I love your analysis of how nature reflects her emotions... definitely something pure and serene about the night sky and the waves, as if they portray so clearly what we try to hide within ourselves. I think you'll really enjoy the next part

The sea had witness both of them been happy and romantic while now
it witnesses her sadness yet the sea remains the same unmoved still beautiful
after Geet signed the divorce papers she headed for the sea shore while it seems
Maan too knew she would be there
they have been married for five years and something must have went wrong as their were expecting a divorce for the last two years
waiting to know what has happened between them

2 - The Brother's Wife

A moment of silence passed between them, and then her hand struck his cheek with all the frustration and heartache that was simmering inside of her, clawing to be released.

He opened his mouth to protest but she shoved him aside; however his reflexes were too quick for her and he deftly grabbed her upper arm, causing him to crash into his chest.

"Let go of me, she gritted, beating at his chest with her fists, the hot tears threatening to thrust from her pupils.

"Geet, will you just stop for a second? he pleaded, but she continued, until he grabbed her shoulders and shook her back to sanity.

"I'm sorry, he said, his hand moving up towards her cheek to caress her but she turned her face away in retortion.

"No you're not. This is what you wanted all along.

"I never wanted to see you so hurt and broken.

And then the barracaded tears flew, like a stream on a spring's day, and it broke his heart to see her so shattered.

Her legs almost gave way with the pain that was consuming her whole did she want to sink to the sand in defeat? Did she want him to hold out his hand and help her stand back up on her two feet, or did she want him to sink beside her and hold her close until the sun of another day gave her the clarity she craved?

He wanted nothing more to engulf her in his hold, to let her forget her pain as she buried her face in his neck, to let the tightening of his arms around her body protect her from all the evils of the world.

But his fingers fisted into his palms as he was well aware that he couldn't be the one to bring her peace, especially as he had been the one to place her in her desolate situation.

Almost as if she read his thoughts, Geet's tear stricken eyes met Maan's pained ones.

"Why did you have to kiss me all those years ago, Maan? I was your brother's wife, for God's sake!

Perhaps not the bombshell you were expecting...

Looking forward to the comments on this one! And a huge thank you for the interest that's been shown so far, hopefully you won't hate me too much with the twist at the end there!

Well that was what i thought exactly when she signed Geet singh khurana...

Coz here in our dear forum we are kinda fond of the name Geet maan Singh Khurana 😆

And jab koi writer maan ka naam omit kardeti hai tho it becomes a hint in itself🤣

Baaki too bad maan kissed his bhai's wife morals and ethics naam ki bhi koi cheez hoti hai Maan😡

On a serious note..

Interesting part... Conflicting emotions, pain and longing perfectly placed...

Nice part!

Waiting for the next twist😛😆

just read Part 2 now - what a twist! Geet getting divorced from Maan's brother! Geet upset with Maan! he cannot see her in pain! he tries 2 console her! Geet confronts Maan about the kiss! update soon! please add me 2 ur pm list if u do have one! thanks

I'm not, shall we say, a conventional writer... I like writing about the complex, painful, deep issues which leave you depressed and contemplating for days 😆

I should have actually mentioned beforehand, this is a short story so the updates will be short and sweet, like the story itself. Think of it as a snippet from the bigger picture. I'm not sure I'm making much sense anymore but it makes sense in my head lol
