Unmarried women in India are not judged favorably and I know this because my aunt is unmarried. She works and lives with her family and treats her nieces and nephews like her own children. Her life is more than complete but India is a country in which marriage is treated with utmost importance. If you're not married by the time you're 30, people just assume there must be something wrong with you.

I don't understand why any of these girls are married. Their lives don't seem to change after marriage. Ranbir is apparently the forgotten husband. I don't think he even knows that Suryakant is dead, nor does he know about all the drama that happened with Kajri, because if he did I doubt he would have let Durga live there. Or it might just be one of those stupid things where the creatives just expect us to conveniently forget the fact that Durga is married.

I also don't understand why they bothered wasting their and our time with that stupid Rohan-Lakshmi track. Nothing ever came of it. Rohan went away to Australia and is apparently gone for good, like Ranbir. Now that Jhanvi has replaced Lakshmi as the lead character, I guess they don't feel any need to explain what happened.

I have a feeling Nikhil will be a more permanent character but knowing this show they'll either kill him off (like Karan and Satyakam) or just drop him entirely.

As for Kshitij, I can't think of a more useless husband. He is present in the house but he may as well not be since he contributes nothing to the show or plot.

So my point is why does it matter if Gauri gets married? Her husband won't have any effect on her life. She'll continue to live in her own house with her sisters and mother(s) and her husband will leave.
