Worst written ML ever? - Page 2

Virat is the most vapid hero I have had the misfortune of seeing:

1. Ignores or acts like a deer in headlights when Pakhi confronts him about their past, keeps acting exasperated or has short term amnesia, so annoying.

2. Watches wife get berated and bullied by family and is a phattu who cannot own up to his past and still acts totally self righteous and confused.

3. Acting outraged at Sai when she suggested Samrat left because of him. Yeah dude what did you think he would do if he knew his cousin coerced his lover to marry him out of some misplaced saviour complex. Great going. I feel he has been let off way too easily.

How did this guy become a police officer? What's he smoking that half his memory is wiped out? That's why show's name is SO apt, he is actually ghum in the head 🤣

Sai's dialogues about Sach and jhooth today were absolutely spot on. What I'm surprised is that the so-called protagonist (Virat) is brushing the jhooth under the carpet so consistently. I'm not surprised Pakhi is doing it - she is meant to. But for Virat to consistently act like this is just bizarre. Denial is just a river in Egypt for him at this point 😋.

See, when we watch a TV show, we need to empathize with the protagonist. We need to root for them. I can root for Sai till the end of time, but Virat is making it impossible to root for him. Then I can't enjoy Sairat anymore. Its disappointing to see him as such a Milqetoast character.

I disagree. He has many bad qualities but he has some good ones too. It's not because he goes wrong a few times we will overlook the times he was right.

Btw, to answer your question - I don't think he's the worst male lead ever. There have been many worse than him to grace ITV screens. He definitely qualifies for most rondhu ML ever. Never seen a ML shed as many tears as him at the drop of a hat. He's probably wept more than Sai on this show.

Exactly, and worst ML? It's funny actually but I think where other, typical ML's went wrong that's where Virat went right and the stuff that they did right, Virat didn't. His shortcomings do somewhere make more sense to me than just being a angry young rude man without any reason who doesn't respect FL's boundaries etc, so I prefer him anytime over another typical ML (there are some atypical ML's too though but ignoring them right now)

The numbers of trash, jerks, douchebags we get on ITV shows, Virat is one of the best among them TBH. 😆

His shortcomings do somewhere make more sense to me than just being a angry young rude man without any reason who doesn't respect FL's boundaries etc, so I prefer him anytime over another typical ML (there are some atypical ML's too though but ignoring them right now)

The reason I'm so frustrated is because it is getting too difficult to connect or even understand him. If I root for SaiRat, I want to believe that the relationship is workable (not IRL; just in fiction). I tend to give Virat a long rope - because we don't have any other choice - but it is getting difficult even for me to not doubt his qualities.

I agree that he was shown with a string of good qualities. But if they dilute it or digress from it, those very qualities can start looking shallow. For example, yes he is a very attentive husband in some ways. But at the same time, he doesn't hesitate in throwing Sai under the bus, is insensitive to the humiliation she suffers in CN, gives disproportionately harsh reaction to Sai and yet to his family and Pakhi, he is tolerant of their most intolerable actions. What is all the attention he gives Sai worth then? It all starts looking shallow. And this happens all the time - we could all forget it if it happened sporadically.

In other shows, they don't show a family as horrible as Chavans in the first place.

Yes he is actually worst ML right now on ITV or we can compare him with Ahem of sath nibhana sathiya season 1 ML character,, he also used to stand all dumb nd mute infront of whole family where his wife gets insulted all the time and same goes to our show ML he is just standing there without much thoughts nd watch as he is watching some TV drama

Yes he is standings mute all the time when his family members insult or humiliate sai,, he is always asking sai to behave nicely with his family’s but never ever he stops them from insulting sai,,, if sai is the one who speaks something harsh to pakhi virat is there to stop her from doing so but whenever pakhi is insulting aur humiliating sai most of the time he does not ask pakhi to stop nd not to cross her limit,, most of the time his dialogues nd words are not strong or weigh enough to make pakhi realise that she can not walk over sai like that,,, he is an IPS officer nd infront of him his family is openly verbally abusing sai.. his wife or not is not the question but the thing is a police officer can not overlook this verball abuse on a 19year old girl nd indirectly supporting the criminals,, we as a viewer are worried about this butchering of character of virat chavan the IPS officer,, in earlier episode he was really really good but suddenly makers started to bring down his character I don’t know why may be for TRPs coz for TRP aunties they like to see FL suffering nd fighting all alone but in actual life it is horrible experience for any girl who get a husband like virat,,,, for the earlier episode i can give virat some point as a husband where he helped sai but not now after recent episodes twist nd turn nd even after today’s episode i think sai is the most unluckiest girl who is his wife nd she has to bear all verbal abuse from his beloved family nd so called friend pakhi,,,

I’m still not over as why he didn’t speak anything or stop his family when he saw everyone was accusing sai as a Lier,,, if sai was wrong bringing his personal matter infront of his family then tell me what kind of husband or lover he is who was just allowing his family to accuse or insult or humiliate sai for what reason where she is not completely wrong pakhi instigated her nd sai reacted that way..

sai doesn’t love virat bit virat loves sai so how can he stand silent there nd watch all drama without uttering a word, when you love some one even if you are angry with them but the moment you see that they are in danger or getting insulted because of you, you try to save then you save your love’s honours infront of family, there you don’t think about your honours or anybody’s else rather you react to save them but here we saw virat was all silent after saving his nd pakhi’s izzat nd let sai to get insulted nd humiliated without any regret,, i don’t understand this virat !!!!
