Maan dropped her at the airport, he hugged her dearly - u don't have to come for the anniversary.

Geet - I will be there, I shall tell adhi to coordinate with Sasha for booking the tickets.

Maan kissed her forehead. While they were waiting, there was a delay in her flight.

He smiled and walked with her to the coffee shop. She excused herself to make a call. He saw her pacing angrily. He had never seen her like this. He tried to recollect, if he has ever seen getting angry. This was new, but she looked cute.. He thought to himself. He couldn't stop himself admiring her, her nose that seemed flaring, her eyes was spitting fire.. He definitely didn't want to be the person on the receiving end of her temper. She almost threw her phone in annoyance. He picked it up and walked to her, she instantly smiled - really sorry

Maan - kis pe itna naraz ho rahi ho?

Geet - nahi wo adhi.. Then she just left it. Look at the brighter side, I got more time with you

Maan - what happened?

Geet - this guy can't complete one sentence properly dammit!!

Maan - why did you hire him at the first place

Geet smiled - actually I am just irritated my flight is delayed, its going to disrupt my schedule tomorrow in London. Bechara Adhi is not bad.

Maan almost got jealous of this Adhi now.

Geet laughed - trust me u wouldn't mind me working with Adhi, he is really sweet guy.

She patted his cheek - I think he is interested in my offices receptionist

Maan - but u said u just hired him

Geet - yah!! I really didn't want to hire another guy as my assistant. I found them all so incompetent and I land up spending so much time with them, they start.. U know... what I am saying

Maan - no way are you kidding me

Geet - wo .. don't even get me started

Maan - really!!.. I thought that was more to do with female assistants.

Geet almost pounced at him - what the hell do you mean. Men think no end of themselves. I had this guy who would wear his shirt with buttons open.. Showing off his breast.. she made a disgusting look..

Maan - and you didn't like it

Geet hugged him - shut up jaan, you of all the people should know I don't like such cheap displays.

Maan played with her locks trying to understand himself. It was so perfect around her.

Geet made little cute face when she to go.. I can't wait to our India trip.

Maan smiled wondering why was she so patient with him. Why she was doing all this for him.

A week had passed. Maan got a call from his bank regarding the investors. Maan dressed in his best business attire. He walked in with confidence unlike in past. He laid out the documents & opened the excel sheet in his laptop to give brief on his progress.

Bank Manager - how is business Maan

He smiled confidently - U can start seeing the figures green soon

Bank manager - Maybe it's time to expand
Maan stared at him - What do you mean?
Manager casually - Well, investors saw the last reports we gave and they... were impressed. They see opportunities in bigger cities and asked if you were willing to take the business there.
Maan - I think, it's too soon. Although I admit I have been thinking about this.
Manger smiled - u have been doing great. The numbers you're giving me plus the ones on your pipeline are pretty impressive.
Maan sat comfortably, his heart was beating hard in excitement. He felt so wonderful with himself. He composed himself. I am really flattered - thanks. I really appreciate that my investors believe in my work and I was able to live up to their expectations. Please do let them know that, but we already doing a lot.

Manger - That's why they are serious about branching out

Maan couldn't stop himself from thinking about her, how she mentioned about it during his trip to California.
Maan shrugged the thought - I am really thrilled with the offer, but it will be a huge step. I don't think I've even proven myself here.
Manager smiled - I think you've proven yourself enough for them to believe that this idea will work if taken upscale, too.
Maan was little concerned now - It will take a lot of money!
Manager - trust me they can handle it

Maan thoughtfully - what is their expectation.. How... soon?
Manager - as soon as you say yes, I guess. You can work out the proposal.
Maan - What will happen to this branch? Would they want to close this down? I don't think I can bear that. This is like my baby. I wouldn't let that happen.
Manger laughed - Relax. You can run two branches, can't you? This branch will still stay. You can have Sasha oversee everything so you don't need to be hands on, and then you can build the second branch.

They started discussing the possibilities. It was almost lunch time the manager convinced Maan, that this is may be a big step, but it's a great opportunity for his company.
By now Maan was mentally planning on the same city that Geet wanted him to move.

Maan - the city could be..

Manager cut in - actually the investors have a city in their mind.

Maan was heart broken. He almost didn't want to do it if it was not California.
Before his heart lose all hope

Manger - West Coast .. California

Maan thought to himself, Wow.. talk about luck!..or... fate!
Hi heart was there, he couldn't stop smiling. That was really good. But he knew, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. His hand started getting cold. A thought played in his mind and he didn't know what to do with it. He was afraid to ask the manager. He knew he still had to, because if he didn't, that thought would not let him sleep at night. But he just hoped he was wrong.

Maan cleared his throat - this investor seems to be well off

Manager looked up from the cheque he was writing - yeah.. Its good for the bank you know

Maan - this investor or investors don't they want to clear the previous loan first

Manager - the red figures on the report decreases every month. Now we're on breakeven. When you invest here and there, you know the rules. I'm sure the pressure to see the green will not come until after three months or more
Maan took a deep breath - how many investors were there?

Manager - One

Maan - is this the same person asking me to open a branch in west coast?

Manager knotted his brows and looked at him - why are you asking this?

Maan stiffened - this one investor is she Geet Handa?

Manger didn't say anything for some time and just nodded.

Maan just walked out. He didn't know what to think or do anything any more. He walked endlessly, until he reached a calm corner in the busiest city in the world. He couldn't hold himself together anymore. He screamed at nobody. He felt humiliated. Was Geet playing him all along? Was he... a business investment? She said she knew the reason why she was doing him all these favors... and now he does too! She was making sure she wasn't investing in a losing venture. Sasha and him started working on this business even before he found out that Geet, his pari, was really Geet Handa, the heir born with a silver spoon. When he thought he would never see her again, she had been there all along... investing on him behind his back. Banking on his talents!
