Part 137

Glad they decided to move back to India.. Each one is hiding something or the other from the rest so as to not hurt them. They all love and need each other. Together they will be each other's strength.

And of course it is fun when they pull each other's leg. Wish to see passion in Maaneet moments.

Chapter 138

Obviously, sanjana and Taz are surprised knowing Geet and family moving back.

What is Gayatri scheming now? The woman has no shame the way she spoke to Dadi

Aww! Poor Tinkerbell. Geet gave it away. Had Maan thought of taking it with them to India. Now he is being secretive and mischievous!

Chapter 139

"So, this is the last dinner together huh?" Sanjana asked.

"We’ll visit" Geet walked out of the kitchen placing a plate of warm snacks down. "Maan comes on a couple of business trips, I’ll join him when he comes to UK" she responded.

"You better" Sanjana nodded.

"It would’ve been good if Samir and Aditya could’ve come" Geet stated.

"Samir has a dinner with a client booked" Taz replied grabbing a samosa and biting into it. "Aditya made some excuse, he probably wouldn’t feel comfortable now, where’s your husband anyway?" She looked around.

"Maan has taken Dadima to visit a relative who lives in Prestwich" Geet answered.

"Are you packed?" Sanjana inquired.

"Most of it is complete" Geet replied, "just to really double check and pack the little things".

"What will you be doing about this apartment?" Taz questioned.

"Maan is going to rent out to a colleague who’s moved here from Scotland".

"That’d earn you some extra money at the side" Sanjana agreed.

Geet looked between Sanjana and Taz smiling gently, they’d extended their hand of friendship when she had arrived here. They were just what she needed to distract her mind from reliving the day she’d lost her daughter.

"Where are you lost?" Taz clicked her fingers snapping her out of her thoughts.

Geet shook her head smiling softly, "Nothing…"

"Didn’t look like nothing" Sanjana commented, "You looked lost" she poured some drink into her glass and sipped her drink.

"A minute" Geet excused herself, she slipped into her room then returned to the living room two minutes later. "The… other day you asked why I had come here…" Her voice trembled, her tone thickened as she sat back besides them. "This is the reason…" she murmured passing them a photograph.

Taz and Sanjana looked confused and smiled, "Oh Geet, this baby is so cute"

"Who is it?" Sanjana questioned looking up.

"M… my… daughter" Geet whispered. "I… She… She was still born".

Shock took Sanjana and Taz by surprise.

"Maan brought me here to get away from… the pain" Geet inhaled sharply keeping herself strong and gathered together. "You both extended your hands towards me when I really needed it, I had run away from my family's love and came here with Maan thinking it would help" Geet explained smiling softly, "Nobody gets away from that sort of pain, I learned it the hard way. My daughter is always going to be with me even if she isn't here".

"We're glad we were there" Sanjana told her wrapping her arm around Geet's shoulder, Taz stood walking to the other side and slipped her arm around Geet.

"We’d have been more welcoming if you had told us this" Taz stated.

"I think you were welcoming enough, Topaz" Geet called her by the name Sanjana had once called her the first time.

"Very funny mousey" Taz rolled her eyes. "Its better than being called blue balls".

"Mousey?" Geet frowned.

"We named you mousey" Sanjana shrugged.

Geet chuckled shaking her head at the two of them, she looked down at the picture of her daughter smiling, "Speaking of pet names, I called my baby peanut".

"Aww such a cute name" Taz cooed.

"She kicked me every time I said peanut, I don’t think she liked it" Geet chuckled and glanced at the clock, "I'll get the food ready now, it's all cooked. Just need to reheat it in the oven" she stood.

"We'll help" Taz and Sanjana stood following her into the kitchen.

"We just ate snacks, dadima. How are we supposed to eat all this food?" Maan questioned.

"Maan, just eat a little. Who asked you eat the snacks? I only ate one because I know my family" Dadima responded.

"Because I came here straight after work, I was hungry" Maan murmured. "And I didn’t think they'd feed us dinner as well. How about you stay and eat, call me when you've finished?"

"And what will you do?" she arched her brows.

"Go home to my wife" Maan answered.

"I never thought I'd say this but you're a jodu ka Ghulam" Dadima grinned widely.

"Dadima" Maan scowled.

"Geet is entertaining her two friends tonight, so leave them be and stay here with me".

"What are you both whispering about?" Falak – dadima's niece asked.

"Nothing exciting, Maan is hungry" dadima answered grinning mischievously at her grandson who now looked annoyed.

"I'm going to leave you here" Maan hissed.

"Just try it bete" dadima challenged.

