Walking to and fro in his room ,Maan waited for Geet and Dev to arrive, all other slept but he was worried for Geet, it was not that he was jealous of Dev for being with Geet, he has already accepted them together, it was his fault to fall for her not her's, he was just waiting to see her safe and sound..., soon he heard car horn , immediatedly moving to window he watched Dev along with few of his friends getting out of the car, one of his friend was saying something to guard while Dev stood beside him..., his eyes searched for Geet but not finding her he was restless..
Maan- where is Geet??, worried about her he left downstairs to ask Dev..
Reaching downstairs he found Dev moving towards his room, he called..
Maan- Dev?
Dev- bro, you are awake till now??, as he spoke Maan got to know that he consumed alcohol, he wanted to scold him for that but at that moment his main concern was Geet..
Maan- where is Geet, dev??
Dev- Geet??,( he tried to remember but his intoxicated state didn't allowed him to think much), must be in her room..., hearing his this reply Maan knew he is of no help and he didn't want to waste his more time
Maan- okay!, saying so he left leaving a confused Dev behind..
Taking his car Maan left in search of Geet, he thought to trace her college path as there was possibility to find her in between..
Maan- where are you geet???, looking at both sides of roads he tried to locate her, his car was in its extreme speed while his eyes were not leaving a single place to look for her, as his eyes landed on her under a shed , his car stopped with a jerk, not even caring to park the car somewhere , he immediatedly marched towards her
Maan- here you are...finally!, he sighed in relief , Geet was surprised to see him there..
Maan- Geet do you know what time is it, do you know how worried i was for you..for a second i thought...but you are so careless.., and there he goes on while Geet kept looking at him, out of sudden it started raining heavily which diverted both their minds...
Maan- god this rain..isse bhi abhi...,( but he was cut in between as he saw her moving out of the shed) Geet..., he called to stop her but his words fell on deaf ears as Geet was under pouring sky, she looked at sky for a second and then stretching her arms she drenched herself, Maan who stood few meters away from her watched her, he didn't understand her behaviour, first her silence and now this.., he was thinking this only when he found her thumping on ground on her knees, her palms which few seconds back were collecting water drops now covered her face as she cried her heart out..., finding her in that state he ran to her , not caring about rain he rushed to her.., kneeling beside her, he called her, his heart cried along with her, he felt helpless to see her like that..
Maan- geet.., (he tried to grab her palm so that he can make her look at him..., as she looked at him he asked...)kya hua..why you are..., but she didn't utter anything rather hugged him and held him tightly, surprising him..
Geet- why..wh..why it always happens with me..., don't i deserve anyone in my life..eve..everyone leav..leaves me...why??...am i that bad??, (her voice choaked while saying so, her words pained him alot)..what bad i did??, i always follow elder's words never disobey them still i'am punished why??, am i so bad??, she cried in his arms..., not able to bear her pain he himself engulfed her in her arms and tried to console her with his words..
Maan- no Geet you are not bad...
Geet- no i am bad that's why i'am getting all this punishment..babaji snatched my parents, then my di and now...i am bad...i m bad..., she chanted , her continous chants pained him , separating her from his, he took her face in his palms and made her look at him..
Maan- look at me , you are not bad..you are special..special for me.., these words came directly from his heart.., Geet for a second looked at him but then thought something else..
Geet- no you are lieing..just to make me feel better.., she complained, Maan felt offended in way she denied as he really meant it..., grabbing her arms he brought her back under the shed and ordered her
Maan- dare you again go in that rain.., hearing him shout her eyes again filled with tears,seeing her like that Maan regretted his words..
Maan- geet...
Geet(her voice choked)- no it's okay.., she moved forward and stood at the edge of the shed looking out at heavy rain..., Maan crused him for shouting at her and then went behind her..
Maan- Geet...won't you tell me what's the matter.. like always...
Geet- no..nothing..., she tried to supress her cry , Maan softly made her turn towards him and asked..
Maan- don't you consider me as your friend now??,( Geet looked at him briefly), may be i can slove it this time too...( he smiled slightly just to make her feel better, his tenderness touched her heart, he gave her strength and assurance to her to pour her heart to him, crying she said everything to him...
Geet- now tell me was i wrong in doing all this..was i wrong to impress him..was i wrong to think him as my life partner...,was i wrong to think that after my parents one day i will have him who will belong to me.. all my life i was taught this only and today everything seems a lie...a brutual lie...he doesn't belong to me..he never thought about me...he never weaved dreams like me, if he would have then..
Maan- Geet...
Geet- actually it's my mistake only i should have known where i stand..,now everyone will blame me only.. Maan rolled his eyes at her assumptions
Maan- stop blaming yourself Geet you are not at fault!
Geet- no its..
Maan- no you are not at fault..look at me and listen you are not at fault!
Geet- then why he..
Maan- do u know your di never loved me, in order to make her understand it automatically came out of his mouth, he realized it later but then didn't regret it as he felt she needs to know it..
Geet- what?
Maan- yes Reet never loved me, tell me Geet was i not suitable for Reet??, did i lack something in me??
Geet- but..
Maan- no first answer me did i lack something in me ,was i not up to the standards of your di??
Geet- no..
Maan- see.. she still never loved me..i too weaved dreams with her like you did with Dev but she never loved me..she loved someone else..
Geet- di...but why...i...,you..i.., she was so shocked to say anything..
