Sitting in lawn , Dadima was lost in her thoughts when saw Geet coming back from her college, walking slowly due to her wound, when she asked in morning Geet didn't tell the actual cause of it but Dadima knew how she got that injury as last night she witnessed her and her elder grandson tom and jerry chase around the house but that moment she didn't disturbed them as she herself was enjoying the scene infront of her and the cherry on top was seeing her Maan like that, behaving like a five year old child...

She was really thankful to Geet for bringing out that childish Maan,seing them like that somewhere she felt that Geet is the one who can bring that old Maan back, she felt Geet can fill the void of friend in Maan's life, the hope to see her Maan back to normal was lightened in her heart and the reason was Geet...

Geet walked to Dadima wishing her goodevening she settled herself on other chair opposite to Dadima...

Dadima- tired??

Geet- a bit..

Dadima- how is your injury??

Geet- much better..

Dadima- Maan had bandaged nicely na??, she said surprising Geet, surprised by her words Geet looked at her..

Geet-mm..Dadi..., she stumbled..

Dadima(chuckling)- i caught your lie, right?

Geet(making a face)- Maan told you??

Dadima- i so wish he would...but you know him right, he hardly talks anything other than work...

Geet- then how?

Dadima- last night i witnessed it all...

Geet- oh..

Dadima(holding her hand in her's)-and i want to thank you for stopping him..

Geet- kya dadima you say na i belong to this family so its my duty to stop them if they are going on right path , na??

Dadima- hmm..., sadly she nodded.., seeing her sad Geet asked..

Geet- kya hua dadima you look worried, anything wrong??

Dadima- today you stopped him but what about future...i'm worried about Maan's future..it has been 5 years but still he didn't move on..., i don't understand what's holding him back...don't take me wrong Geet but i know Maan loved Reet but now she is no more and Maan has his whole life to live but he is...she sighed sadly..

Geet- hmm..i can understand Dadima, and i also hope Maan moves on in his life...

Dadima- you know last night when i saw him chasing you i got glimpse of that old Maan , for the first time in these five years i genuniely felt he soley was there not lost in his past memories...you brought that old Maan back Geet...

Geet- me??

Dadima- yes!, Geet i feel you are the one who can bring Maan back and encourage him to move on!

Geet- but me??..how??

Dadima- you already study with him , just try to spend more time with him , talk to him, indulge him in some activities, do anything...

Geet(scared) no..he already scolds me to even uttering a word and you are saying to spend more time with him!

Dadima- come'on Geet i know you can!

Geet- have you seen him, he looks so dangerous, his big big eyes , babaji after so many days he is normal with me and you must have seen last night how rude he got with me and..., but Dadima cut her in between

Dadima- but later he cured your injury, right??

Geet- hai but..

Dadima- but what?? (seeing Geet still in delima , she continued), accha tell me do you consider Maan as your friend??

Geet- yes..

Dadima- Geet i wouldn't have ask for your involvement in this, but you know how reserve Maan is , you know when you and Dev were not born , Maya , Raj, Me and Mohinder were busy in instablising our company while at home Rano used to look after Reet and Maan, from that time only Maan and Reet became friends, i know they(raj and Maya) are his parents but what he sahred with Rano and Reet was different , he never got close with his parents and about Dev he was always busy in his own life, after Rano, it was only Reet with whom he used to share everything, with Reet not only his love but his friend too left, i'm just saying you to fill the void of friend in his life, i think if he will get a friend with whom he can share his worries, happiness , like before then it would be easy for him to move on...you consider him as your friend but i want Maan too to consider you as his friend...you are my last hope Geet...

Geet thought on Dadima words , somewhere she too felt what she is saying is right afterall how long will he live like this, if Dadima belives she can help Maan then she should atleast try , more than shouting and getting angry on her what more can he do..nothing and now she is used to his angry glares and rude words so there is not much harm...

Geet- i think i can try...but i don't know it will work or not..., Geet was not that sure..

Dadima- really?? you will try??

Geet- hmm will try..

Dadima- thank you Geet..and don't worry i will protect you if he cross his limits and hurt you then you are free to withdrawal!

Geet- hmm..

Later in night

Geet along with Dadima came in dinning area hoping to see everyone there but were surprised to see it almost empty, only Maya was present there, busy in arranging bowls and plates...

Dadima- Maya just you, where are others?

Maya- Maan has arrived,i have asked Nakul to call him for dinner, Raj haven't come yet and Dev as usual is out..

Dadima settled on her chair ,while Geet helped Maya..

Dadima- oh..., but Raj is always on time..did he inform anything??

Maya- I called but he didn't picked up..

Dadima(worried)- where is he??

Maya- Maa ji don't worry he must be busy in some work, Maya tried assure her, but at same time Raj arrived...

Raj- Maa I'm here!!, happily he said

Dadima- you got late today??

Raj- was instructing staff about tomorrow's party!