Maan clenched his jaw looking away, the woman doesn’t even waver under his stone hard gaze, even his wife used to do that. She used to he thought inwardly, now its him who gives in to whatever his wife asks.

"Have you had any update about this Arun guy?" Ranbir asked Araina as they walked towards her home.

"From what I know, he's visiting his probation officer on time. He's not allowed to step a foot outside of the city let alone the country" Araina replied. "I've got an old friend watching him on my behalf as well. He's a private investigator" she added.

"If anything changes, you're going to tell me, right?" Ranbir questioned. "I want to be there for you in case… I'm just concerned" he explained.

"I promise" Araina nodded in agreement.

"How is Amelia?" he questioned.

"She's okayish, she's engaging a lot more now thank goodness. I think she's really happy now knowing that Meera is expecting. The good news has been welcoming" she sighed.

"That's good, if you need anything let me know" he told her. "I'm going to swing by my sister's house, wanna come? She would appreciate it"

"Is everything okay?" Araina asked concerned.

"Yeah, she's just missing her dear husband who's gone on that business trip" Ranbir laughed.

"Yeah, I'd like to visit. I haven’t been to see your sisters for a while" Araina responded. "We'll take my car" she stated as they neared her house, she slipped into the house greeting her mother with Ranbir then informed her mother of her plans and left just as quickly.

"Meera, Amelia" Anisha called from downstairs.

"I'm going to check what aunty is calling for" Meera stood.

"I'll come with you, I've been just sleeping the morning away" Amelia slipped into her gown and followed Meera downstairs.

"Arre, you didn’t have to come down" Anisha looked between them. "What do you want for lunch?" she questioned.

"I'll help you" Meera told her and walked around, "Ames, what do you fancy?"

"I don’t mind" Amelia shrugged, "Can I do something?" she asked. "Else I'd be bored".

"Here, cut these carrots into cubes" Anisha told her, "Sit on the chair first".

Amelia settled on the chair, Anisha brought over the chopping board placing it in front of her on the table and handed her the knife with a couple of carrots.

"Have any of you spoke to Maan or Geet yet?" Anisha questioned.

"We called her phone a little while ago, but it'd gone to voicemail. She must be busy" Amelia answered.

"You've been talking?" Anisha looked at Amelia pleased, she knew that Amelia has been trying to maintain a distance and has not yet informed Geet.

Amelia nodded, "I miss her" she murmured.

"When they were here, everyone always gathered at the house just spending lots of time together" Anisha stated, "When it was just maaji, Maan and Vikrant, I only used to go and see maaji, Vikrant sometimes used to come here and see Karan. Other than the odd couple of days, we didn’t visit them so frequently. Geet came, and changed it all".

"She changed all thanks to us" Amelia credited herself grinning playfully.

"Mhmm" Anisha chuckled cupping her cheek and pressed a kiss to her forehead and slipped her arm around Meera's shoulder. "You girls have been the life in our family" she pressed a kiss to Meera's temple.

"Do you need me holding your hand, son?" Dadima questioned Maan as he climbed out of the car walking around and joining her side.

"Dadima, stop it" Maan frowned.

Dadima laughed shaking her head, Maan rolled his eyes sliding his arm around her shoulder and leading her inside their building.

"You must really regret eating the snacks now, don’t you?" she asked.

"Dadima" Maan warned narrowing his eyes.

"I love you too" Dadima patted his cheek lovingly.

Maan fought a smile, however failed and ended up chuckling. "I can believe Falak aunty is related to you, you used to feed guests like that".

"At least I don't shove a whole ghulab jamun in your mouth" she reminded how Falak shoved a ghulab jamun his mouth despite refusing to eat anymore.

"Don’t remind me, I'm so uncomfortable right now" Maan shook his head.

"Falak is really nice though" Dadima commented. "I think she fed you all the food that she couldn’t feed you over the years" she laughed.

"Ha ha ha very funny, dadima stop making stupid jokes. It's not funny anymore" he replied as the doors opened and they stepped inside the elevator. They moved further into a corner as others stepped inside.

"Have you gotten everything sorted out at the office?" Dadima questioned.

"Hmm, Arjun is going to email me if I've forgotten anything" he answered.

"At least your business is in good hands" she replied nodding her head.

"Adi will be coming down in a month's time as my proxy for a meeting" Maan informed, "So he'd be able to let me know if anything is wrong. I don’t think there will be, Arjun has been handling this branch since we've opened it 4 years ago" he added.

