a few days after ...

the day of the meeting...

geet with her parents went to meet the guy...she did not even ask about his name from her parents...and straight went to meet him in the planned hotel...

geet with her family reached the hotel...they went to the place and sat down waiting for the arrival of maan and his family...

( on the way there maan called up geet's father that they were stuck in traffic...)

meanwhile geet thought of calling down in her office to know the status update...but mobile network was not clear inside so she excused her parents and moved outside to make the call...she moved towards the door...and that is when maan entered in with his family...geet saw him and was really very pleasantly surprised to see him there...Maan also saw her the very moment and all he could do was stare at the beauty ...so innocent...

geet went to him ...

g: MAAN ...you here...how are you...and why were you not taking my calls since past so many days...initially i thought you would be on some mission and might be busy...but you are here ...having holidays...and you didn't even call me back...not done...m clearly upset with u...(she blabbered all this without seeing the surroundings in just a go...in Amritsar express speed..without noticing maan's parents standing besides him...)

maan's parents were smiling ...,seeing geet so authoritively talking down to maan and there son listening to every complain of hers like a lovestruck teenager...maan's mother have so much whished to see this smile on her son' face..and she smiled to his father...and said "aapka beta to gaya...(ur son's gone...) and i am too happy for him...god bless him...

maan: shant my lady bheem ...shant(calm)...give me a chance to explain...

g:no ...not at all...u need to apologize and that too now...u don't even know how much have happened in past few days...i so much wanted to talk to you...and you khadoos did not even take my call...especially when u were free and on holidays...no excuses are going to work for you...

during all this complain session geet's parents came towards where geet has so authoritively blocked maan's way...

(since maan had called up geet's parents when he reached in the parking of the hotel...so geet's parents thought of going out and receiving them at the door and they too heard the non stop ranting of their daughter ...and her complaining to maan...and they smiled to themselves...and thought ...she would be happy with maan)...

Maan knew geet won't stop her ranting and won't give him a chance anymore...so he stood and listened to her patiently,,...and that is when he noticed her parents standing behind...he smilingly went towards them and touched their feet taking their blessings...

Geet got shocked was an understatement of the year...

All the questions of how does he know her parents came to her mind..she never introduced them ...and besides that why was such a big smile on her parents face seeing him...

Then maan turned towards geet...and said

M: will you take a breath and stop overthinking...i know that expression of urs...and let me explain...ok

g: (all mute now)hmm...

maan then took her hands and turned her towards his parents and introduced them to her...geet these are my parents...

and ma pa this is geet...

geet folded her hands and greeted them with sat sriakal(Namaste or hello)...

maan's parents: kush raho beta(stay happy)...

and then geet's fathers invited them in ...and took them towards their table...and geet was still a silent spectator of all this...she had this weird feeling in her ...like she knew something was going to happen...

and then after settling down...geet's father dropped the bomb on her...

geet's father:geet ..,bacha...Maan is the guy we wanted you to meet for the alliance...

and geet was soo shocked that she just nodded her head in ok...and just kept silent...and maan too noticed this...

he was very much prepared for this...he knew geet would go all silent and not even attempt to talk down with him...but he still gave a bit time to her to digest the facts...and meanwhile they ordered some refreshments...

when the order was served..maan took it as the perfect moment to have a word with geet...

maan to geet's father: uncle ...!! if you don't mind can i take geet away for a few moments... i need to talk with her...

geet's father told him yes since he knew..this moment was very much needed...

m:geet chale...(lets go)

and geet was so lost in herself that she did not hear him...

maan then shook her shoulder and repeated himself again...geet chale...and pleading with his eyes..

geet stood up and walked outside behind him...both went towards the hotel's garden...geet blindly followed him all the way in her thoughts and watching his back...and following him....maan then asked her to have a seat at the bench placed in the garden...

both sat down...

none spoke for a few minutes...

after a few moments geet spoke out only one word: why???

Maan knew this was the time ...

He took a long breath ...and tried to make everything light and open his heart to her...

M: why not...

And geet looked towards him... asking him so many questions from her eyes...

Maan holded geet's face in his hands...i love you geet...(geet got another shock)...it's not sudden...and not out of time talking out with you...i have loved you at the very first moment i laid my eyes on you...u know love at first sight...it just happened with me...i could not believe it myself...but i really do love you a lot...i have never intended to get married...but one look at you and all these thoughts flew out of my mind...i see my life with you...you in my arms as mine...only mine...and with time we have spent with each other ..all those skype calls and texting...i have just have fallen for you more and more...

I know geet u have not thought about this...but see ...this all isn't that bad hmm...

You know me...and you are to get married some day...better marry me then making a random go for a guy you don't even know...and anyways m really very handsome...and i can't settle down with anyone less beautifull ...u are the perfect one..(winking...trying to lighten her mood,,..)

G: (all astonished with his expression of love...) :but i have never thought about you in that way maan...how i can do this to you...

