After coming from college, Geet was feeling unusually low. She had again topped in her batch but today it was not giving her happiness which she usually got and the reason was she had no one to celebrate it with i.e. Mausi, Rajji and Tito! Whenever she had topped her Mausi had made her favourite sweets and warded off evil eye from her. True Pinky would be very happy once she was back but she was still in office. Geet took out photographs of happy times she spent with her family.
Seeing their photographs her control broke and she started crying. Her sobs were broken by ringing of landline phone, hearing the voice of Dadimaa she calmed down. After chatting with Dadimaa, she relaxed and even gave a watery smile before Dadimaa disconnected the phone! She went to her room had a bath and made tea for herself and snacks for Pinky!
Words of Dadimaa made her see the other side of life. But Dadimaa's call also bought with it memories and feelings which she was desperately trying to avoid. Memories of the first time she had seen Maan Singh Khurana, no it was not a month back! It was three years back when on the insistence of Architectural faculty Maan had come to give lecture in her college, which was also MSK's college from where he had graduated. She was spell bound seeing his physical persona as well as his intelligence and it was "love at first sight" for her! She had started day dreaming about Maan and building castles in the air! Just then things had started to go haywire with Charu Mausi's ill health i.e. having a hole in her heart. Mausi was not able to do any physical labour along with that the financial drain on Geet due to Mausi's medicines and hospitalization. Geet's studies would have been left mid-way, had "Baba" i.e. Mr. Ranjit Singh Khurana not stepped in and helped her in studies through Khurana scholarship and financially by providing her a job at KC! Savitri Deviji had also invited her to their home and that's when Geet got a reality check! Geet saw Maan's photographs adorning palacial KM, she saw the difference in her and Maan's social and financial status! Geet controlled her feelings and desires seeing the harsh reality i.e. there no match between Ms. Geetika Singh and Mr. Maan Singh Khurana! Besides Maan was known to have number of girl friends which were very beautiful and rich. During Maan's undergraduate days there was Tanya; once he passed out and went to US for MBA there was a Russian supermodel Natasha and now Sameera who was daughter of a big influential industrial family! Hence, Geet thought it better to just not think about Maan. But it was easier said than done! Dadimaa and RK sir would continously talk about him making it impossible for Geet to forget or ignore Maan!!
LOCATION: KHURANA MANSION (KM)
In the evening Maan reached home tired, restless and confused. Tired physically and mentally. Physically as he had lot of meetings during the day, and with Geet not being there he had asked Tasha to attend meeting with him, but Tasha was as dumb as Sasha! With work not getting done left Maan angry, frustrated and irritable. Mentally exhausted as he had to practically redo whole of Sasha's designed layout! Finally his patience ran thin and at the HOD's and Higher Management's meeting he yelled, "Ms. Sasha Gupta and Ms. Tasha Sharma, I'm giving you 30days, if in these 30days you both don't pull up yourself and start doing some really good productive work, you both can find yourself another job! I also suggest you concentrate on your work instead of bossing the juniors! If I or any of the members in management committee find you both harassing new interns or trainees, that will be your last day in KC! IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?" Maan yelled at Sasha and Tasha.
"Yes....Sir!" Sasha and Tasha muttered in scared voice. The rest of the meeting passed fairly smoothly.
He entered his room in KM, took a shower relaxing himself but everytime he closed his eyes he saw a beautiful and innocent face with eyes having immense pain making him restless. Nakul came to call him for dinner and Maan went downstairs and had dinner with his family. After that everyone went to the family lounge and were having coffee when Dadimaa brought up the topic, "Ranjit mujhe Geet ki chinta hai!" Hearing Geet's name, Maan's ears perked up. (Ranjit , I'm worried about Geet!)
"Kyun Maa?" (Why?)
"Beta, aaj ek mahina ho gaya hai, Geet ke poore parivaar ko guzare. Magar Geet apne aap ko poori tarah sambhal hi nahi paa rahi!" (Its a month since her family died and she is still not able to come to terms with it!)
"Maa itna asaan nahi hai jinse pyaar karte hain unhein bhoolna!" (Its not so easy to forget your loved ones!)
"Dadimaa, when did Geet's family pass away?"
"The day you took over as MD of KC!"
Making Maan realise the reason behind the pain in Geet's eyes! Maan was shocked to know from Dadimaa and Ranjit about Geet's loss! He was at the same time immensely impressed to see Geet's level of dedication to her work!
One more month passed. In this month, Maan saw different faces of Geet! He saw Geet the professional! Geet the humatarian who ran to the hospital to give blood to a colleague who met with an accident. Brave Geet who bashed few goons who tried to snatch her dignity! Geet a homemaker giving household tips to few of her lady colleagues. Maan wanted desperately to make Geet his physically and each passing second it was becoming more and more difficult for him to control his urges! He could not even think of Geet in anyone else's arms hence he was very upset when Geet mistook Maan as Romeo. He was also extremely possessive at thought of Geet going to movies with Romeo. Maan was aware that as he respects Geet too much he can't make her his 'mistress' or 'one night stand'! Also, Geet's self respect will not allow her for this arrangement and Maan may loose her forever if she quits her job! Although Maan can't touch her in present scenario but at least she around him and in front of his eyes in the office! At one end he was being tormented by his physical needs and other end by his family's continous nagging! Finally making a decision he called Geet. When she entered his cabin, Maan with help of remote, locked the door and drew the curtains around his cabin alarming Geet. "Sir...?"
"Please don't be alarmed Ms. Singh, I need to talk to you on a very private and confidential matter and don't want those busybodies, Sasha and Tasha or anyone else eavesdropping!"
