Chapter 138
"Wait, I don’t get it" Sanjana looked confused. "You're just leaving? What does that mean?"
"Our move here was temporary" Geet responded, "we hadn't planned to be here permanently. We were always going to leave one day".
"What brought you here then?" Taz inquired. "You didn’t come here for a holiday clearly, else you'd have gone back within a couple of weeks" she added.
Geet thought about her daughter, however she couldn’t voice the reasons so she changed the subject, "Maan is going to book tickets soon".
Taz and Sanjana noted how she avoided the question, though they were curious they realised she didn’t want to talk about it.
"What about Cruella? Wouldn’t you be able to help?" Sanjana questioned.
"I've told you all that I can, she's better left in the past for us" Geet answered. "I'm sorry Sanjana" she apologised.
"Looks like its up to us" Sanjana looked at Taz.
"I'll get Samir to work on the paperwork and redo it all over again" Taz replied, her attention drawn down to Tinkerbell. "Hey" she crouched down picking up Tinkerbell and looked at Geet questioningly, "What are you going to do about her?"
"Oh, I actually wanted to ask if any of you wanted her?" Geet looked between them. "Maan doesn’t like Tinkerbell, and the long flight might not be so good for her. She's really young right?" she looked at Sanjana as Taz was already shaking her head.
"Aditya is going to kill me"
"You both wanted me to buy her, so I did, just think of it as a leaving gift" Geet smiled.
"Not the right time Geet" Sanjana shook her head rolling her eyes.
"Sorry" Geet replied apologetically.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Vikrant walked into the room, he placed the glass of warm milk down on the nightstand and the bowl of cut up fruits.
"A little okay" Meera answered smiling as he placed his hand on her forehead. "What's this?" she eyed the fruits and milk.
"Anisha aunty gave these, she said drink the milk – it's good for mothers to be and fruits to energise you a little" he grabbed the fruit bowl and forked a banana holding it to her.
Meera smiled and ate as he fed her sweetly, once she had eaten the fruits Vikrant held out the glass of milk.
"That's too much milk, I hate milk and its warm" Meera scrunched her nose shaking her head.
"Meers, come on…" Vikrant prompted.
"Please, Vikrant… I…" she paused looking confused when he took a sip of the milk.
"Now, your turn. If daddy can do it, then mummy can do it too" he gestured.
"Oh…" she was cut off when he pressed the lip of the glass to her mouth and tilted. Meera quickly opened her mouth and took a large gulp.
"Good mummy" Vikrant grinned.
"That's disgusting" Meera looked at the half empty glass and shook her head when he offered it to her. "No more! I drank enough, baby is satisfied!" she scowled.
"Okay, okay" Vikrant chuckled, "lie down" he tucked her in and pressed a kiss to her forehead. Meera smiled cradling his cheek and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips.
"I love you" she whispered.
"I love you too, Meers… So much" he answered, his voice deep and thick. He couldn’t describe how much he loved his Meera. He had thought she wouldn’t forgive him since he tried to be heroic and hide the truth from her, but she had forgiven him after a few days of silent treatment. He learned his lesson and has promised to never ever hide anything from his wife. She was all he had at the moment. Once Meera had slept, he grabbed the glass and empty bowl and left the room.
As he finished watching up the glass and bowl, he noted a figure sat on the swing outside. He wiped his hands and opened the patio doors walking around and frowned.
"Amelia, what are you doing here? Where's Karan?"
"Hey boyfriend" Amelia smiled pulling the thick fluffy blanket around her.
"It's cold babe, what are you doing here?" he sat besides her. "Where's Karan?"
"He's just showering, I wanted some fresh air" Amelia replied tilting her head back and staring ahead at the dotted stars in the sky. "I haven’t been able to enjoy the night for a while, today I felt a little better" she smiled faintly.
"You've got a lot of nights to look forward to" Vikrant looked at her.
"Not in this body" Amelia whispered, "I… I'm going to lose a part of me.. What if it has spread? What then?"
"Don’t think of it like that, Amelia" Vikrant reached out taking her hand into his. "You've got to fight this battle, you've got a nephew or niece on the way. They're going to want to see you" he replied. "You can't let them down".
Amelia bit down on her lower lip, and nodded her head sighing heavily. "Its difficult".
"I know, babe" he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, Amelia rested her head on his shoulder as he rocked them gently back and forth on the swing.
"I spoke to Geet today" Amelia stated.