M: silly you have never thought about marriage with any guy...and it makes it very easy for you to make a decision...

G: but i don't want to loose my friend ...what if all this doesn't work out good...

M: don't be all negative...everything has some good side to it... i promise we will always be friends first no matter what...

See i don't want to force you but..i won't lie geet i won't be able to see you with someone else,,...but i promise i won't ever leave your side...never ever whatever your decision might be about this alliance...we are going to be best friends...always.,i promise...you don't have to worry about anything...

Seeing geet all silent again...he tried... his lighten situation act again...

And besides we can always crack a deal about this...you understand this much better...you do this daily in your office...

Marry me...and we can be bestest of friends and i won't stop u from working...if that is your concern...and besides ...you can take all the time you need ...i won't force you into anything you can trust me with this,,..

See you won't get a better deal than this...

Geet smiled...

G: i know you would never do that maan...these are not the doubts that i have...with u being my friend...and this alliance ...i don't want to hurt you...

M:Geet if you don't give it a try ..a chance how would you know...and i know i am too handsome to pass by...just let your heart do the work this time...i will win you over...and i promise the day is not far away when you will come running in my arms confessing down your love for me... (and winked)...

G: oh so much confidence in urself...

M: aha...not at all ...i have this faith and confidence in you ...your heart,,..that you so tightly keep caged...

G: don't put so much of faith in me...i might fail you maan...

M:i know you would never ...you just don't know your worth...just say yes once geet...i promise you would never regret it...no i don't promise you a perfect all happy and no worries relationship,,..because we might have our ups and downs...but i promise you ...i will hold you when you would need me...i promise i will always be by your side...hmmm

G: hmm

M: so is this hmm your yes...

G: only smiled in response...

Maan hugged her tight and kissed her forehead,...thankyou geet...i promise we will make it work... love you jaan...

And geet just blushed hearing him call her jaan ...

M: lets go back...we took too long...our parents must be waiting...

G: mann ...ruko ruko(stop)...

Maan in questioning stance: what??(ab kya hua..)

G: i just messed up in front of ur parents at the door...

M: they already loved you geet...don't worry...and well they are enlightened in time that u are part mad...

G: haw...what...i reject you...its a no for you...why marry someone mad..

M: jerked her towards himself...well i don't take no for an answer anymore...and besides...i love this madness about you...ab chale(let's go)

And then both went towards their parents table...

Later when they reached the table ..there parents looked upto them to know what have they have decided...

And maan smilingly told them...we are ready to get married...

And then maan's and geet's parents stood up and hugged them...and blessing them...later maan's parenst gave geet shagun..and so did geet's parents with maan...they had lunch together...and fixed down a date for ring ceremony...since maan was very eager...and he did not really want to put much time for the commitment and he knew geet might not have taken a long off...from the office...and he thought about talking the same to geet and his parents...later ...

Later both the families bid adieu...maan stealing glances at geet...and after the final goodbye...They went to their respective cars...

before siting down in car maan texted geet...

"i will call you tonight...don't sleep sleepy head...

Love maan"

Geet received the message and she had these butterflies in her stomach...and replied him back

" ...hmmm...

But no promises lolj..."😉

maan replied back with just a smiley... " 😊... <3 "

later that night maan called up geet around 11 in the night...

m:so madam...waiting for my call (in all teasing mood)...

G: NA NEVER...was checking out some mails...

M: oh you broke my heart...

Geet gave out a hearty laugh...since she knew maan was teasing her...

So wolf guy how long do you have your holidays for...

M: 10 more days to go...and what about you...

G:well am leaving in two days...next day from our engagement...

M:so soon

G: hmmm...if papa wouldn't have called up coj of his health then i would have not even come down...and anyways these were the last paid holidays i had for this year...

M: hmmm...geet wanna ask you something...

G: oho...since when did you get scared...

M: are you happy geet...with this...

G: hmm...

M:you can tell me if there is anything ...you can talk to me about anything...don't hesitate..

G: maan don't get tensed..ok ...i am fine and i am completely ok with this ...this change...initially i had some doubts...but i know ...baba ji must have planned out something good for me...i trust him...

U knw before telling my parents yes for meeting the guy///...i went to golden temple ...i asked him only one thing ...i do not want any heart breaks...and see ...the guy turned out to be u...see my babaji has given me what i have asked of him...i know you will never break my heart...and i know although i have not asked him much more than this...he is going to bless me with happiness... ...you know like the confidenece children have on their parents that they would never leave them in the time of need...,i have the same amount of faith in him...i know he would never leave me alone...he is always going to be there with me..watching over me...guiding me...

M: thank you geet...and thanks to your babaji too...because of whom you have given me this chance...u knw what after listeneing to you...my faith on god is also increasing...

And like that they talked for long...and did not care when it struck 1 in the night...maan then wished her good night and fell down to sleep...happy and content and waiting for the day after tomorrow ...
