Interesting take and well written. But i must confess that it bothers me to read how Sai and Virat have turned to smoking, alcohol and casual relationships/sex. The way they're built up in my head is as people who are old fashioned in matters of love- would be a virgin until marriage and only ever be with each other. And for an acp to binge- drink himself into a stupot on his days off and a doctor/cancer- researcher to smoke cigarettes is not how i personally imagine Sai and virat....
I know and I am sorry to dissapoint you but I have tried to make the characters grey as normal as possible.
And Normal people do things opposite of their character when in love or when their heart is broken and both Sai and Virat are in love and their heart is broken.
They both yearn for each other, but still can't do anything about it.
We humans when in love can do things so out of character; that they even suprise us when we look back, thats my first hand experience and deeper the love, deeper are its effects.
People who are suffering from love and heartbreak usually cannot see, how they are getting affected but people around them can.