"How are they?" Vikrant questioned.
"They're… they're moving forward. I realised today how distant we are" she murmured, "There wasn’t a day that had gone by when I hadn't at least spoken to her, we always at least used to message or call if we couldn’t see each other".
"Remember when once bhabhi didn’t answer the call and you called us all to make sure she was still living with us"
"I yelled at everyone thinking she'd run away because of your sadu bhai" Amelia laughed. "And it turns out the cow was romancing with her husband".
"I think they were both mortified to come home and find you asking where bhabhi had run off to" Vikrant chuckled.
"Geet was so embarrassed, but that didn’t stop her from hitting me" Amelia grinned as she recalled the day. "After that she'd text me for a week saying she's going here or there so if she doesn’t answer I shouldn’t panic" she laughed.
"They're leaving?" Aditya arched his brows at Sanjana.
"Yes, they're leaving" Sanjana nodded. "I'm not sure when".
Gayatri smiled inwardly having heard the conversation as she closed the door behind her and entered the apartment. "Who's leaving?" she asked innocently.
"Maan" Aditya replied. "Do you think it’s the woman who's asking him to move?"
Sanjana wanted to smack her forehead, "Aditya, she's probably nearing 90. I'm sure he has a mind of his own and makes his decision. He is a renowned businessman who's worth probably millions".
Gayatri's ears perked up, she pondered silently however her attention was drawn by Aditya.
"Mama, maybe you should speak to them" Aditya looked at her.
"Aditya… they've got their lives and we've now got ours" she responded. "I might have lost out on two of my children due to that woman however now you and Kiara are my responsibility" she patted his cheek.
"Yes, listen to mommy dearest Aditya" Sanjana replied sweetly.
Aditya knew the tone and frowned at Sanjana whilst Gayatri cursed her inwardly.
"I've got to head off anyway, dad's called me to the office" Aditya stood and excused himself and walked out of the apartment leaving the two women alone.
Sanjana walked past Gayatri and headed into the kitchen, whilst Gayatri pulled out her phone searching up Maan's name. She stared down surprised, his net worth is 4 times more than Arhaan's business. She shoved the phone into her jeans pocket shaking her head, she hadn't played this long game to lose out on owning this business either.
"Mom, you here?" Kiara walked in calling out. "Dad's asking do you want to go out for dinner?" she looked at her mother curiously.
"Yeah, sure" Gayatri smiled whilst her thoughts pondered over her son's net worth. How had he gone to be a businessman when his father had left nothing for them?
"Dadima, are you satisfied with everything?" Maan asked as they stepped into the elevator.
"Maan bete, I am going to hit you if you ask me that again" she replied.
"I don’t understand just why you had to go and buy all this? We probably would’ve found all of this India" he answered gesturing to the bags he held.
"Bete, its about taking something back for them" dadima responded rolling her eyes.
"I don’t understand why you women shop unnecessarily" he replied with a smile. His smile faded as the doors opened and there stood Gayatri and Kiara.
Dadima's mood instantly took a turn for the worst.
Gayatri looked down at the shopping bags Maan held then looked at her mother in law.
"Nice to see you're spending his money well" she commented as they stepped out.
Before Maan could speak, dadima held onto his wrist shaking her head, instead she stepped forward, there was barely space between her and Gayatri now.
"Gayatri, at least I'm the one spending the money" dadima smiled. "Jal rahi ho kya? Ke mere pote ka paise main spend kar rahi hoon aur tum ek rupee bhi spend nahi kar sakti"
"Maaji, aapko kya lagta hai? Jitna paise aap aaj spend kar rahe hai, utna zyada kuch hafto ke baad mere paas hogi" Gayatri responded back in hindi glad that she hadn't taught her daughter to speak hindi.
"You'll have it all except you'll have nothing at all" dadima replied.
Gayatri frowned as dadima turned and walked away with Maan. She watched how Maan placed his arm around dadima's shoulder protectively, he glanced over shooting a glare and headed to his apartment.
"What were you discussing?" Kiara asked curiously.
"Nothing" Gayatri shook her head stepping into the elevator, dadima's last words echoing in her mind.
"Here's your Tinkerbell's food" Maan placed the tins of food on the counter.
"Oh…" Geet drawled.
"What?" he arched his brows.
"Sanjana just picked her up a little while ago, I gave Tinkerbell away" Geet responded.