"That's good" Dadima nodded, they waited for the others to get down as they reached their floor, Maan and dadima stepped off last and noticed one of the women who had stepped off happened to be Gayatri. She eyed them and walked ahead towards Aditya and Sanjana's door.

Gayatri had overhead her son and mother in law talking whilst they'd waited for an elevator, she had witnessed the banter between them and had listened to them talking to one another in the elevator, they both being unaware of her presence due to the amount of people inside the elevator. She pondered silently whether her mother in law had a share in her son's business seeing as he casually talked business with her. She was snapped out of her thoughts when the door opened, she tensed in surprise noting Aditya had opened the door, behind him stood Samir, Taz, Sanjana and Maan's wife – Geet.

Chapter 140

"What are you doing here?" Gayatri narrowed her eyes at Geet.

Sanjana looked at Geet for a moment then cut in noticing Aditya about to respond, so she said "Aditya knows everything, it doesn’t matter why Geet is here now".

Gayatri stiffened and looked worried at her Aditya.

Aditya was once again about to speak, when Sanjana stepped forward grasping his arm squeezing him, he looked confused then looked at Gayatri.

"He knows what happened" Sanjana continued.

"A… Aditya, listen to me… It…" Gayatri stepped forward cupping his cheeks feeling her heart racing, if her husband came to find out he wasn’t going to sign the papers. "Look, I made a mistake. Maan's dad just died and he didn’t have anything left. He didn’t have any money or anything, how could I brought those two boys up alone? You understand right? Without money, we all would have been starving and Maan's dad didn’t have anything. He had no money, he couldn’t even pay the remaining mortgage of the house so we were going to be homeless".

Aditya tensed as he listened to the woman he'd come to love and trust. "So, you just left?"

"I did what I had to do to survive!" Gayatri answered. "And in India, I… probably would have had to sell myself to feed those boys" she snapped and looked at Geet. "You…" she pointed her finger at Geet. "You ruined everything".

Before Sanjana could come to her defence, Geet responded. "You ruined everything, I came to say goodbye" she stepped forward. Gayatri looked at the kitten cradled in Geet's arms then looked at Sanjana and Aditya. Geet moved forward stopping in front of Gayatri.

"You said, you would have had to sell yourself to survive. You could have just asked my husband, he would have given you the world. Money doesn’t bring happiness, it doesn’t buy love, it doesn’t buy family" she stated and walked out halting in the hallway seeing her husband and dadima stood near the front door.

Maan and Dadima happened to hear Gayatri yelling, they were about to ignore it until Sanjana mentioned Geet's name. Maan was about to turn and get his wife, when dadima placed her hand on his arm shaking her head. So, they listened quietly.

Maan sighed in relief when Geet walked out, he pulled his wife into his arms seeing her flustered and unshed tears in her eyes. "Come inside" he unlocked the door and let them inside. Taz excused herself squeezing Sanjana's arm in reassurance and walked out closing the door and returned to her apartment.

"Are you okay?" Maan questioned Geet taking Tinkerbell out of her arms and placing the kitten down then looked at his wife concerned.

"I'm okay now" Geet responded nodding her head and looked at her husband, "she made excuses for leaving you and Vikrant" she muttered.

"I don’t want that to concern you" Maan cradled her cheeks, "Forget it all, I want you to concentrate on leaving here. We're going back to India in a day's time" he smiled.

"Yes Geet" Dadima walked over squeezing Geet's shoulder in reassuring manner. "Bete, don’t worry yourself over the past. The past is the past, let's leave it there. Gayatri is a thing of our past and let's forget her".

Geet nodded and looked down at Tinkerbell who'd come near her feet mewling for attention.

"Hey baby" she crouched down picking her up into her arms. "Taz is going to keep her, Sanjana and Aditya were arguing over Tinkerbell just 10 minutes ago" she informed Maan and dadima. "Aditya is apparently allergic, Sanjana says he's lying" she chuckled. "I'm going to change" Geet told them walking into the bedroom with Tinkerbell.

"Geet bete, why don’t you take…" Dadima started.

"Dadima, I've got something I want to ask" Maan cut her off and glanced to their bedroom, Geet had closed the door.

"Why aren’t you taking Tinkerbell?" Dadima questioned crossing her arms.

"Because I hate her" Maan replied. "I don’t want that thing, have you seen the amount of cat hairs there is?" he gestured.

"Why isn't Geet pushing you?" Dadima arched her brows.

Maan didn’t answer, he looked away clearing his throat. "I've got some work…"

"Maan, tell me" Dadima squeezed his cheeks in making him face her.

