Can playing such gray characters be DETRIMENTAL to one's career?
There are many actors who does unconvincing characters/negative characters wonderfully. Best example is ml from Colors show. His character has zero consistency still he gives good performance. Ghum major draw back is director. It's the director duty to push actors for good performance. But ghum lacks direction, editing every department. Regarding pakhi she was underwhelming even when her character was sane at begining. After samrat entry she has the scope to perform differently but her happy scenes also looked fake. But I feel she wouldn't be this much bad had ghum has good director. He would have corrected her body language, walking style and all. May be she would have given decent performance with good director. So it's mainly fault of director in ghum. He isn't pushing actors to give their best.
Coming to actor playing virat he had an understanding of character....he asked the cv to change the script during handholding scene because it is not the virat that once was established and in iv too he didn't support virat's behaviour....but virat was butchered to an extend and I don't think actor is satisfied with present character arc...that's why he is not able to perform well...for me as an audience it ruins my viewing experience....this project was first approached with popular actors which they declined saying no potential for virat's character...but as an actor he should perform his best irrespective of storyline..
If you didn't perform a character specially negative one well...your career in itv is gone....but if you get appreciation...you will be the topmost actress...many actors have gained popularity by playing negative lead...but actress are few....the rest actress ...many didn't get even a show after...big example one of the contestants of this season BB...
the character arc itself of pakhi is pathetic....the first downfall occurred when she didn't care for samrat when he went missing...rather than a girl who lost love...she was a person who purposefully created fight between couple...there are few scenes she performed well ...she brings flowers for sai to put in head...the post ladakh trip fight of sairat..a short scene with bgm...and the scene she send ajinkya to sai room when she was fully a negative character...samrakhi dream by kaku....to an extend none of the actress playing pakhi in every version didn't do any justice except actress playing rk to an extent...rk performed as a girl who dreamed about a lovable family life with child and emon got it in her eyes...so jealousy was in her...but pakhi I can't say anything....day by day she stoop into low levels...
Shruthi actress created impact only on first episode.... playing positive character is quite easy but grey shaded is tough....that's why we like sheetalji and sneha....playing sai joshi is also not easy....not normal positive fl...from breakdown tears to high voltage anger....selflessness to possessiveness....sai joshi ...a character who depict every human emotion but not considered as negative since her mind is pure...and that's why ayesha made a place in general audience heart
the ml of rangu top show, negative lead of anu aunty all are loved more than postive ones due to their performance

I agree, Ayesha is the only one who got us hooked to Sai and Sai to the show... Others are not good, even postive characters like Devi which were loved in the beginning are unbearable to watch now.
@bold this is the scene where I found pakhi bearable. She was good at playing manipulative and cunning side of pakhi. Had makers made pakhi full negative character instead of trying to make her bechari aishwarya would have given decent performance. May be.Originally posted by: dairymilkanu

Sai Joshi is not a easy character to play. People think it's easy to play because it is positive character. No. The character has many layers. If someone randomly watch sai clip where she is giving back to CN family they will think sai is brat and rude girl while pakhi is innocent. That would be the first impression anyone get. But that's not the case. Playing confrontational character like sai needs a lot of energy and homework. She needs to show both childish and maturity side as per situations.
Shafaq was good in her first scene with sada. After that I think she herself is confused what her character wants. It is completely makers fault for not giving her consistent character atleast in her begining days.

This connect wali problem is there mostly in this show... Other shows, it doesn't happen much... people do perform when their characters go out of track, here mostly it's just that everything is taken for granted. For Neil, I feel he is not a natural actor, his scenes come out very artificial, especially the rude and abusive, even heartbroken and emotional, he looks better in light hearted scenes.
I got disappointed with Shafaq with the hype her entry had.
I have never watched Aishwarya, nor intend to go through her previous or coming projects as such, she is below average actor but the character too plays a role..she has failed to gain sympathy for Pakhi, the victim, if we go by the narrative of cast and production.

ML of Colors top show, even the negative lead are treat to watch. Whenever they don't show the negative lead in the episode, I actually miss her, here I pray not to see Shruti or Pakhi in episodes. As I said, the zing is missing, also the direction is pathetic, production value is pathetic.
Jaffar somewhat made her perform in initial episodes, she was average then too but still bearable.

Again, the actor playing Virat is not natural, no offence to anyone, my POV. The efforts are seen in emotional scenes...he was great in angst in Amey fight, Pulkit lunch fiasco, even anniversary fight in hotel, but it's dicey there.
Maya of beyhadh, the first ML/ antihero of Anu aunty, the vamp of Anu aunty show, the ML, the vamp of top rangu show are all great in gray characters.
Pakhi character had great potential, but the acting abd then the subsequent writing, she comes across as dumb rather than sly, manipulative woman...in a cover of a victim, who is wronged by everyone. The actor failed...
Shruti is a major disappointment, it's easier to watch Pakhi than Shruti onscreen.
Sneha and sheetal should have been given a more meaty roles and SS.
Sai Joshi can come across as an irritating character, like Devi tai comes across these days but Ayesha managed well. It's difficult to portray the range, ayeshu is successful and hence sai is famous, hence the show is successful.
I have almost given up on Neil..Dont want to waste my words for him.. It's the lamest excuse that actors less connectivity has got anytjing to do with acting.. As many of of you mentioned about colours top show hero..That guy far better than Neil ..He is so convincing on screen..
Ayesha is top notch with her expressions.. But she still has to work on lot of things like stability during dialogues delivery.. I'm seeing slowly she is picking up those smallest nuances..