"You gave Tinkerbell away?" Maan looked curiously also secretly pleased.
"Yeah, I wouldn’t be able to take her back with us. She's too young right?"
Maan nodded quickly, he wasn’t going to tell his wife they were taking two flights and animals are able to travel safely.
"You're smiling" Geet pointed.
"Of course not, I'm upset as you are" Maan responded shaking his head.
"What aren’t you telling me?" Geet rested her hands on her hips.
Maan looked down at her hands, he was quickly distracted with the tank top riding up, her jeans rested low on her waist. He frowned noticing a shiny object, he glanced over his shoulder – dadima wasn’t there. He stepped forward pushing Geet's top up a little more, "What's this?" he asked curiously.
Geet looked down at her simple waist chain and rolled her eyes. "What do you think?" she pushed his hands off. "What are you hiding from me?" she crossed her arms in front of her chest, Maan smirked as her breasts pushed up and her cleavage was more visible to his eyes.
"Aap… stop it" Geet pushed his cheek away.
Maan grinned widely wiggling his eyebrows teasingly.
"I couldn’t leave you two alone, could I?" dadima asked as she walked into the kitchen. "Do you both start flirting as soon as I leave the room?" she chuckled.
Geet blushed and grabbed the groceries from the counter putting them away, Maan chuckled which made dadima shake her head and patted his cheek mockingly.
"Hey, are you okay?" Karan asked entering the room where Amelia was staying. "I'd come before, but couldn’t find you" he sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Yeah, I was just hanging out with Vikrant" Amelia answered. "Why aren’t you asleep? You've got work early morning".
"Oh, I'd actually gotten this for you" Karan held out the bottle for Amelia.
"Mango and honey milkshake" Amelia looked surprised taking the bottle.
Karan smiled, "I heard you telling Meera you felt like having that" he responded. "Ames, I want you to tell me if you want anything".
Amelia smiled nodding her head, she unscrewed the lid and sipped, her lips tipped up as she grinned widely, the sweetness of the honey and the tang of the mango sizzled her taste buds.
"Would you like anything before I go?" Karan asked. Though his mother had happily allowed Amelia stay, she wouldn’t have been comfortable with them sharing a bedroom. Anisha certainly wasn’t dumb however she'd have been more comfortable until Amelia and Karan tie the knot, they stayed in separate rooms.
"I'm not really tired" Amelia answered, "I slept most of the morning away today".
"Would you like some company?" Karan questioned.
Amelia smiled softly nodding her head eagerly, "With you working and me sleeping, we haven’t spent much time" she murmured.
"I'm sorry" Karan moved closer stretching his legs out and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "There's been a mess up at the company with this contract, but I'm nearly finished with it" he responded.
"Karan… if the cancer has spread then… then I'd like it if you call Geet back" Amelia turned her head looking at him. "I…"
"Don’t Ames, you're going to be fine and it's not going to spread" Karan shook his head.
"Please, just… if its spread, I want Geet to be here. I want to have my friends and family around me…"
"What about your father?" Karan asked. "He's got a right to know" he reminded.
"I know, I've been thinking and… I'm going to tell papa. I don’t want to hide this and disappoint him, if it spreads… I don’t want my last…"
"Ames, please don’t" Karan pressed his lips to her temple.
"I'm… I want to be brave and fight this"
"You are, we're going to fight this together" Karan assured, he cradled her cheek pressing a kiss to her forehead. His fingers brushed through her hair, as he went to touch her cheek he noticed the couple of strands. Amelia looked down, her eyes watered and she cried realise the side effects of the cancer medications she was taking was affecting her. Karan brought her into his arms holding her as she burrowed her face in his chest and cried softly. His own tears spilled down his cheeks as he cried with her silently. How does he assure her when he knows she's suffering? How can he ask her to be strong when he's barely holding it on? The cancer is treatable, however there was a chance it may spread which is going to… No, he couldn’t think that far ahead. He wasn’t going to think so far ahead. He was going to focus on their present and do everything in his power to fight this and be brave for his girl.
"We're going to fight this" Karan murmured, "We've got to fight, you've got to be strong for us Ames. You've got to be strong for the day when I ask your crazy ass to marry me".
Amelia chuckled softly followed by a sob.
"We're going to get through this" he tightened his arms around her. "We're going to one day look back and remember our journey".
"What aren’t you telling me?" Geet shifted closer to Maan in bed almost spooning him and pressed her cheek against his cheek.
