this is precisely why I think virat avoids confession. So many questions he will have to answer. He will have answers but will he be able to convince her with those? Sai is not easy to convince when she gives so much importance to his initial commitment words…so it is better she seeks her answers in his love towards her!!

Seeking yourself the answers is a Tiring and time consuming process but when you discover your answers, they are clear! So it is now Sai’s turn to figure out why virat does what he does for sai. It is zimmedari also, but not limited to it.

Hmm.. I think I have a slightly different take on this. Words matter to Sai a lot....especially Virat's words. She knows he is a man of his words, which is part of the reason why she is still hung up on the wedding vaada to begin with. This is also the reason why she was completely shattered when Virat indirectly accused her of being characterless. Everything he says, she takes in. The problem is that while Virat has told her that he doesn't want her to leave and even that he wants this marriage to be real (she was in no state to comprehend the significance of this statement), he has never told her the reality of his feelings without any jalebi ad-ons. Even when he was gifting her the ring, he said that he is starting to like her a little bit followed by he thinks she's different than everyone else and therefore the most special. If we contrast this with Sai, she has actually made quite clear to Virat how she consciously feels about him at this point. She has told him how deeply she appreciates what he has done for her, how much she respects him, how she is closer to him than anyone else, and essentially how he has the spot of abba in her life now. Yes, she has not expressed her inner-turmoils about her feelings extending into love, but that is because she herself is unclear as to what her emotions are and whether or not they are real. In her mind, if Virat loves her and sees her more than a zimidari/ doesn't have any place for Pakhi anymore, why can't he just say it? We have seen this during the college fest scene and ring gifting scene and pool fight scene... it is clear that Sai wants to hear him say that he is not her guardian/she is not his farz... she is desperate every time she asks him, but every time, he chooses the safe way out. She already sees that his actions towards her are more than a zimdari, because if she didn't, she would not keep getting confused and saying that she doesn't understand Virat...

While Sai expresses herself verbally, Virat is more timid and prefers to express himself through actions. In this way, they have different love languages. I don't think that Virat is avoiding confessing because he does not want to answer her questions. To be honest, I'm not even sure if he has thought that far as to what would happen. I think it is more that he does not realize how significant those words were to Sai that he made on their wedding day, because to him, his actions should be showing her otherwise. This is why he keeps asking himself why Sai is not understanding. So there is a crucial disconnect between the two of them. Every time he has been on the verge of saying his feelings, he stops himself. To me, this is ultimately due to a fear of losing her. Just like she is insecure, he is also insecure that she will leave him... and he has always had this fear, even before she said that she was going home with Pulkit. He does not want to rock the boat, because every time Sai questions him, she comes across as always having made up her mind that this is a zimidari... he does not realize that this is merely a defense mechanism for her. So, he gets scared of her reaction, and instead chooses to keep this unlabeled relationship if that means he can keep loving her.

I agree with what Bana said. There is always a tiny part of place left for Didi which makes his answers ambiguous. I don’t blame Virat for that. He is an introvert who never interacted much verbally except with Sunny.

So better for Sai to search for her answers like you said. It may take time but the end result will make the process worth living. I wish that moment arrives soon.

@bolded: I have a different take on this! Forgot to tag you, but my response is in this thread!

He may have said she's "more" important than pp but as Bana pointed out- to Sai that suggests that pp still has some importance. And Sai thinks she only matters "more" because she is the zimmedari, the orphan who has no one but him, the person he thinks is immature n needs direction, the not yet financially independent one, the one he feels guilty about because he crossed lines ....but if all that is out of the equation, in Sai's eyes the first love, the tragically separated yet "eternal" love is virat-pp. She knows nothing about the fact that its only an infatuation, nor does she feel that pp is inconsequential to him. So i understand where she's coming from. But I want to see it play out as her dialogues- a monologue or her breakdown, or talking about it with shivani/aai/pulkit. And at some point i want Virat to hear it or understand why she is not seeing his love. Why she distances herself. Why she builds up her walls.

i think their is a episode like this where she has an emotional talk about this with samrat and virat overhears it in kd.

I think this sums up Virat and Sai's dilemma perfectly.

Deal has been officially broken, but there is still a huge barrier in the form of Pakhi. Sai's insecurity is 100% understandable. Even people who are in a serious relationship and in love, do not make a promise of a lifetime of celibacy - they do move on. Virat making that bheeshma pratigya would only give the message to Sai that Pakhi was too important for Virat. It's difficult for her to fathom how someone who made such a huge life-determining vow for his lover can forget/erase that love from his heart so easily (her dialogue today makes so much sense).....so she concludes that what Virat is feeling for Sai may just be his aadat/attachment that comes from sharing a room. So when she keeps bringing up deal & zimmedari, i don't think she is wanting Virat to counter it (as I previously thought), but actually reminding herself and establishing the 'truth' as she sees it. Pakhi's presence in his life definitely doesn't help her insecurities.

