She was using scholarship money to buys stuffs for virats family .If she wanted she could gave always stayed in a hostel from day one .i beleive she suggested that too and secondly her father died in action it's itv so they din show much but children of martyrs get support from government .with her scholarship and her father's savings she could gave easily completed her education .She din need vaada boy and the burden of his toxic family. And virat going out of the way to do things for her is because he loved her . Period .She was always considerate of virats money when she was using and would always remind him to return it back when she was in her deal marraige . So in no way did sai get anything from virats toxic family . Regarding providing police protection ,vaada boy could gave done that as a responsible police officer without marrying her . Sai very early on told virat to run away from the marriage but he din.sai would have anyways come to nagpur for her education and vaadaboy could have fulfilled his promise to her father by giving her some police protection during her med course .he really din need to marry her . The mental torture that a bright student like sai endured in that shithole chavan nivas is not worth anything not even virat .