Hearing "party" everyone gave him a surprised expression, seeing their surprised state he asked..

Raj- don't tell me Maan didn't tell anything??

Maya- about what??

Raj- god this boy!

Dadima- Raj stop talking in riddles!

Raj- Maa our company got a 400 crore deal today and to celebrate this success I'm throwing a party for our staff tomorrow, that's why I got late...

Maya(surprised)- 400 crore deal!

Raj- yes..and credit goes to Maan, its was his hard work which paid off, I'm really proud of him..,( while saying so he saw Maan who was coming downstairs and questioned him), Maan why didn't you share your achievement with your family??

Maan- a..dad it's just..it's not that important.., but Dadima cut him inbetween

Dadima- Maan..it's a really big thing, we are proud of you!

Raj- yes, and I hope you are attending tomorrow's party?

Maan- Dad I already have a client meeting tomorrow night so..

Raj- cancel it..I don't think it's that urgent!

Maan- dad you know I don't cancel my meetings!

Raj- but.., but Maan cut him in between..

Maan- Dad please party is for our staff, their enjoyment is important not mine so...(sighing) can we please start dinner..

Raj- work is important but you should learn to relax and enjoy too..., but Maan ignored his words and started his dinner and that was end of their conversation, none spoke after that nor pressurized Maan for attending the party...

While Geet witnessed it all silently..

Study Room

Placing his coffee mug on table Geet sat on her respective place, she looked at him briefly , which didn't go unnoticed by Maan

Maan- what?, his sudden question made her to avert her gaze from him..,while Maan shook his head at her antics, after a brief pause Geet uttered..

Geet- you don't like parties??

Maan- I know what you are trying to ask, and I think I have already answered your question downstairs!

Geet- but little bit fun won't harm you..

Maan- my work is fun for me which I love to do! now you concentrate in your book instead of wasting your and my time!, his stern reply was enough for her to keep quiet!

Next Evening

Geet was in her room when Dev knocked on her room's door..

Geet- tum??

Dev- yeah!..a..this is for you..(he passed a large box wrapped in shiny wrapper), Geet was surprised to see she thought that he really remembered her..but even before she could think Dev broke her thought..

Dev- woh...you must be coming along with us for party tonight, and I'm sure Mom and Dadima will surely introduce you as my fiance to their friends and all our staff..everything is okay but your dress...I mean you will a salwar suit as usual for the party too..seeing you in that what will others think.. that's why I bought this dress for you..wear it for the party, okay!

Geet- Dev I'm not coming for the party!

Dev- why??

Geet- I have an assignment to finish up by tomorrow!

Dev- what a stupid reason..bunk that class tomorrow..

Geet- I don't bunk classes..

Dev- okay as you wish.., but take this..

Geet- but..,she tried to deny but Dev cut her..

Dev- come'on Geet you definitely need these kind of dresses if not today , some other day when you will accompany me you will need it, take it as a valentine gift from my side, winking at her he left not allowing her to speak..

Geet- uff...why don't he listen.., she looked at the gift in her hand, a mocking smile appeared on her face..

Geet(st)- and I thought he remembered my birthday, stupid Geet, she slapped her head mocking herself.., let me see how is this dress.., when at the same time Dadima came inside..

Dadima- Geet what I'm hearing..you are not coming with us??

Geet- Dev told you??

Dadima- yes but you should come!

Geet- I wish Dadima but assignment is important.. I have to submit it by tomorrow..

Dadima- but it would have been good if you would have joined us..

Geet- next time for sure!

Dadima- there I was telling you to change Maan and here its you who is becoming like him workcohlic!

Geet- kya Dadima.. I can never be boring like him!, she cutely complained which made Dadima to chuckle

Dadima- Geet aap bhi..okay I will tell Nakul to prepare dinner for you, as Maan will be out for his client meeting toh unhe bhi late hoga..so take care and sleep well okay!

Geet- ji..

Few hours Later

Carrying her stuffs in hand, Geet came in hall, finding a spot for herself opposite to Nakul (who was busying in peeling vegetables for dinner) she settled herself and started her assignment

Nakul(chuckled)- you really can't stay alone..

Geet- I think I'm too extrovert..I can't stay alone..by the way kaka don't you think the amount of veggies are more for two of us??

Nakul- not two...three!

Geet- three??

Nakul- Maan sir is back!

Geet- so soon??, he was having a client meeting/dinner to attend, na??

Nakul- I think it got cancelled, that's why he is back..

Geet- you are too innocent kaka, I'm sure he lied to escape from party!, thoughtfully she said

Maan- stop using your useless brain Geet!, came a strong reply from her back , It was Maan who came there after freshing up..while Geet bit her tongue for uttering that in his presence..but then how can she leave it there only she questioned back..

Geet- then how come you came so early??

Meanwhile Maan settled himself in living area , grabbing TV's remote he switched it on..

