CHAPTER 39
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any royal titles, MEDICAL PROCEDURES, MEDICAL TERMS, Punjabi terms, architectural terms, IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. Maan, RK and Adi were waiting at the Jaipur International Airport for their chartered plane. RK had asked for Khurana Chopper but it was busy elsewhere dealing with some medical emergency! Soon the plane arrived and three boarded and took off for Delhi.
Location: KHURANA MANSION (KM)
On reaching KM, Maan was surprised not to find Dadimaa and Vicky. Just then Nakul came with coffee for all the three men. He came near Maan and said, "Maan Sir, abb aap ki tabiyat kaisi hai?" (Maan Sir, how are you feeling now?)
"Theek hai! Tum kaise ho, Nakul?" (Fine! How are you?)
"Aap ki kriypa hai!"
"Dadimaa aur Vicky kahaan hain?" (Where are Dadimaa and Vicky?)
"Woh haspataal gaye hain!" (They have gone to hospital!)
"HOSPITAL! Kyun? Kiski tabiyat kharaab hai?" (Hospital! Why? Who is unwell?)
"Woh G...!" (Its G...!) Nakul stopped seeing RK nodding not to tell Maan. "Maan baba aap aaram kijiye. Bataaiye khanne mei kya pasand karenge?" (Maan Sir, you please rest and tell me what would you like to eat?)
"Kuch bhi halka Kaka!" (Anything light!) Saying this Maan left for his room. Unknown to RK and Adi, Maan had seen the exchange between RK and Nakul and was very sure that Geet is in Khurana Hospital, but RK is trying to hide in which hospital.
Once Maan left for his room, RK immediately called Savitri Deviji and narrated everything. His mother, Savitri Deviji asked him to relax and rest. She said she will handle everything if Maan arrives at hospital. Then she spoke to Nakul and asked him to arrange the Outhouse (OH) for three people to stay! As expected, Mr. MAAN SINGH KHURANA was soon at KHURANA HOSPITAL dressed in his office attire. Seeing him in the hospital all the Hospital Staff and Hospital Administration were at attention and on their best professional behaviour as they knew Maan speaks minimum but sacks (fires) maximum!Maan went to the receptionist who was new and asked in his famous MSK tone, "In which room is Mrs. GEETIKA MAAN SINGH KHURANA admitted?"
"Sir, there is...no...one...by...this...name!" The shivering receptionist answered.
"Listen girl, if you don't tell me the truth I'll sack you. You don't know who I am!!"
"Mr. Khurana, I'm telling you the truth!" Receptionist then turned the PC monitor in Maan's direction showing him the list of all female patients admitted. One of the oldest ward boy, Ram Bharose saw Maan and his no nonsense body language and Maan on warpath and ran to tell Savitri Deviji of Maan's arrival! Maan went through the whole list and only found one name with letter "G"and that was "RAJKUMARI GAYATRI SINGH!" Frustrated he was walking away from the receptionist thinking which other hospital could she be admitted in when Vicky stopped him, "Hi Bro! Aap kab aaiye? Abb aap ki tabiyat kaisi hai?" (Hi Bro! When did you come? How are you feeling now?)
"Mai theek hoon. Vicky mujhe sach-sach bataao Geet kahaan hai!" Maan said in an angry and frustrated voice pulling Vicky's collar. (I am fine! Tell me the truth, where is Geet?)
"Bro, bhabhi toh chaar mahine se laapata hain!"(Bro, Bhabhi is missing since past 4 months!)
"Tum jhoot bol rahe ho, Dad aur Adi bhi jhoot bol rahe hain!" Maan then closed his eyes and said, "Geet yaheen hai mere bahut paas! Bahut paas!" Maan then opened his eyes and said "Tum yahaan kaise?" ('You are lying, Dad and Adi are also lying!' Maan then closed his eyes and said,'Geet is near me! Very near!' Maan then opened his eyes and said, 'How come you are here?')
"Bro, Dadimaa ki childhood friend, Rajmata Swarnanjali ki grand daughter, Rajkumari Gayatri Singh yahaan admitted hai, isliye hum usse dekhne aaye hain!" (Bro, grandma's childhood friend, Queen Mother Swarnanjali's grand daughter, Princess Gayatri Singh is admitted here, so we have come to visit her!)
Maan now felt that maybe Nakul was trying to say "Gayatri" and he felt that Nakul is saying "Geet"! But then why did his Dad stop Nakul? There is definitely something which his family is hiding from him. While in his thoughts he didn't realise when Vicky had guided him outside the ICU where Geet was admitted and a small group of people were gathered, consisting of Savitri Deviji, Rajmata Swarnanjali and Raj Kunwar Udayveer. Maan suddenly felt at peace as if he finally found what he was looking for. He went and touched Savitri Deviji's feet but he doesn't remember who these people are with whom his Dadimaa is standing or does he? Then why is he feeling suddenly at peace in their presence? Seeing Maan's confused look, Savitri Deviji introduced Rajmata Swarnanjali and Raj Kunwar Udayveer. Maan went and paid respects to Rajmata by touching her feet. Rajmata Swarnanjali was about to stop him when Dadimaa, "Swarna Maan ko aashirwaad dijiye, yeh bhi aapke Brijendra jaise hai!" (Swarna, please give blessings to Maan as he is also like your Brijendra!) Everyone present understood that Maan's memory of past four months is either lost or still fuzzy, as Dr. Varun had forewarned them.
On Savitri Deviji's continous insistence and keeping in mind Geet's health and medical needs, Rajmata Swarnanjali finally consented to stay at Khurana Outhouse . Both Rajmata Swarnanjali and Raj kunwar Udayveer shifted into Khurana Outhouse (KOH). Rajmata Swarnanjali was hesistant to stay in "Geet's sasural" as they are from "Geet's maika". Savitri Deviji tried reasoning with Rajmata that first and foremost its her friend's home and then its her grand daughter's sasural. Besides this, till Maan and Geet are remarried they can't call it as "Rajkumari Gayatri's sasural"!
Meanwhile, Maan had employed the two best Detective Agencies of the country to find Geet. Since, Maan had returned to Delhi, he was a complete horror for the Khurana household as well as Khurana Constructions (KC)! Maan was behaving like a "wounded tiger" and "raging bull" rolled into one!
There was no one who was not either yelled at or scolded or fired! Finally Savitri Deviji video conferenced Varun and he prescribed Maan a mild sedative to be given, when he was being very violent! However, Maan visited Rajkumari Gayatri's room very often on pretext of one thing or the other. He always felt at peace being outside her room but didn't know the reason why? He really wanted to go in and see her but could not as he had no right! Besides, Rajkumari's family was always there i.e. First few days Veer was there; then Brij and his wife came; next week brought Maharaj & Maharani of Vallabhgarh and now Veer again has been there for past two days! In KC also Maan was at total loss because after Maan and Geet's accident, RK had got both Maan and Geet's cabin locked. Their cabins could only be opened by Dadimaa, RK and Adi ! Even Vicky was not allowed as he was extremely careless! Now Geet was not there, Maan didn't know where some of important and confidential files were! However he realised seeing the files that were available, that he had gone about few weeks back to work on joint collaboration with BC. After about two weeks, Geet's health stabilized and bleeding was totally clear, hence, Geet was soon going to be shifted to KOH.