Virat's hesitation in talking about his past or confessing his love - sometimes I too feel that may be the reason. That's why he regrets saying all those things to Sai. Because now it has become an uphill battle to convince his wife about the sincerity of his feelings for her.

I wish we could get both their monologues.

@sailtl I feel the onus in on Virat to clear whatever insecurities Sai may have regarding Pakhi. He made the vaada - Sai has no clue about why and under what circumstances he made it. So her reactions are quite natural. Actually she is already risking her heart by choosing Virat over everything - even whilst being fully aware (from her pov) that the relationship has no future.

@bolded: I think these two things are interconnected for her. I always go back to the pool scene, because it perfectly encapsulates this. She was falling for Virat...all those moments leading up to that fight were convincing her this is all real. But, when she overhead Virat and Pakhi talking, she was brought back to reality. When she was talking to Virat by the pool, she was actually talking to herself. She was saying Virat never breaks his promises, etc, etc. Because, she felt like a fool for thinking otherwise. This same situation happened with the laddoo scene...she was so caught up in those raw emotions, that when Virat ended up taking a bite of the laddoo instead of kissing her or becoming intimate, she once again thought that she was imagining things...she even said that he is "so bad" in a joking way, but that was her disappointment coming though. And again, during the ring gifting scene, in her monologue, she felt stupid for thinking that the ring could be anything other than a birthday gift.

Virat's actions and (lack) of words confuse her. There is a disconnect between how he behaves and what he has labeled (or failed to label) this relationship. Sai keeps saying that Virat is impossible for her to understand, and this is exactly why. Because, she senses and feels that what he is doing is beyond a zimidari, but then she doesn't get why he can't just say it. In this way, the zimidari is both her defense mechanism to protect herself and stop herself from "imagining", because that imagination up until this point has been shattered in one way or another. But, her bringing up the zimidari over and over again is also an attempt to get a different answer from Virat. That is why she always looks so desperate and then disappointed when she is asking him. So, it's not necessarily that she wants him to counter, but she does want him to clear up these confusions... and she does want him to say that all of this is real, because she can feel it...she wouldn't be in a constant flux otherwise.

I haven't watched the episode yet. But in the beginning of ur post u said how can bk be so dense. But isn't Sai being so dense too?! Cant she realise after so many things said by Virat - he even told her that he wants this shaadi to be a real one. How can she still be stuck in the zimmedari world even after so much has transpired - a near death and back to square one!! Why did she even return to CN if she was just his zimmedari. And zimmedari has to get over after her medical studies anyways. She shud hv stuck to her decision of going to Pulkits or shud hv stayed at hostel. I cant take it she is still stuck there. If she wants to guard her heart she wud be most welcome but after moving out of CN. Not after causing more damage to both her and Virat!😡.

Absolutey…Sai also has a habit of giving too many explanations to Pakhi ….regarding the trip there was really no need to mention returning Virat’s favours and all that…Pakhi was right when she made a comment on Sai giving so many names to a gesture from Virat… that was just not needed..she is going out of her way to prove to the family that it is a Deal Relationship…

@bold so well worded 🤩. Absolutely true, until she realizes her feelings for Virat and says it out loud nothing else is going to help her at the moment.

The reason for Virat's hesitation in confessing his feelings is difficult to place. It could simply be a fear if rejection.

Or it could be his awarenesses that he will have to face a lot of questions from Sai - for which he may not have any convincing answers. I'm not saying he ponders over these things consciously - but it could very well be somewhere at the back of his mind. In order to circumvent this problem, he hopes that his actions will definitely convince Sai of his love what his words may not. When Sai doesn't understand his actions, he becomes dejected. And he regrets saying those ridiculous things to Sai at the time of marriage.

Which of these two reasons? I don't know...

This really explains Sai’s dilemma. For us viewers it may look a bit irritating on hearing her Pakhi Jaap and deal shadi but for Sai these are the issues that keep throwing her in a fix.. Virat and his actions show his love which she can feel but his words still need to clarify his stand specially on his commitment to Pakhi.

In yesterday episode when she said it is a deal marriage,he should have brushed if off and confirmed what he said in hospital that he wants them to be in a real marriage..he said yes it is a deal .may be to avoid any discussion further before going on trip. These are the lost opportunities which will cost him so much when Samrat returns back.

This track after Samrat returns may not be an easy watch rather a roller coaster ride with Sairat drifting apart it seems.. I hope they go fast and get us right there at Sai’s confession.