Geet waited for his reply but he didn't she asked again..

Geet- you are not answering that's means I'm right!

Maan rolled his eyes on her assumptions while trying to focus on news channel

Geet- come'on admit it!, her continuous rants were now making it impossible for him to hold back plus he was not even able to concentrate on news..giving up he finally spoke..

Maan- will just stop...client at the last minute csncelled the meeting for a stupid reason, that's why i have to come back

Geet- stupid reason, what??

Maan- suddenly my client's wife made him remember it's valentine today and he has to take her out!

Geet- really..how sweet ...

Maan made a face thinking what's sweet in it...

Maan- if your questions are over focus on your assignment!

Geet- how you know i'm doing an assignment??, another question popped out but to Maan's relief Nakul who was busy in enjoying Maan's plight answered her..

Nakul- I told him..

Geet- oh...

Satisfied by his answer, Geet got busy in completing her assignment, while Maan thanked god for this..

Few minutes Later

All were busy in their respective works, Nakul left to kitchen ,Maan was busy watching news while Geet was almost done with assignment, when the landline ringed grabbing their attention..

Picking it up Maan answered it..

Maan- hello.., a sweet voice answered

Otherside- Geet Di hai??, Maan looked at Geet while she wondered why he is looking at her..

Maan- may I know who it is??

Otherside- Geet Di hai kya ??, came the same reply.., not questioning further he called Geet..

Maan- Geet it's for you..

Geet- me?? kon hai??

Maan- how would I know, take it!, Coming to him she took it and answered..

Geet- hello..

Otherside- Di...

Geet- titto!!, she happily identified him,while Maan wondered who is this titto??

Geet- how are you and..., but he cut her inbetween

Titto- Di wait.., she heard some hustle bustle and then heard..

Happy Birthday Di!!!, it was both Raji and Titto(Geet's cousins who shouted together, they were so loud that Maan too heard it, surprised by the revelation he looked at Geet, who looked bit emotional)

Geet(choked)- you bo..both remember??

Raji- how can we forget it Di, we are missing you so much...

Geet (smiled through her tears and answered)- me too miss you both..

Titto- Di we were going to wish you in morning only but Darji was out, that's why we didn't get the number but now only he came that's why we got late.., he gave their reason..

Geet- it's okay my cuties I love you both..

Raji- we too love you..kash aap yaha hoti toh hume hamesha ki tarah treat milti..,I miss those days.. sadly she said..

Geet- aww..I too miss them..aur batao sab kaise hai waha??

Raji- everyone is good here, they too asked us to wish you from their side.. ,accha di its a big city it would have been more fun to celebrate your birthday there na?? but before Geet could answer Darji came there and Raji handed phone to him , Geet talked to him, he wished and blessed her, and after few more questions she hanged the call..,after talking to them she felt good..as she kept the receiver down Maan questioned her..

Maan- it's your birthday??

Geet- hmm..,she simply answered, Maan felt bad for not remembering it.., he felt bit awkward in her presence right now..

Maan- a..aa.., he was not getting what to say, understanding him she spoke..

Geet- it's okay, don't feel guilty for not remembering it!

Maan- nahi it's not...no one wished you here ??

Geet- it's long time na..here no one remembers..but it's okay..even I didn't tell anyone so it's okay..

Maan- you felt bad??

(To be frank she felt bit bad but she understands it's not necessary for them to remember her birthday plus it has been 5 long years since she is living away from them..so it's okay)

Geet- not much, if it would have been mom dad or Di then I would have been upset but..,her voice choked while speaking it but she controlled

Maan- you miss them.., not able to voice it out she just shook her head in no..

controlling her tears to not to flow..

Maan- Geet..

Geet- enough..you are making me emotional now..let's change the topic.., she innocently complained while wiping her tears..,

Geet- you know Dev bought me a gift!

Maan- he remembered your birthday??

Geet- no his gift was for some other purpose..

Maan- oh...(after a pause),so they were cousins??

Geet- yes Raji and Titto!

Maan- interesting names!..what were they saying??

Geet- nothing much, wished me and said they are missing my birthday treats..and how I celebrated my birthday, etc etc...

Maan- oh...you miss your cousins??

Geet- hmm..we would have went out today..., remembering the past memories she spoke..

Maan didn't like this sad and lost Geet, maybe because now he is used to that cheerful Geet, plus he even felt bad for not remembering her birthday, he wanted to bring that real smile back on her face , he thought of something..

Maan- is your assignment complete?

Geet- almost, why??

Maan- would you like to go out today?

Geet(shocked)- you will take me out??

Maan- yes..as it's your birthday and.., Geet in her excitement cut him in between..

Geet- OMG..i'm going to get ready then how knows you might change your mind !, she got up to leave..

Maan- first complete your assignment!

Geet- little bit is left I will complete it in morning!, with that she ran to get ready..

Maan- this girl!
