Part 15

Dev and Meera took their position behind trees facing the back entrance. They had to wait until Aashi had deactivated the security cameras and then they would take down the guards at the entrance. They all had earphones and speakers to communicate with each other.

"Meera, Dev, Take them down!" Varun said. "Aashi has already deactivated it"

With 4 smooth shots, the guards dropped down without a single noise. "Good job!" Varun said

"Maan, Yash, the entrance is clear. I'm going in with veer. We will clear the way. Wait for my signal, and then go in. Find the room I told you the girls might be in."

"Meera, Dev wait until I tell you what to do!" Varun said while going in.

Soon after, Maan received Varun's approval to go in. As he went in, he saw 3 dead bodies along the way. Varun and Veer had taken them down. Then he took the stairs and went towards the room they were supposed to check out. Yash was with him. As they approached the room, they saw two other guards. They were talking among themselves.

"I've scared them enough now. They will know better than to annoy us again. You should have looked at their faces by the time I was done" One man said

"Yash. We have no other option other than taking them by surprise. I'm going first. They will hesitate before firing, you shoot one of them down, I'll take the other one."

Yash nodded and maan went in. Both guards were surprised and maan and yash took them down without any trouble. But as soon as they got into the room, they were shocked to see all the girls. All of them were wearing minimum clothing. They were scared to see him and Yash with guns in their hands. Their eyes had a look of terror. They looked so young.

"It's ok." He said. "We are here to help you. Ok?"

No one gave any reaction. They looked scared.

They didn't have time. "Varun. There are 18 of them. They are scared but I think they can walk." He said looking at the girls. They finally realized that they actually were being saved.

Then one girl stepped in front and talked to yash. "I don't think my friend will be able to walk," she said looking at one of the girls who was sprawled on the floor. Maan glanced at her and saw that she was covered with a sheet from the waist down. Her legs were bare with blood stains and semen he recognized. He closed his eyes immediately. He covered her properly and told her friend. "I will carry her." He understood why everyone was so scared. One of the men had just raped her in front of all the girls. That's what the bas***d was taking about before dying.

"Varun there's no one in the building. We're getting them out. No need for the explosives. Come here. We might use everyone's help to get them out."

When Varun and Veer came in, maan could see the change in their expression. And when he told them about the girl, they could not hide their anger. Varun dropped down in front of the girl and took her in his arms. "Don't worry baby, he's dead. We'll get you to your parents now. Alright?" He said hoping to assure her.

"He hurt me." The girl said finding comfort in his arms. Tears forming in her eyes. She was barely 18. Maybe younger. Varun hugged her closer and kissed her forehead. He murmured some reassurances to comfort her.

After that, everyone in the team led the girls out without trouble. They left the bodies behind and wiped out any trace of them being here. They had to remain in the shadow. Always.

When they got to the van, they helped the girls in. By that time, the girl who Varun had carried had lost consciousness. Varun handed her to Meera and asked Aashi to help take care of her.

Everyone got into the van and they went off. Their operation was successful. But this was just one step away from stopping this organization. There were many more girls out there. There was a lot to be done.

Captain Ram had contacted his higher officials and through them, the girls were sent back home. The girl who was raped had needed medical care. As for the man who they had held for investigation he was handed over to the officials.

The next day the team met again in the headquarters.

Captain Ram complimented them. "Good job everyone. This is one step towards destroying Zone. For the time being there's not much to work on. I don't think they will do anything anytime soon. We sabotaged their plan of sending 18 Indian girls to Mexico. They will rest for a while now before preparing for another strike. We didn't leave any footprints behind. The only thing I'm worried about is that Aashi had gathered information about this organization when she was still working with the government agency. Her name is out there. She needs to be careful." Captain Ram said looking at veer and Varun.

They both nodded.

It was already one week since the operation. Since they were not very busy, Veer and Aashi had spent quite some time together. Geet was really busy with her assignment. She had read on the news that 18 girls had been saved by an unknown team and that they were all fine, but really terrified. She kind of guessed that this was what her brother, maan and the whole team had done. Not that they affirmed her suspicions.

She didn't spend a lot of time with maan except for him driving all the way from his house, driving her to college and dropping her back after that. Then he used to sit in the house looking at her while she was working.

He was getting used to living as a civilian now. Geet didn't know how hard that could be. Even after spending only 3 years in the army, she realized that maan had seen the horrors that soldiers had to face when facing enemies. She had heard maan talking to veer about his confrontation with a group of Pakistani Taliban when his team had gone on a rescue team to save an Indian soldier who had been held captive for so many years over there. Geet wanted maan to share these things with her. They were together now.

She smiled. She couldn't believe that they were actually together and that she wasn't going to leave him. Maan had instilled a new confidence in her. And she promised herself that she was going to make this work.

"Lets go Geet! They are waiting for us!" she heard Veer calling out. They were going for lunch at Varun's place.

They reached there shortly after. Even Meera was there. That was a surprise because she never attended their gatherings. However, as predicted, she received a call and had to leave during lunch.

After lunch everyone gathered in the living room. Maan was watching Geet. The whole week she was busy with her assignment and they didn't get time to spend together. Even now, she was talking to Aashi. Not paying attention to him at all.

