CHAPTER 40

Today Geet was going to arrive late morning i.e. around 11:00a.m. from hospital to Khurana Outhouse (KOH). Savitri Deviji along with servants was busy doing last minute preparations. She was getting the downstairs room ready for Geet as she was not allowed to climb stairs. Maan was observing what was happening in OH as Maan's bedroom window overlooks into the back portico and lower rooms of OH.
As Nakul was passing by his room, Maan stopped him and asked, "Nakul aaj OH mei kya ho raha hai? Wahaan bahut chehal-pehal hai!" (Nakul, whats happening in OH today? Why is there hustle-bustle!)
"Maan Sir, aaj se wahan Rajkumari Gayatri apne rajparivar ke saath rehangi jab tak unki tabiyat theek nahi ho jaati aur woh wapis Jaipur nahi chali jaateen!" (Maan Sir, from today Princess Gayatri will be staying there with her royal family till she is well enough to go to her home in Jaipur.)
"Jaipur?"
"Haan woh apne parivaar ke saath waheen raheti hain, isse zyaada hum nahi jaante!" (Yes, she stays with her family there. Thats all what I know!)
"Theek hai tum jaao aur jald se jald mera nashta lagaao aaj mujhe office jaldi jaana hai!" (Fine! You go and get my breakfast ready as I have to leave for office soon!)
"Magar Maan Sir..." (But Maan Sir...)
"Mai jo keh raha hoon karo!" (Do as I say!) Maan's voice pitch had risen slightly and Nakul rushed towards kitchen before Maan looses his temper.
Location : KHURANA OUTHOUSE (KOH)
Savitri Deviji was waiting at entrance of KOH to welcome her bahu in Khurana Estate with aarti thali. RK and Vicky had gone to the Khurana Hospitals to welcome and bring Geet to KOH. Soon the ambulance enterouge came ---- Khurana's security was first; followed by Khurana's Mercedes in front; then Vallabhgarh security; then the ambulance carrying Geet with Padmini; next was the Royal family in BMW and last was again the Khurana security. RK had asked the Police Commissioner on behalf of Maharaj Prithviraj for Police security on the road hence ride was extremely quick and smooth to Khurana Estate. Once inside, all the security surrounded the Khuranas and the Royal family.
Just then MSK's black Mercedes drove in through the gates of Khurana Estate. He understood that Rajkumari Gayatri had arrived from hospital. His curiosity got the better of him and he walked towards the entrance of KOH. Khurana security recognizing Maan let him pass through and he reached the main door of KOH when he saw a female form drapped in shawl with head fully covered sitting on wheel chair.
Dadimaa wanted to do her aarti and needed her to stand but as no young male i.e. Brother, husband etc. was there to support her and she was extremely weak to stand by herself as she was already swaying. Vicky came foward but Dadimaa dismissed him.
Without thinking Maan strode forcefully passing the crowd scooped up the swaying Rajkumari Gayatri in his strong arms and said in a loud voice, "Dadimaa, yeh apna tamasha bandh kariye aur jald se jald Rajkmari ka 'grahpravesh' kijiye, jisse woh andher aa sakhe! Aap ko dikh nahi raha ki woh kitni kamzor hai aur kabhi bhi behosh ho sakti hai. JALDI KIJIYE!" Maan thundered. Hearing Maan's loud voice everyone was taken a back and Dadimaa quickly did aarti of both of them. Maan had not as yet looked at Geet as her face was covered in long ghunghat by the shawl and he was looking straight ahead trying to nudge Dadimaa to finish her old fashioned rituals quickly! Rajmata Swarnajali, Savitri Devi, Maharaj Prithviraj, RK, Maharani Sumitra, Padmini and Vicky were all happy with tears in their eyes and thanking the Almighty, that a husband is doing "Grahpravesh" with his wife and soon to be born children!

Maan put Rajkumari Gayatri on the nearest couch and just then her ghughat opened, making Maan for the first time see her face and exclaim, "GEET! MERI MISHTY!" Maan caressed her face and kissed her forehead and all over her face with love,"MISHTY! MISHTY! GEET!"
