Beautiful as always and emotional 😍

The way you always get some scenes that happened in the show and connect it to your stories is too good❤️

I started watching the show for SaiRat and somewhere started watching SaiRat because of Sairat movie...nice to see a reference here...

Awwww.. that's so sweet.

Thank you for noticing. I am an amateur so I really can't invent stories. The best I can do is build up on a reference point. ☺️

Glad to know that it works for you ❤️

I had introduced SaiRat WA group in the first part. Aniket is the admin 😆. I wish I was part of it too 🤣

That was the idea for the WA group. To create scenarios for them to spend time together and turn all the bad memories in good ones.

Part 19 - ‘Chonch ladiyaan’

It's the day of the wedding.

Virat and Sai are both eager to start a new chapter of their lives. And so is everyone around them. There is a lot of hustle and bustle around the house.

The haldi ceremony is done at Virat’s place and ushti halad is sent for Sai. SaiRat gang is teasing Virat and Sai like anything and both are enjoying it.

Virats' family reaches the venue. Sai is in her room, being instructed to not go out. Virat, desperately looking for her, asks Aai to meet her.

Aai - “Are sabr kar Godu, milegi thodi der se”

Virat looks downcast and so Mohit comes to his rescue again. He whispers something in Virat's ear and goes from there.

In Sai’s room

“Are, Mohit Bhaiya aap? Sab log aa gaye kya?”

“Haan Vahini, lekin Dada bahot bechain ho rahe hai.. Aapse milna hai unko. Ye lijiye baat kijiye” and hands over the phone to her.

Sai blushes but since she cannot meet or show face, holds her pallu in front of the phone camera and talks to him.

“Aapko pata hai na, nahi mil sakte?”

“Are yaar Sai, ek baar chehra to dikhao”

Sai, now turning a deeper red… “Nahi dikha sakti, aur aap Mohit bhaiya ko pareshaan mat kijiye. Wait for some time. Milungi thodi der se.”

Mohit reluctantly goes away.

It is time for Virat to visit the temple and Sai to perform the Gaurihar pooja. She sits near the Annapurna and Balgopal idols and dedicatedly starts the pooja.

After the baraat returns, Samrat comes and asks Sai to accompany him to the mandap. Sai is wearing a yellow Ashtaputli gifted by Samrat.

The Antarpat is in place and Virat is standing on his toes to take a look at Sai. Sai reaches the mandap and Mangalastaka starts. Virat can only stare at her beautiful feet adorned with Mehendi.

At the end of the Mangalashtak, antarpat is dropped and Virat finally gets to see his bride. He is completely awestruck at her beauty and adores her lovingly.

The Pandit asks Sai to put a garland around Virat and she does the same. Next, Virat too does the same. After the varmala it is time for other rituals.

Virat and Sai are sitting next to each other and performing hom/yagna. The priest explains the significance of it. He tells Sai that from now on, she is Virat’s partner in everything. The good and the bad. For better and for worse. He then asks Virat to put Mangalsutra. Virat remembering the last time, has a tinge of emotion wash over his face. Sai, quickly realizing this, gently holds his hand, nods at him and gives him a cheerful smile. Feeling glad, looking at her reassurance, he places the Mangalsutra around her neck. The priest then asks Virat to fill sindoor in her maang. Virat does so, this time with utmost dedication and authority. Sai gently closes her eyes embracing the feeling that she truly belongs to him now. Virat too, overwhelmed at the feeling, tenderly kisses her forehead and looks at her adoringly.

The saptapadi/saat pheras are done and the priest once again explains to them the significance and true meaning of each of the seven promises they make to each other.

The next ritual to be followed is 'Kaan pilne'. Virat expecting either Mohit or Pulkit to do the job is stunned to see Ajinkya walking to the mandap.

Sai, looking at him naughtily, “Aapne usko bahot pareshan kiya hai.. Aaj ek mauka hai…”

Ajinkya by this time is in the mandap and sitting near Virat, slightly hesitating. Virat shoots him a stern look and he withdraws his hand back. Sai, enjoying this, interjects,

“Are Ajinkya… aaj badla lelo… he won't be able to do anything”

Pulkit, Aniket, Samrat and others too now are cheering Ajinkya.

Ajinkya, still hesitating, pulls Virat's ear and tells him to take care of Sai. Virat winces a bit and the assembled crowd cheers Ajinkya to pull harder, he doesn't and thankfully leaves Virat.

Everyone including Sai bursts out laughing and Virat leans towards her and in a deep husky voice warns her… “Iska badla tumse lunga main.. Yaad rakhna”

Sai draws a sharp breath but enjoys his irritation nevertheless.

After all the functions are over, it is time for the Vidai ceremony. The required rituals are performed but Sai is happy instead of feeling sad.

Virat teases her, “Sai, tum shayad pehli dulhan hogi jo Vidai pe has rahi hai''

Sai, in mock anger, “Aap chahte hai main rou?”

Virat - “Are nahi Baba, please mat rona. I can’t handle that. I never want you to cry because of me.”

They sit in the car to proceed to CN and Virat asks Mohit to put on the music system. He pulls her closer, entwines his hands in hers and kisses them lightly. Sai rests her head on his shoulder, a feeling of contentment and peace visible on both their faces.

Sohni sohni si mohabbat ne kareya hai tang

Haaye kudi teri sohbat ne kareya hai tang

Rangeen film jaise dikhte hain rang

Bhangra ji paaye hain meri umang

Satluj mein ikk samundar naache.. naache..

Ambarsar aur Jalandhar naache.. naache..

Rangraliyaan.. ho gayiaan aa…

Rangraliyaan.. ho gayiaan aa…

Teri meri, meri teri chonch ladhiyaan

This part might seem like too much into wedding rituals and not much of SaiRat. I hope the last part does justice to them.

Gaurihar pooja is conducted by the bride at her home/venue when the groom visits Hanuman temple one last time as a Brahmachari. During the pooja, the bride asks for blessings from Devi Parvati to bestow her would be husband with health and happiness. She is not supposed to turn around and be disturbed by others who would come to trouble her. The bride wears a yellow saree during varmala, gifted by Mama (in case of Sai, it is Samrat who is fulfilling that role). Once the groom returns and arrives at the mandap, the bride's Mama comes to the room, asks her to end the pooja and holding her hand brings her to the mandap for further rituals. Until then, no one can see her.

The two idols of Annapurna and Balgopal are the ones that every bride takes to her new home and is placed in the mandir along with others. In joint families, one can often find many Annapurnas and Balgopals from every bride that has come into the family.

Kaan Pilne is, I think, very unique to Marathi weddings. I don't know if it happens elsewhere. Kaan is ear and pilne is twisting. The idea is the bride’s brother twists the groom's ear and tells him to take good care of his sister. It is often the youngest brother who is asked to do so as they enjoy it the most.

The song for this part is “Chonch ladiyaan” from Manmarziyan.
