Part 10:

Next day morning..

Maan came out of his room all ready to leave for the studio, dress up in a simple blue colored T shirt and jeans.

He walked towards the kitchen and grabs a glass of water, where he saw Geet already in there working her way still in her night dress. Maan grabbed a glass of water from the island and drank it while making himself comfortable on the bar stool.

"Maan"

Geet called out to Maan as she turned around with a tray in her hand.

"Hmm" was the reply she got.

" Ye theen theen din ki cooking ka plan jo ti, it's not needed. Aaj se mai breakfast banaungi along with lunch, aap bus dinner banaligiye. Is that ok?"

Maan was impressed, well if she was herself offering such a plan where she will be working more than him, why shouldn't he accept it. So he did accept the slightly better version of his own rule happily.

"Okok"

"Have your breakfast." she pushed the tray towards Maan, which had two plates, one at the bottom and the other covering it.

Maan uncovered the dish only to exclaim a loud

"WOWwww." after seeing his supposed to be breakfast.

"Mind-blowing.. Jab tum ne breakfast ready kaha....palav, paratha, idli, vada, dosa, rice bath, rajma, palak paneer aise variety variety dishes tayar hogi samja tha.

The cordless land-line on the corner of the island starts ringing. Maan picks up the receiver

Ye sab bannane ka recipe kisne diya tume?"

Though Maan's face was smiling and had a surprised tone that could fool anyone who ever heard it, but Geet understood the underlying sarcasm that was directed towards her. All she did was roll her eyes, saying as if she cared.

While Maan pressed the answer button without seeing the caller

"Hello!"

"Maan, mai tumhari ma bath kar rahihu."

"Maa

instantly Maan's face glowed hearing his mother, it was like a breeze of fresh air for him.

Kaise ho aap?? Aur.."

Maan's mother walked towards the dinning table with the phone in her hand, while his father who was having his breakfast, snatched the phone from Savitri, with food stuffed in his mouth cutting the conversation

"MAann..kaise ho?"

"Ha pappaji. Fine."

"Bahu kaisi hai?"

"Wo bi teek hai papa."

(At Maan's parents house)

"Aare phone dijiye." the phone was again back in Savitri's hand

"Heyy" - Raj

"Maan.. Zara Geet ko phone do." -Savitri

"Mujhe bi bath karni hai phone do" -Raj said as he tried to take the phone from her

"Aarre re.. Kya hai ye... Jaye bahar bett ke first aapna khana katam kijiye..." she literally pushed him out to the hall along with his plate though he protested couldn't succeed.

(Back at Maan's flat)

Maan forwarded the receiver

"Maa ko tumse bath karni hai."

"Mai kya bath karu? " Geet asked, Maan was fast enough to cover the speaker of receiver noting the tone with which Geet spoke

"Mai kya bath karu mathlab!!" Maan gave Geet an intimidating glare challenging her to not speak.

Geet forwarded her hand to receive the receiver and spoke

"Hello!"

"Geeeet.. Kaise ho beta? Vaha par tumhe koi takliff nahi hai na? Maan tume aache se khayal rakrahahe haina?" Savitri asked Geet in a tone that she had not used for her own son Maan.

"Ha." was the answer from a disinterested Geet. She was like y I'm even speaking.

"Nahi to bolo, uski class lungi"

"Nahi."

"If you want anything ask Maan, if not I'm there don't hesitate... Mujhe aapne maa hi samjo, mai bi bahu bankar aayata. Mai samaj sakti hu."

"Ha.." was the answer again

"Aare beta, tum bolane mein jhijhak kyu rahi ho?" Savitri was concerned hearing her daughter in-law not speaking properly

"Nahi aise nahi hai." the concern in Savitri's voice actually made Geet to speak to above without the why am I speaking attitude.

"It's ok leave, nayi jaga, nayi log..adjust hone mai time lagega...

Geet zara Maan ko phone do."

That was what Geet needed, she passed the phone to Maan who was sitting there only and observing her.

He took the receiver from her

"Ha maa boliye."

"Maan, uska khayal rakna beta."

" Mai kya maa, mujhse zayada wo meri bohat khayal rak rahahe.." Maan said looking at Geet and the breakfast she had prepared

Both the ladies reaction was like what? Except for their expressions. One on the phone was surprised and the subject of the topic was confused, while Maan continued

"And you know what, she will always be doing some or the other thing in the kitchen."