"You're still not going to talk to me," Varun said to Geet.

"No. I'm not going to. That's good for you!" geet said without looking at him.

"Even after apologizing so many times?"

Geet was still angry with Varun because he had told maan their secret'. Varun had said sorry but geet as always was going to make him beg.

Maan was still watching her waiting for an occasion to get her alone. Finally she got up to get water from the kitchen. As soon as she entered, he grabbed her arms, placed his hands over her mouth and dragged her to his room. Before she started yelling at him, he cut her off and said. "I'm kidnapping you because you don't seem to care that I exist" He was actually serious and angry.

Instead of getting angry, geet laughed at him. "Oh my god maan. You are complaining that I am not paying attention to you! It's nothing like that. I was just talking to Aashi."

Maan went closer to her and, lifted her and walked towards the bed. He placed her on the bed and then lied down besides her. Slowly he bent over her. Geet smiled at him. He was almost on top of her. His face so close to her. He put her hair behind her ears and caressed her cheek. "I don't get time to spend with you geet. There's always so many people around you." He said.

He continued caressing her cheeks. He traced her lips with his thumb. He wanted to kiss her. Feel her soft lips under his. He wanted to touch her skin. Feel the softness. Slowly he kissed her eyelids shut. He placed his forehead on hers. He could hear her breathing hard. He was affecting her. He smiled. "Geet open your eyes."

Reluctantly she did. Maan was looking at her intently. His eyes intense. "I want to kiss you," he said before taking her lips. This time it was not slow. Not like the other times he kissed her before. This time it was passionate. He pressed harder on her. Sucking her lower lips and upper lips and geet could not resist. She parted her lips and let him inside. He kissed her breathless. Deep. Hard. She had never felt like this before. His hands travelled on her tummy and he slipped his hand inside her shirt caressing her. "So soft" he said. Geet responded to his kiss too. She wanted to feel him too. Her fingers knotted in his hair as she dragged him closer. Slowly maan retreated. He did not remove himself from on top of her, but instead lined his forehead on hers. She could feel his breath on her. She could still feel his hands on her bare skin of her stomach. Her shirt was lifted up to her bra. This was so new to her and she didn't know how to react. She remained still.

She had kissed him back. Maan looked at her. Her eyes were closed. She looked shaken. He pulled her shirt down. "Geet, look at me." She was breathing hard. "Open your eyes baby, its all right." She opened her eyes and maan gave her a smile. He traced his thumb on her lips and kissed her forehead. Then he lied on the other side. Geet was looking at him. He opened his arm. "Come here" he said. Geet went into his embrace and he dragged her on his chest. He rubbed her arms and held her for a while. Then he asked her. "You ok now?"

Geet nodded.

Maan chuckled and kissed her hair.

When they regained their composure, they went back and joined the others.

Bangalore- ZONE base

"You gave me your word that everything will be fine. The consignment should have reached by now. What should I answer to my customers now?" the boss was seething in anger.

"I'm sorry Sir. The man who was responsible to take the girls into the ship disappeared. I still can't find him. I went to the warehouse yesterday. The police have taken over. No one knows who came and delivered the girls. They said that they escaped by themselves. But I didn't believe that. I did some research and I found out that a girl who was working in the government security agency had done some digging and had gotten some information about us. But then she left. I could manage getting her name only. It's Aashi Khurana. There's nothing else I can find about her. it seems like her identity is not on any public records." the man said.

"I haven't left any footprints behind. I'm sure of that. If someone found something, it should be her only. Try harder, you should get something. I'm not starting collecting my next consignment until later. Get whatever you can get on her and tackle her. I don't want any problem for my customers again. I've already made a huge loss. Get that clear in your mind. I'm not giving you a single chance after that!" the boss said.

"Yes sir"

Maan and Geet, both walked in the living room. Aashi was cuddled up to veer on the couch and Varun was sipping his coffee.

They were talking about geet's dad's bungalow. Maan wondered if they were making plans go stay there for a while. He himself has not been there for a long time. Geet got excited and went to join the conversation. She sat next to the Varun forgetting that she was supposedly upset with him.

Varun glanced at maan and smiled at him. Maan just shook his head.

"So when are we going? Geet asked.

"Next Thursday geet." Veer replied.

She frowned. "Why not earlier? You guys are free! I'm done with my assignment. We can go tomorrow itself." She exclaimed.

"Baccha, you have an appointment with Sahil this Wednesday. That's why"

Geet's face changed. She looked afraid. Maan could tell "Oh! I'd forgotten about that." She said.

"Maan will be there with you this time" Veer said.

Geet looked at Veer with questioning eyes and then asked. "You're not going to come?"

Maan was also waiting for his answer. He assumed that Veer was going to come too.

But apparently he had decided not to. He looked hesitant. But he realized that geet wanted him there.

"Of course geet. I'm going to be there too."

Geet smiled.

After making all plans about their trip for Thursday, geet and Veer were leaving. Maan gave her a small peck on her lips and said goodbye.

Before Veer got into the car, Maan talked to him as no one was paying attention. "Geet still needs you Veer. She'll never stop needing you. Even though she has me," he said looking into his eyes.

Veer nodded and got into the car.