"Nothing, go to sleep" Maan closed his eyes.
"Maan… aren’t you really going to tell me?" she whispered brushing her lips against his jaw.
"Geet…." Maan grated her name.
"Yes…" Geet teasingly slid her foot along his calf, she brushed her silky-smooth legs against his, her foot pushing in between his legs.
Maan swiftly turned around and pushed his wife on her back climbing above, "Are you trying to seduce me?" he asked brushing away her soft curls from her face.
"Do I need to state the obvious, Maan Khurana?" she arched her brows, her cheeks reddened.
Maan laughed pressing his forehead to hers, "Geet Khurana…" he murmured. "I love you".
"Maan Khurana…" she whispered, "I hate you right now. Tell me what you're hiding"
"Later…" he cradled her cheeks and pressed a kiss to her lips. Geet wanted to protest but desires peaked high as she felt the soft gentle kiss of her husband. She smiled moaning and arched as she reciprocated to his kiss.
Maan planted kisses along her collar bone pushing her strap down, Geet laced her fingers through his thick hair arching sensuously. Her heart pounding, her eyes closed as she felt the graze of her husband’s lips teasing her breasts above the thin material.
Maan lifted her tugging her top above her head and flung it mindlessly, his hands worked on shoving down her pyjama bottoms whilst he peppered kisses along her skin.
Geet swallowed thickly as her husband lifted his head for a brief moment, his eyes perused her naked form in the semi darkness of their room. Geet shuddered seeing the intensity of his eyes, she swallowed as he looked directly into her eyes as if conveying to her silently how much he loved her.
Maan stared at his wife, he couldn’t look away. His eyes caressed to each part of her body, from her face to her abdomen. He placed his palm to her stomach, lowering his head and pressed a gentle kiss. She'd carried their baby girl for 9 months in her womb, he pressed another kiss and peppered kisses upwards, then lifted his head. He loved the woman so much, he hadn't ever thought he'd be able to love so intensely, so passionately. From hating her, he'd gone to not being able to spend a night away from her. How had he hated this woman?
She was so pure, so innocent, so filled with compassion and love for him. She had fallen in love with him, she'd carried his child in her womb, even for a brief moment she'd given him his greatest gift – their daughter.
Geet didn’t need the words to understand the love that was clearly displayed. How had she become so lucky with this man? She couldn’t voice how much she loved him. He was her friend, her lover, her husband, her child's father.
She cupped his cheek bringing him closer, her lips pressed against his sensuously and deeply. Her kiss meaningful and deepening, Maan groaned in pleasure feeling his wife responding, his hands explored blindly. He nipped her lower lip hearing her gasp as he fondled her breasts, he loved the sudden tenseness that lasted a second before she relaxed and arched up for him. Geet bent her legs, planting her feet apart as he settled between. He parted away from her lips trailing down her slender neck, dotting gentle butterfly kisses along her collar bone.
"Maan..." Geet half whispered-moaned as his lips met her aroused breasts, she curled her legs around his middle as he lingered and pleasured her immeasurably.
Maan moved up, he grabbed a foiled packet from the nightstand, his eyes met his wife’s.
"I love you, I love you" he murmured. "So f*cking much" his voice deep and thick.
He brushed his fingers through the thick softness of her wavy curls, cupping her nape, his lips pressing firmly to her jaw as he entered her.
Geet gasped, throwing her arms around him holding onto her husband as he thrust forward.
Their naked bodies writhed smoothly, ever so gently making love to one another. Their heartbeats racing, their hands exploring mindlessly as if trying to memorise every single moment despite knowing they would once again find themselves in each other’s arms.
How had they come to love one another so much? It was unexplainable, their journey from where they were and to where they are now is filled with evident actions that explained their love for one another. Their love was earth-shattering, only few are so lucky to have felt such an intense real love like this, Maan and Geet had been blessed to have felt this love with one another.
Intense electric currents coursed through them as they enjoyed the blissful moments, Geet arched as she felt herself nearing her climax, she dug her nails onto her husband’s shoulder blades as he groaned out sweet nothings in her ears, his voice stopped halfway as she came, he followed soon after biting back his groan and burrowing his face into his wife’s neck.
Geet tightened her arms around his broad shoulders breathing heavily, she pressed a kiss to his damp skin and turned her head to look at her husband. Maan smiled lazily lifting his head and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead earning a sweet, love filled satiated smile from his wife.
