CHAPTER 6

"Dekho Maan, we don't beat around the bush, so we'll directly ask you," Yash said to Maan once their greeting session was over as they waited for their Miss.

"Now what???" Maan asked, although he had an inkling of what was going to come next. He knew Yash was sharp minded - like him, he thought. No wonder, despite his pranks and immaturity at many instances, they were friends.

"Ummm!!! Leave him Maan Ss...M-Ma-aan!!!" Adi stuttered, not wanting them to question Maan. Them grilling him that morning was enough for the day. But at least, I stayed firm and managed being mum, he told himself with an imaginary thumbs up. "Jab bhi mooh kholta hai, bakwaas hi bolta hain and y..." he stopped himself, gulping hard as he received a glare from him and quietly regained his seat beside Maan.

"Stop glaring at him," Maan ordered. He always felt protective towards him, just like he felt for his siblings. After all, Adi was no less than a brother too him, a highly supportive one, that is. "And, what did you have to ask?" he added in a low voice not wanting to draw attention from others on their conversation.

"Fine!!! Toh phir Miss Geet ke saath tumhare kya chakkar hai," Dev asked this time without losing time. Arjun, all the while, stayed behind them, not wanting to be in the bad books of Maan, ever.

"Yea, tell us," Yash added before Maan could reply.

"Listen!!! Stay within your limits. It's none of your concern," Maan hissed not wanting to disclose every details of his personal life. "And d...," There she was - looking stunning in her white dress. White...wait...WHITE DRESS!!! Then it struck him. It's that dress. The one he gifted her. Minimal makeup and a ponytail... just the way he likes it.

"Geet!!! Jab khulle baal sambhal nahi sakte, toh aise khulle kyun rakti ho," he asked her on their way to the charity event, as they sat in the back seat of his black Mercedes- her favourite like she once told him, while she kept brushing her hair and set it right for the nth time. Thankfully he decided to take his driver on that day. This way, he managed to hold a conversation with her all throughout their drive without having to focus on the road.

"Just shut up Maan!!!" she replied in an annoyed tone, already fed up with her hair which kept flowing in all directions causing tangles due to the windy weather. She was thankful she didn't go to a hair salon as suggested by Pinky - at least her money did not go wasted, she thought grumpily.

"What shut up," he immediately retorted. "Waise bhi, I like it when you tie your hair in a ponytail, the way you did in KCABA's last Annual Party. I feel you look prettier when those stupid tresses do not partially hide your face, so yea you should tie it," he told her cheekily while Geet just looked at him weirdly.

"And just why are you staring at me like that," he asked not understanding her expression.

"You know what Maan," she began, " I've always been hearing that usually males, normal ones, I mean," she added with a grin which drew a groan from him, "like seeing females in open hair. And you're just the opposite. So I was thinking are you for real? And yes, I did that in the party, because I was feeling hot after all the organising, which by the way I did for free, if you still remember. Now that I think of it, you should have paid me for organising the event. So much for cost-cutting," she mumbled the last part.

"Geeet!!!!! I heard the last part," he said glaring at her. "And in case YOU forgot, YOU volunteered for that because YOU suggested on the cost-cutting strategy," he clearly emphasised on the YOU word fully intending to remind her it was all HER idea. "And just why are we discussing this right now??? I clearly remember talking about your open hair," he added irritatingly. Kiss baat ko kahan se kahan le jaate hai yeh ladkiyan.

"Whatever!!!" she shrugged him off as she continued brushing her hair.

Nonetheless, she did tie her hair up when they eventually reached the event- like he wanted. So much for arguing with him in the first place. Girls!!!

"Mooh toh band karlo Maan, if you don't want to make it look that obvious," Maan was taken out of his reverie with Yash's comment.

"Just get lost," he growled at him in an attempt to hide his embarrassment. His red cheeks, however, didn't go unnoticed by Geet who kept looking at him from the corner of her eyes as she walked towards her table. Toh fark parta hai Mister ko, she thought with a smirk adorning her lips.

"Good Morning class," she greeted them as she took her seat which was reciprocated collectively.

Chal Maan!!! Focus!!!

"... and suggest a process for evaluating, selecting and implementing a software package solution and explain how this process would have prevented the problems experienced at Bridge Co. in the Custcare CRM Application," Geet finished dictating.

"So this will be your assignment for your next class which is in 2 days. I know it's quite a short deadline, but you guys are a bit behind in your syllabus, so make sure you submit them on time,"she said sincerely and then to spice the things, she continued , "I do not like people disrespecting deadlines. So, to avoid any kind of punishment, ensure yourselves you're right on time," she said just as the alarm went off marking the end of her class.

"Let's go Adi," Maan said as he hurriedly packed his stuffs. "We have a meeting with the FSC people in an hour."

Saying so, they both walked to the door when Maan suddenly stopped, as he passed by Geet's table. If she can purposely tease me - my senses, so can I, he thought wickedly. Time for some fun!!!

"Quite a flattering dress... Miss," he commented with a wink and then quickly getting into his MSK Mode, he walked out of the class, all calm and composed leaving behind a flustered Geet.
