Chapter 3
He didn't expect her to be... so young. "Gorgeous" his mind prompted, he shushed it down.
"So Miss Geet?" Maan asked, his poker face in place, not giving a hint about his thoughts. "I hope you understand the value of the opportunity you've been given. Not everyone who applies is selected in KC."
Geet observed the man in front of her. She could almost hear the arrogance in his voice. She concluded that rightly so, afterall he singlehandedly ran his empire from the top of this huge building. And it didn't help that he wasn't hard on the eyes.
"I know sir. I have worked hard for this job and I understand completely what is required of me. I will not let you...your company down."
"Good. You can settle all details with Adi. You are dismissed." Maan almost let a smirk slip when she fumbled.
Geet's lips formed a O as she stared at the back of his head. "Dismissed? DISMISSED?! Who does he think he is? Hymph!" She stormed off to find Adi..
Sasha looked on as that, that nasty pretty girl stormed out of MK's cabin. She appeared angry. Didnt usually women appear crying when they left is cabin? Anyway, she needed to set things straight with her, she thought, as she approached her.
Geet was searching for Adi sir, the nice man who had shown her Maan Sir's cabin. The bespectacled man fumbled his way through their introduction, which Geet suspected had a lot to do with the cute receptionist, what was her name, yes, Pinky.
She was just looking around when she heard someone calling her. Well if "You there! New girl!" qualified as calling, that is.
She looked around to see a short pretty woman, with a tad too uch make up for a professional setting and a skirt too short approach her.
Geet looked on curiously as Sasha tip taped her way to her in her heels.
Sasha: So you're the new girl huh? I don't see why adi or MK were so looking forward to your arrival. I don't see anything in you that might impress.
Geet looked down at her attire. She had chosen a teal tunic paired with a pair of white leggings. Frankly, she thought she looked professional, much more that Sasha.
Geet: Well, to be honest, I'm sure my skills to impress aren't linked with my dress, so I get it that you cant see them. But I do the job well.
Sasha fumed. No one had dared to talk back to her before.
On the other hand, Geet had always known to speak up. With 3 over protective brothers, if you had to make an identity of your own, you needed to speak up.
Sasha: Well don't act oversmart. I'm sasha the project manager. So you better refer to me as maam. And remember you will do as I say. Get it?
Geet: I don't think I report to you. I report to Maan Sir and work with Adi sir. So Sasha maam, if you excuse me, can I go and do the work I've been hired for.
Saying this Geet stalked off, leaving sasha fuming, unaware that they were being watched.
Maan had watched Sasha tail Geet and had felt worried. After chastising himself for his protective feelings towards the new girl, he couldn't help but look on at the altercation. Though he couldn't hear them, he had a fair idea what Sasha might have wanted to say to her. It was the same putting down, letting her know who is the most powerful woman in the office speech that very girl who had to work with him in close vicinity received.
But looks like geet had her back. He almost smirked as he saw Geet stalk off leaving Sasha fuming. Geet didn't report to sasha, so she didn't have to worry about her anyway.
He found a new found respect for the new girl Geet. As he leaned back, he thought that working with her could be a rewarding experience.