Everyone present were embarassed and averted their eyes. Maan was looking at Geet's face with all his love and felt peaceful after very long time. When Maan got no response from Geet, he shook her slightly with tears shimmering in his eyes,"UTHO MISHTY! UTHO SWEETHEART! Apne Maan ke liye utho!" (Get up Mishty!Get up Sweet heart! Please get up for your Maan!!)
Rajkumari Gayatri (Geet) who was exhausted by journey from hospital to KOH in her weakened state had fainted in Maan's arms after the "Grahpravesh". Seeing Geet pale and unconscious, Maan was extremely furious and wanted some answers from everyone there NOW! In a emotionless, cold and no nonsense voice Maan said, "MAI AAP SAB BANDHON SE ISSI SAMAY STUDY MEIN BAAT KARNA CHAHTA HOON!" (I want to talk to all the elders in study right now!) Maan left for the study taking long, strong and angry strides!
"Aap sab jaaiye, Vikram Bhai-sa aur hum Gayatri ke saath hain!" Padmini said. (You all please go, Vicky and I are here with Gayatri!)
As soon as Rajmata Swarnajali, Savitri Devi, Maharaj Prithviraj, RK and Maharani Sumitra entered the study, Maan said in cool and extremely angry voice, "Dadimaa, yeh kiska idea thaa, mujhe meri Geet se door rakhne kaa?" (Dadimaa, whose idea was it of keeping me away from my Geet?)
"Beta, woh baat yeh hai ki..." Savitri Devi was still in state of shock seeing Maan at OH. (Maan, the thing is...)
"Aap sabko kisne yeh haq diya hai ki ek pati ko uski patni se door rakhne kaa?" (Who gave you all the right to seperate a husband from his wife?)
"PATNI? KAISI PATNI? KAUNSI PATNI? TUMHARI TOH CONTRACT MARRIAGE THI JO POORI TEHARA KHATAM HO CHUKI HAI. KYUNKI CONTRACT KA SAMAY BHI KHATAM HO GAYA HAI AUR TUMHARA DIVORCE BHI HO GAYA HAI! ISS LIYE TUMHARA AUR GEET KA KOI RISHTA NAHI!" RK was very angry with the way Maan was talking to his mother, Savitri Devi and gave a reality check to Maan. (WIFE! Which wife? Whose wife? You had a Contract Marriage which is now completely over! Your contract term is over and you are also divorced. Hence, you have no relation with Geet now!)
"DIVORCE? Kisne kaha humara divorce hua hai? HUM DONO ABHI BHI PATI PATNI HAIN! Aap apne ko bahut hoshiyar samjhate hain naa, Mr. Ranjit Singh Khurana, magar aapke jasoos ne aapko poori khabar nahi di hai! Haan, Geet aur Meri shaadi shuru mei che mahine ka contract thaa, kyunki Dadimaa ki tabiyat theek nahi thee. Isse pehale che mahine khatam hote, aap beemaar padh gaye toh phir humne do daffa Contract renew karna padha. Magar akhiree daffa renew karne ki bajaaye humne yeh decide kiya thaa ki abb YEH SHAADI SACCHI KI SHAADI HOGI, CONTRACT MARRIAGE NAHI. JAB HUM ALAG HONA CHAHENGE TO DIVORCE LE LENGE! Humare jhagde ke baad, Geet ne divorce papers par sign kiye the maine nahi! Iss liye GEET AAJ BHI MAAN SINGH KHURANA KI PATNI HAI yaani Mrs. GEETIKA MAAN SINGH KHURANA HAI!" (DIVORCE? Who said that we are divorced? WE BOTH ARE STILL HUSBAND AND WIFE! You consider yourself very smart, Mr. Ranjit Singh Khurana, but your detectives have slipped, they have given you incomplete information. Yes Geet and I did contract marriage for 6 months as Dadimaa was unwell. When the contract was getting over, you felt ill so we extended it again twice. But the third time we got married the regular way and decided to divorce one another when need arose. After our fight, Geet signed the divorce papers but I did not. Therefore, GEET EVEN TODAY IS MAAN SINGH KHURANA'S WIFE meaning she is still Mrs. GEETIKA MAAN SINGH KHURANA!)
