Nice post dear. It is true that when we write and get less likes/comments we will feel bad, but I started to take it also positively. Likes reduce when readers don't like the story. So just try harder to write a better story or improve your story line.

I can give a comparison for my FFs itself. For my first completed FF Saaya, some parts had got 400+ likes. But now for very few updates I am getting more than 200 likes. Reasons can be many.

1. My FFs are not as good as it was earlier, so the readers lost interest.

2. Lack of response for their comments from my end

3. My irregular updates

4. Many of my regular readers are no longer regular in IF

5. Some may read from mobiles where they cannot login as cookies are disabled.

6. Some may just read and leave due to time constraints

7. Some may not want to like or comment (may not be even members of IF)

Among all the above, only the last two set of readers can just spare some time and like it or put a small comment if they dislike. But even then I can't force anyone to do it when I myself has time constraints in responding to the readers' comments and even updating my FFs regularly. It is reader's wish whether to read a story, like it or give a comment.

It may not be the same in the case of all writers. But there can be many facts that prevents the readers from liking or commenting. So rather than bothering about those few, let us write for those who wait for our updates regularly. We are all here to recreate maaneet with our stories. Lets do it and keep up the spirit.

A very huge thanks to you..The post is a much needed one..
Yet I don't think this is going to change anything.. Silent readers are silent like always.!!!

I was a reader, I used to comment on all the stories I read..By comments I don't mean a word or 2.. because that's not a comment.. Its more of a favir that the readers do to the writer.. One word for a 3000+ word update..I dont see the logic..!!!

I used to feel bad for the writers when they used to be disappointed by the response..As a writer now I am feeling their pain..

I wish this one thing changes in GF and writers aren't forced to quit..
because we love writing too..

I like reading stuff. So I read all the stories and topics at Geet forum whether they are good or not. Sometimes I don't like stories even written by very good writers, But I read all of them in a hope of improvement. It feels very bad when writers don't finish their stories only when a small part of the story is left. I do my part honestly and read all the stuff at geet forum. I do comment on every update.

mahi don't know wt to say i m not a writer but i can understand writers point of view n mahi jo main bolne ja rahi hoon tum us categaory main bilkul bhi nahi ho kyunki tum humare liye humesha update karti hoon

but yaha aise bahut saare writers hai jo really dhamki dete hai ki itna like n comment nahi hoga to update nahi karenge par unke is vajah se jo hum jaise reader hai jo roj ff, ss padthe hai unka kya jab writers ne story likhna shuru kiya tha tab t nahi pata tha na ki kitne accept karenge to fir yahi soch ke story likhe ki jo padh rahe hai unke liye to likhe par nahi beech main hi story stop kar dete hai silent reader ki vajah se active reader ko kitni pareshani hoti hai jinki life maaneet bahut important hai
par writers bhi active readers ki imortant nahi samjte hai jo tumhari story padh raha hai like kar raha hai jiski life main maaneet itne important hai n jo tum logo ki story se apni life main ache se hai story ko stop karke unki life ko bhi stop kar dete hai

i m really sorry agar kisi ko bhi mere is comment se bura laga ho to ye mere pov hai n sabka pov alag alag hota hai n i request ki is baat ko jyada drag mat karo kyunki in baato se readers n readers jyada writers hurt honge

I am an active reader & everyday I comment to at least 20 updates of various stories (Rishbala , Maaneet , Tasha etc )...I will be honest that sometimes i get tired so much that at the end of 20th comment , sometimes my mind goes blank & I end up in short comment...& if I keep it pending then next day I end up in commenting more than 20 comments...So i first comment to those stories whose updates are very frequent , then i comment to my favt stories & then to those who are very strict in case of answering reader's comment & then if I get time I comment to others or leave it for next day...

Sorry if I have dissapointed any writer...