By this Geet knew he was pulling her leg, and that annoyed her

"Clever girl, she knows that Pati ka dil ka rasta unki petse jata hai."

Maan in his mind was like ya ya

"Aapko pata hai aaj ka breakfast kya hai?

*He gave a pause, then continued looking at the plate infront of him*

Bread and Jam."

"Kya..

Listening to the dish name Savitri was confused

Isme special kya hai?"

"Bread nahi maa, Jam. Wo kudh aapne hatose banaya hai. Same Kissan jam jaisi hai."

Geet mouth went O listening to Maan. While the Kissan jam bottle on the kitchen slab would have probably cried if it were a human listening all this.

Maan's only intention was to show that they were a happy couple to his parents

"Haha, so finally biwi ki hath ka khana pasand aayi."

"Ji bilkul. Aapko bi ek bottle bejne ko kahungi.

*Looking at Geet*

Geet, maa ko bi ek bottle Jam parcel kardo."

Geet folded her hands across her chest in anger and looked away.

"Mujhe kuch nahi chaye Maan...aap dono kush raho. That's all I want. Take care beta, phone rakti hu"

"Ok ma, bye."

Maan put the receiver down

"Aagar kisiko tang nahi kiya to aapko sukun nahi milega na!?"

"Ek aurat hokar, shouldn't you have learnt at least something to cook?

*he got up from the stool*

Mujhe ye lagta hai ki Dev ko tumhare papa kuch nahi kiya hoga, tumhare bare mai sab kuch jankar wo to kudh bhag gayi hogi."

"Kya kaha aapne!!"

Maan repeated the same thing stressing out the words a bit loudly. The way she answered rudely to his mother along with his grumbling stomach made him spit out those words, so in a fit of the raising temper he repeated

"Tumhare Bare Mai Sab Kuch Jankar Wo Kudh Bhag Gayi Hogi"

Saying that he left from there. While Geet fumed in anger.

That day night at 10'o clock. Maan entered into the house only to be greeted by dark and silence. He looked around for Geet but didn't find her, except for the breakfast that was as he had left it in the morning.

He finally located her walking back and forth along the pool from the hall window.

Maan walked up to her, by this time Geet was leaning on one of the benches there.

"Hallo, everything is the same as it was when I had left in the morning. Aur tum yaha ho."

Geet ignored what he said

"Subha aap kya kaha?"

"Maine kya kaha?"

"Yad kijiye"

"Home made Jam?"

"Nahi"

"Tumko khana banana nahi aata kaha, wo?

"Wo bi Nahi"

Maan stressed his brain a little bit to find out what she was pointing out. Then it stuck him, his eyes widened and his face had a silly smile, he looked at Geet scratching his head

"Ooohhh, Dev bhag jane ki bath.."

"Who are you to talk about my personal life? Who am I to? You talked so lowly about me, how could you? Do I look so cheep to you? Ha?"

"Ooo, I didn't realize. Galti hogai."

"Galti hogi to kya kartahai?"

"Hmm.. Sorry bolti hai" Maan was not understanding the head and tail of where this conversation was going

"Lekin aapne nahi manga na.. "

"Ohhh..isliye subha se ye satyagraha..

Teek hai meri maa mujhe kshama kardo."

He over dramatically asked sorry, by joining his hands and bending down a bit.

"Sorry "

Hearing that Geet just passed by him, only to be stopped

"Hello, subha se yahi pe strike kar rahiho na, aab pet ka kya kare? Aab jake kis hotel ka door bajao?" Maan said while knocking on the imaginary door in the air.

"No problem. Maihi karunga" saying so she turned to leave, when Maan asked out of curiosity

"Kya? " as off in what will she prepare

Geet turned back and answered

"Bread Jam"

"HAaa, Baapre Bread Jam aaaaa " since they were standing beside the pool, Maan out of shock, lifted both off his hands in air along with one of his leg pushing against the ground, he dramatically fell into the pool.

In a fight with my sister, you know that pull and push when we were very seriously fighting for the TV remote. I kind of lost balance and fell down right on my lower back. The fall was so bad that it took almost a week for the pain in my lower back to reduce.

Bet jati to kada nahi ho parata, kada to bet nahi parata😂

I'm fine now and thankfully recovered without visiting a Dr.

Apologies for being late and for the grammatical errors.