Stunning all the elders present! Seeing that no elder is saying or moving from their trance-like pose, Maan started walking where Geet was lying when he was stopped by Savitri Deviji's voice, "Ruk jaiye Maan AAP KO AAP KI GEET KI KASAM!" (Stop Maan for sake of your Geet!)
Thereby Maan stopped and turned, "Kahiye Dadimaa, aap kya kehna chahti hain?" (Yes Dadimaa, what do you want to say?)
"Maan inn chaar mahino mei sab badal gaya hai. Aap apni aur Geet ki zindagi ke sach ke baare mei jaan lijiye phir hi unse mileyega!" (Maan in these four months lot of changes have happened! It will be better if you know the full truth about your and Geet's life, before meeting her!)
Savitri Deviji asked everyone to sit and ordered on intercom some coffee, tea and snacks for everyone present. After Maan was sitting with his cup of black coffee, Savitri Deviji started narrating Geet's story starting from the time of Geet's birth; when Geet was 5yrs. old, her mother, Rajeshwari who was third born of Rajmata Swarnajali & Princess of Vallabhgarh died ; Geet's father, Mohinder got remarried resulting in Geet being chucked out of the house; Princess Chitralekha leaving Vallabhgarh & adopting Geet and both of them moving to Shimla were Geet studied till 12th standard; and then moving to Delhi for graduation. In Delhi, Geet got Khurana scholarship in ABCD University and work in KC after RK saw her intelligence & diligence; then Chitralekha along with their neighbours adopted children passed away in the house fire, the day before Maan became MD of KC; and finally Maan and Geet's Contract Marriage. After nearly two years of Maan and Geet's Marriage, they met with an accident on the way from Mumbai to Matheraan which resulted in both of them loosing their memory! On doing tests, it was found that Geet is 2weeks pregnant as well as DNA of Geet and Rajmata Swarnajali matched, thereby confirming Geet to be the daughter of their long lost daughter Rajkumari Rajeshwari. As Maan use to get violent hearing name "GEET", hence Geet's name was changed to Gayatri and she was sent with her Royal family first to Vallabhgarh and after 3months to Jaipur to work in BC. Maan and Geet met each other at BC in Jaipur after three and a half months of accident but didn't recognise one another! Maan felt that Geet was married and pregnant, and Geet found him to be an "egoist, characterless and rude stranger"! But, Maan had fallen in love with Geet and wanted to marry her when the second accident occurred in Jaipur! Rest Maan is aware off after he regained his lost memory.
Once again everyone was quite especially Maan till Maharani Sumitra hesitantly asked,"Jawaai-sa, hum aap se ek prashan (question) karna chahte hain, kriypa krodhit matt huega! Hum ladkiwale hain aur hum nahi chahenge ki aage chalkar iss baat par humari Gudiya ka upmaan ho!" (Dear son-in-law, can I please ask you a question if you don't get upset! We are girl's family and don't want our daughter to be humilated in near future!) Maan nodded in affirmative. "Jawaai-sa, Gudiya chaar maah garbhavati hai, kya jo bacche uski kok mai pal rahe hain, woh aap ke hain? Gudiya ki samaran shakti lupt ho gayi hai warna hum unse hi pooch lete!" (Son-in-law, Gudiya is four months pregnant. Are the babies growing in her womb yours? I would have asked Gudiya but she is suffering from amnesia!)
Before Maan could answer, Vicky came excited rushing in, "DNA report aa gayi! DNA report aa gayi!" (DNA report has come!DNA report has come!)
"Kya hai report mei?" Savitri Devi asked. (What does the report say?)
"Bacchon ka DNA, Bro ke DNA se match kartaa hai! Matlab, ki Bhabhi ki kok mei jo bacche pal rahe hain, unke Dad bhai hain!" (Children's DNA matches with Bro. Meaning Bro is Father of children in Bhabhi's womb!)
