I want it too, as terrible as that sounds. They should show repercussions to getting people to do things in the name of samaj and something terrible will happen to your husband if you dont do this even though you are allergic! smh

And she raised so many valid points. Sai is definitely a proud feminist ♥️ aai tried to explain it. But this whole explanation of "women have higher tolerance and strength" therefore its ok to treat them badly/ ok for women to take on all this responsibility is utter crap.

In medical school in internship I remember they used to have us work inhumane hours liie 36 hour shifts saying "what doesnt kill you makes you sttonger" but thats just such a horrible way to pass on toxicity and claim its character building! And just because its been going on for so many years doesn't mean it needs to continue. I think Ashwini is one of those people who has the right ideals and thoughts but does not have the conviction to challenge the status quo unlike Sai. Ashwini agreed with Sai but said " aise hi hota aaya hai aur aage aise hi hoga!" Very defeatist attitude sadly! :(

If women are indeed strong they should be celebrated. Not treated as a liability. Bura vyavhar karke baad mein mata ki chowki aur lakshmi/saraswati pooja karke kya faayda?!

Virat is getting provoked tomm as per precap but thankfully Ashwini will calm him down enough to see Sai's pov. I'm a little upset that Virat jumps to conclusions as usual without caring to listen to his wife. If it wasn't for Ashwini being a voice of reason there'd be an encore of the high voltage screaming from last week during shivani saga. When virat know that his "dil ke acche" family gang up on Sai , how is so easily swayed by them?

I think until Sai heard the part about alta rasam being for welfare of family and virat she didn't care to do it but after that she decided to apply it and take an allergy medication too. But i guess Sai didn't tell the family and just continued with her dialoguebaazi because she knows they always find fault with her. If she had told them, they would have still ridiculed her for changing her mind or gloated over successfully bullying her into doing their bidding. But i hope Virat learns that Sai not only agreed to apply alta for his welfare but also took an allergy medication and was willing to put herself in "discomfort" for his sake. Maybe not life-threatening anaphylaxis (that'd be stupid!) but she is willing to risk having contact dermatitis for his sake! It shows that she does care. She's not very expressive about the fact that she cares and always looks for a reason to "pick a fight" with him but really she respects and adores Virat and is definitely grateful to him for his support.

I want to see a follow up scene where despite taking the antihistamine Sai does have some skin issues and Virat helps her and feels guilty and realizes that its not cool to "emotionally blackmail" a woman to do things in the name of riwaaz. Ye sab riti-riwaaz ke liye, aur Virat ke liye despite having allergy Sai is applying alta. Allergy may only be mild but it's deliberate self-inflicted discomfort. Larger point is that- Kya ye alta rasam se prove hoga whether Sai cares for Virat or not?! Isnt that silly...I hope virat realizes that no woman should be forced into doing things that coukd cause potential harm just for the sake of her husband. Even an educated and stubborn girl like Sai has been swayed into doing something against her will just because she thinks the potential benefits (abstract concept of virat and family welfare) > risks ( objective things like having itching, redness, skin issues due to contact dermatitis!

@bold thank you, these are precisely my thoughts too on that particular aspect of the conversation.Further, I was not comfortable with Ashwini insisting that Virat loves Sai because that should be something for Sai to discern from Virat's actions and words. This is different from when Shivani got Sai thinking on whether their relationship was still a deal or something along those lines in the cafe (sorry I am not able to recall the exact words). And Sai was not wrong when she spoke about the reality of her relationship she hit the nail on the coffin there are three people in her marriage and not because PP is staking a claim but because Virat is allowing her to. This is something Ashwini is overlooking and not addressing and yet expecting Sai to understand Virat. Secondly talking about Ninad and then bringing out Virat's virtues seems like a passive way of saying "see, you could have had much worse".

I love Ashwini and the warmth and affection she has extended towards Sai from the beginning but today's conversation (part of it at least) has me bugged😒

Yes,, true. In every culture it is a woman who bears the brunt. From the time she is born she has to go through the ritual either for her husband or in laws. And, even if she becomes a widow she's called a bad omen but the same thing is not said about a husband who loses his wife. Here too Sayi will apply Alta inspite of having allergy. The whole Chakram Niwas is hellbent on troubling her. It's so pathetic. Don't they have any other work? If Ashwini wouldn't have been there things would have been worse.

I too want Sayi to have the side effects of the Alta. Atleast this will open Virat's eyes.

I think Ashwini blames pp for interfering in Sairat life but never recognizes Virat's role in allowing it. Virat allows pp to barge into his room and insult his wife. How is Sai supposed to feel?

Virat told Sai he has made a commitment to pp! He made the "pyaar...dosti" slipup. So sai is an 18yo medic student who has enough on her plate. Virat needs to be clear about where he stands with pp abd where he stands with this marriage to Sai.

When Ashwini took virat from pp's room to feed him dinner she did not reprimand him saying that its not cool for him to barge into his SILs room in the middle of the night asking her to get him dinner. 🙄She definitely calmed him down, pointed out that he was far too angry these days, understood that hes stressed out by the daily dramas, pointed out that Sai is young, impulsive, "mammsuji" but had her heart in the right place but she forgot to tell him to come to his aai and not go to his kal ki asi hui SIL pp for his problems!

But this whole "raja beta" syndrome is too prevalent. Ashwini definitely suffers from it.

I totally agree with you on this Neerja that we live in patrichial society where all expectations are set for women, and cover up reason is she is strong enough to endure it.

But times are changing, we have no more concept of macho man. Alas, its alpha males who help you in your house chores, supports you to work/ study . Equal sharing of responsiblity is what we talk about.

Rituals are age old tradition, which may change over time. That will be a slow process. Like I see many husbands fast for karwa cha,udh for their wives. Its not for tradition but out of love. But, yes few things are changing

Is it necessary to show sai shouting at Aai for coming .. She never reply to Aai like this.. May be something else will happen tomorrow as precaps are misleading but that's not fair.