"Because she doesn’t know that we're allowed to fly animals" he replied moving dadima's hands frowning at her and rubbing his cheek where she'd pinched him with her nails.

"Maan" Dadima looked at him disappointed.

"You're not going to tell her, dadima" Maan warned.

"Tell me what?" Geet walked out cradling Tinkerbell.

"Nothing" Maan shook his head, Geet looked between her husband and dadima and knew they were hiding something especially when dadima smiled sweetly at her then scowled at her husband. Something was wrong, they were definitely hiding something.

"Did you guys not pay your electricity bill or something?" Vikrant questioned as he met Karan as climbed out of his car.

"It's all paid" Karan frowned, "Why is the house all dark for?" he dug out his phone switching on the light.

"Are you asking me or is that a rhetorical question?" Vikrant questioned, "If it’s a question, you're wanting me to answer – I don’t know. I've just come home".

Karan frowned, "Is your wife turning you into a bigger weirdo than you already are?"

"It must be your girlfriend" Vikrant countered.

"I can't believe Meera dips her chips into ice cream" Karan shook his head as he approached the front door. He unlocked it and stepped inside trying to shine the light, he was taken by surprise when someone reached out delivering a punch across his cheek, his phone dropped, Vikrant screamed behind him and ran out.

"Vikrant!"

"Don’t judge me" he screamed even louder running down the footpath.

"F*ck" Karan yelled touching his jaw and looked around for his phone, the lights switched on. Amelia stood near the lights switch looking confused. Karan turned his head to the person who'd punched him and scowled.

"Meera?" he frowned.

"I'm so sorry, I thought you were a burglar" Meera looked apologetically.

"What's with the lights being off?" Karan questioned.

"We were all watching a horror movie, mama went to get more popcorn and I heard voices outside, so I got scared. The lights were still switched off" Meera explained. "When I heard you yell, I just froze knowing it was you" she muttered.

"You're not only weird, you're f*cking stupid as well" Karan muttered.

"Haww! Hey!" Meera crossed her arms, "I'm the most intelligent one here" she stated.

"Had it been a real burglar, I don’t think he would have let you get away from punching him" he rubbed his jaw climbing down the steps and sat down on the sofa. Amelia walked over sitting on the sofa biting her lip from laughing.

"I think you've got a bruise" she pointed to his jaw.

Karan glanced over at Meera scowling.

"Hey, it's not my fault" Meera shrugged and walked over settling on the corner and hugging her knees. "You should walk in normally"

"Which I did, you had the lights switched off" Karan replied. "And where has that coward run off to?" he looked for his phone. "Where's my phone?"

"I think its broken" Vikrant picked it up from the floor showing Karan the cracked screen. "Oh it works" he walked over handing it to Karan.

"Coward" Karan snapped his phone from Vikrant.

"What made you come back?" Amelia chuckled. "Your scream was so funny".

"I didn’t hear Karan screaming bloody murder so I assumed it was safe – I did consider for a moment he died but the lights turned on" he laughed.

"Ouch, you've got a bruise" Vikrant pointed as he sat besides his wife.

"Thanks to your intelligent wife" Karan muttered.

"Well, mama wanted to watch the film in the dark" Meera mumbled. "The film was scary and we've not even finished it".

"Mama? Your mother is here?" Vikrant questioned.

"Today, they've decided that Meera should have a mother in law" Anisha walked out with the popcorn bowl and handed the ice bag to Karan.

"Amelia wanted me to play the evil mother in law and boss her" she laughed sitting down handing the bowl to Meera, taking the ice bag from Karan she pressed it to his jaw.

"It's a good thing she didn’t aim for your nose. Maan had already broken it once" Anisha chuckled.

"Glad you're finding this amusing" Karan rolled his eyes.

"I love you too, son" Anisha smiled.

"What are you hiding from me?" Geet questioned entering their bedroom. She found Maan sat near the window staring out ahead at the dark skies that glittered with stars.

"Nothing" Maan responded glancing briefly at Geet then looked out again.

"Maan…" Geet approached him from behind pressing a kiss to his ear.

Maan smiled, he turned his head and brought Geet in front of him brushing her curls behind her ear. "What?"

"You and dadima are hiding something" Geet stated.

"You think?" Maan arched his brows, he tilted his head perusing his wife and slipped his hand beneath her vest teasing her warm abdomen with his slightly cold hand.

"Not think, I know so" Geet pulled his hand out scowling.

Maan straightened, he pulled the curtains closed and looked at his wife. "It's our last night, tomorrow evening we're setting off for India" he whispered. "We should…"

"Not until you tell me" Geet moved away from his embrace shaking her head. She walked around settling on the bed and grabbed her book from the nightstand, Maan smiled seeing his wife immersing her nose into her book.