Maan-like me you too don't lack anything Geet..you tried your best..think Dev is not best for you..he is not destined with you...you were never at fault!, but all that didn't matter to her as now she was shocked to hear his revelation..
Geet- di never told..and if..
Maan- i know you have lot of questions Geet..i came to know about all this after our engagement , i was broken i acused her and what not, frankly speaking i was too weak to bear a it all, she was my best friend and she lied to me, i hated her for that..but later i understood her situation , she was never at fault, she never wanted to hurt me..that time i never thought from her perspective..i regret it today..i regret my weakness..because of me she left us..because of my hurry..i wish i was strong enough to face her...
Geet- why you are saying that she left us because of you...
Maan- i only preponed her flight tickets Geet i am the culprit..
Geet- if that's the case then i should blame myself for maa- paa deaths, i complelled them to bring ice cream for me while coming home, if i wouldn't then they would have never entered in that lane and died..
Maan- Geet..
Geet- after their death i told di about this , you know what she said..
Maan- what??
Geet- she said babaji decided this only..for them..we humans can't do much in that case.., if di had power to come back then she would have to repeat the same for you..if i can understand this much then you should too, promise me you will never ever blame yourself for di's death!
Maan- Reet would not blame for all that, he was still unsure
Geet- no never i know my di!, she assured him with her innocent which somewhere compelled him to believe her
Maan- i will if you promise me something!
Geet- me??,( to which he nodded his head), what??
Maan- promise me that from now on you will do what your heart will say..i know till now you were just doing everything as everyone excepted you to do but not anymore.. no need to hear what elders say, they are not going to live your life, its you who have to bear everything...
Geet- but..
Maan- but nothing..it's not bad to say no.., when you know what you want..,try once!
Geet- but what will they think??
Maan- doesn't matter..do what your heart says, sometimes its a bliss to obey your heart!, his words left Geet in deep thoughts, meanwhile rain stopped ,Maan asked her to leave for home, she nodded and followed him.., whole night she thought about his words and finally came to a decision..
Next Day
Geet went to Dev's room
Geet- dev..
Dev- tum..where you got lost last night ??
Geet- i came back early..
Dev- oh...but let me tell you..you were..but she cut him in between..
Geet- Dev..sorry to interrupt but i came here to inform you something..
Dev- what??
Geet- oh..last night when i was returning back i saw an accident..
Dev- oh so??
Geet- it was a major accident and the person who got injured was from our college only..i took her to hospital but doctor said she was too critical..
Dev- Geet why are you telling all this to me??
Geet- isn't NT your friend??
Dev- NT??
Geet- yes NT is the girl who met with an accident, i don't know whether she is alive or..., but she was sharply cut in between..
Dev- Shut up Geet..do you even know what you are saying??
Geet- i was just..(but she stopped as she found him leaving for somewhere..), where are you going??
Dev- to see her!
Geet- you can't, i have something important to discuss with you..
Dev- geet are you out of your mind or what..there NT is..and you , you are sick!, saying so he took a step to go but her next set of words stopped him..
Geet- i thought after breaking up .. you don't care about her but guess i was wrong!
Dev- what..what you said??, he looked bit shocked
Geet- the truth!, (looking directly at him she said, her direct gaze intimidated him and he averted his gaze from her..) you love NT, right??
Dev- what nonsense!
Geet- yes you do!
Dev- i seriously don't have time to hear your nonsense Geet..i am going!
Geet- won't you ask the hospital's name!, her this statement left Dev baffled
Dev- i..mm..what's the name?
Geet- no need i was lieing just to see you care about her or not but see you care about her so much that in you worry you forget to ask hospital's name not only care.. you are possesive about her too , i saw that last night only!
Dev- Geet you..
Geet- Dev understand yourself.., it's just your ego which is not allowing you to surrender yourself to your deep feelings, the kind of friends you have , will come and go but someone like NT will never come back in your life Dev.. she is the one who loves you truly, she changed herself just to get your love, she scarified for you...you still have time..don't degrade yourself more!
Dev- you too were..
Geet- yes i too was trying to impress but you know what whatever i did was just to prove you that i was worth you..nothing was from my heart, it was just my ego which i wanted to statisfy but she did all that out of love not like me...you are lucky to have her Dev, please don't let her go..you still have time..
Dev- you are going to marry me then..
Geet- no i am not..
Dev- what??
Geet- i can't because i don't want to bind you in a relation where i won't be able to give my 100% , if i say yes our lives will be spoiled.., i just came here to inform you about my decision and suggest you about NT, everything is in your own hands Dev, hope you take a wise decision!, saying so she left from there!
Maan who was passing from there heard it all and felt proud of Geet that she finally decided for herself.., when suddendly he heard his dadima..
Dadima- you love her right?
Maan(shocked at revelation)- what...who said that to you??
Dadima- Dadima hai aap ki..aapki aakhe padh sakte hai..
Maan- kya aap bhi.., denying her he thought to leave.. but her next step of words stopped him..
Dadima- now what is stopping you Maan..neither she loves Dev nor Dev loves her so..what's stopping you..go and confess..
Maan- she doesn't love Dev okay but are you confirm that she loves me??
Dadima- but..
Maan- Dadima please i just don't want to spoil our friendship just because of my feelings..

Maan- and please Dadima i request you not to tell anything to Geet and pressurize her again with our exceptations ,now only she had learned to live on her own terms let her decide what she wants!, saying so he left!
