Just came across this story..reading now.

Prologue

the wordings, it is beautifully written...Geet's loss and the lost state. She knew that the chances of his survival are less, but no one is prepared for such things..there is always a hope, even in its smallest form to help rule out the worse fears..
and Vicky, the mindset he carried about savoring each moment of life till its last breath, very few people can do that.

Part 1

and there is Maan, the way he calmed and consoled her, he understands and shares her grief to the same extent..
"he had more to live for than me", this alone was enough to give away the feelings he harbored and lived with.
Feeling a bit jealous about Vicky, yet being happy for them both makes him a real, noble character. Living though a heart break, still staying near to her or continuing the same friendship bond with both of them is not easy, yet he has done that..now also, when he wants to hold her to console for removing every pain that reaches to her, he cannot do so and is using small ways as possible..but his words are most effective to her in this situation.

loved the way you narrated the dynamics between Maan, Geet and Vicky since their college days..the depth of friendship between Geet and Maan, and that of love between Geet and Vicky...and their place in Geet's life.

she is conscious about Vicky's absence in her life, while Maan trying to lighten the moments to get her back to normalcy.

the beginning quote used suits the chapter and to Maan, the way he tries to keep his feelings at the bay every time and yet could not stop but yearn for it.
seems Annie knows the secret, and Maan seems to have known about it..hope she will help in her own way for Maaneet.

it was good that Annie confronted Maan to confirm her doubt and discuss the issue in open
Knowing Maan, he will never accept it in open nor will share his pain with anyone.
Geet's state is saddening, the acute loneliness hit her recollecting Vicky's words.
did he also know about Maan's feelings, he wanted to say something to her, but seems he decided to leave the decision to her..

that is true for what Geet said and the way Annie tried to make her understand in reply..Vicky and his place in her life can never be replaced, but then there could be someone else who can create his place in her life.

and I like Maan and Geet friendship..less with words but they understand each other so well..
in such a simple way she explained him to look at the other side for holding grudge against his father..
All three of them, Maan, Geet and Vicky hold a special bond and relation with each other..sometimes as complex as it can get and sometimes so smooth.

Geet had a crush on Maan, that is really a surprise, but kind of realistic..

the past scene is perfect to show how the equation between them changed from infatuation to best friends from Geet's perspective..
Maan, not being vocal or expressive, when called it as friendship, that would have cleared her mind to think it in any other way than best friends while the attraction grew more for Vicky that turned into love..

That bewildered look on Maan's face after knowing the little secret from Geet's side that she had a crush on him..must have given him surprise and comfort at the same time..
Waiting for his reaction after this..