"Okay, fine" Maan shrugged nonchalantly, he unbuttoned his shirt throwing it on the chaise longue at the end of their bed. He noticed Geet's eyes trying so hard to focus on the book, her fingers tightened around her book as well.

He smirked and continued to undress, he pulled off his black vest and pushed off his pants leaving him only in his boxers.

"Maan" Geet slapped her book over her face. "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing?" Maan questioned, Geet's cheeks reddened and heated when she felt his weight on the bed, she shuddered feeling him shifting close, his legs reached out brushing against her. Maan smiled, Geet didn’t move the book from her face.

He reached up taking the book from her hand placing it on the nightstand and looked at his wife who has now closed her eyes. He switched the night lamp off, their room now filled with darkness however there was a little light coming in.

"Come and sleep" Maan tugged her into his arms, she rested her head on his arm looking at his face.

"What?" Maan arched his brows.

"Aren't you going to tell me?"

"There's nothing to tell" he laughed.

"You're lying" Geet frowned.

"If you say so" he shrugged.

"Did you know that lying is very bad?" Geet asked.

"Oh, is it?" Maan looked at her innocently.

"Aap Amelia ke tara drama kar rahe hai" she scowled.

"Oh, please don’t compare me to that crazy friend of yours" he chuckled.

Geet sat up.

"What are you doing? Gussa ho?" he asked, he looked surprised when he saw his wife pulling off her vest, he felt her shoving her pyjamas down her legs.

"Geet… what are you doing?" Maan muttered.

"I'm feeling hot" she lay back down, Maan stared at his wife in disbelief.

Geet swallowed thickly, she wasn’t really feeling hot but she wanted to hear what her husband was hiding from her. She already tried her hand at seducing him last time but he didn’t answer, would this work again? she pondered silently.

The man was stubborn, she hoped this would work. She was feeling a little chilly, it was winter here in Manchester, so what was she even thinking? How was she going to make her husband succumb? She tugged the blanket higher to her neck turning on her side and curled up, sleeping in undergarments is not great in this weather.

Maan shifted spooning his wife.

"Don’t come near me until you're ready to tell me" Geet shifted away.

"C'mon Geet, you can't expect me to not to make a move when you're in almost nothing" Maan murmured brushing his lips across her neck and pressing gentle kisses along her shoulder, he brushed her hair away and continued to kiss her nape.

"Maan" Geet hissed and turned around facing him, her knee accidentally hit him.

"F*ck" Maan hissed cupping himself as he groaned.

"Oh… oh… I'm sorry" Geet sat up switching on the night lamp and looked at her husband. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" she apologised over and over.

"F*ck…" Maan hissed groaning.

"What can I do? Can I get you something? Do you want ice?" Geet panicked.

"No, Geet this isn't something you can just kiss and make it better" Maan answered squeezing his eyes closed. Geet's knee had hit him quite hard.

Geet bit her cheeks feeling embarrassed, and looked down at her husband who looked in pain. Maan snapped open his eyes as his eye looked amused and started laughing hysterically.

"You're laughing?" Maan looked at her bemused.

"I'm sorry" Geet laughed, she saw his face fall and he shook his head. "I'm sorry" she reached over cupping his cheek and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "It's just so funny… your face.." she pointed laughing even more.

"Geet" Maan scowled.

"Smile" Geet pulled at both corners of his mouth. "I love you" she laughed.

Maan rolled his eyes, Geet smiled shifting and resting her head on his chest.

"Hug me properly, I'm feeling cold" she told him shoving her legs between his entangling their legs together.

"Wanna wear your clothes?" Maan asked.

"I like your body heat" Geet admitted smiling.

"How about I warm you up even more?" Maan questioned tugging her bra strap down her arm, he arched his brow teasingly.

"Are you going to be able to function?" Geet snickered.

"Is that a challenge?" he countered.

Geet smiled throwing her arm around his neck and pulled him close, she smiled kissing him hard, Maan chuckled climbing over his wife cradling her nape and responded passionately.

Lovely updates, atlast with out much struggle Gayatri herself spotted the truth. That women is really a shame on motherhood, I so hate her. It is so nice Geet opened up to her friends. Maan is so cheeky, he did not say to geet that they can take pets and I wonder how will geet geet react when she knows the truth. I am so excited to think about the reunion. But I think Maneet will be hurt that the family hid things from them.

Please do keep me posted with updates I really love this FF:
