Prologue...
The Khurana pariwaar...
It's only Dadi and Maan though Maan's Dad is also a member of this family Maan had moved away from him long back, and he is just a namesake father for Maan, Mr,khurana rarely stayed with them and has hardly spoken with Maan in the past few years.
After his mother's death, his father remarried a Canadian woman and has a family there while Maan is left under his Dadi's care...the only person maan respects and loves is his dadi, Savithri ji...
Mr. khurana's main business Khurana constructions is here in India...at Delhi and Chandigarh...
They were staying at Chandigarh till Maan joined college at Delhi...Dadi shifted with Maan to delhi...they stayed at KM while Mr.Khurana preffered his farm house whenever he came and stayed in Delhi...b'coz Maan doesn't like his father staying with them...he hates to see his father and likes to be left on his own...
As a kid he was very naughty and also a bully at school...no one had the courage to complain about Mr.Khuarna's only son. That would end their career immediately...
But Dadi tried her best to keep him under control but Maan tricked her to believe that he is the innocent victim of the others jealousy...she thought that her grandson would become more responsible and less naughty as he grows older...Maan's pranks were entertaining and there was only fun and no evil intensions...he never hurt others but just loved to be the gangleader always bossy and in command...he had a bunch of loyal soldiers at his service anytime in the name of friends...it's this bad company that surrounded him for money which proved to be fatal at the end...
Being this spoilt brat Maan somehow got into this habit of drinking...while appreciating his talents as a budding cricketer Dadi's only concern is his drinking habits...
This sums up our hero MSK...
Enough said about love and affection, let's come back to the main point...
It's a cricketer's story and you need a cricket lover...
Vicky Handa...Geet's elder brother...the Tom of the house and Geet is his little Jerry...
They always keep fighting like kids even now...
And Vicky is the one who influences Geet's life the most...
Although they never agree about anything and everything on earth, they have a common love for cricket...
Vicky introduced Geet to cricket...
For him cricket is a religion and sachin is his God almighty...
Maninder is also a cricket fan and a diehard fan of bhaji, kapil Dev...
How can he forget his icon winnig the 1983 world cup...
Though dhoni and his boys conquered the world cup for the second time he considers the 1983 world cup special and for him that is the ultimate achievement in Indian cricket history...no one can beat that record...winning the world cup fot the first time...
Actauly Vicky got addicted to cricket watching matches with his father...whatever cricket knowledge he has he has imbibed from his father...this is the family fortune that Mr.Handa proudly handed over to his heir...
The only person who is a cricket illiterate in the house is poor ranno...
For her cricket is a boring game with the same sequernce repeated a million times...yes, it's always the same thing! The bowler bowls and the batsman hits and the ball is back in the bowlers arms to repect the cycle...
She is puzzled how one could see the same thing repeatedly for hours...
She gets pissed off when she calls them for dinner and they say that they would come in a minute and stick to the TV for hours...
Maninder keeps saying..."just one wicket", " abhi dekho agla wicket ghir jayega"
And Ranno would keep waiting till the innings gets over...
Ranno ko kuch samajmein nahi aatha ki ye bowler ek ball sahi dalne ki itna samay kyun letha? Itne saal practice karke bhi ek ball sahi nahi dal saktha? Aur ye log issko dekhkke wah wah karthe...
For her the omly change is the colour of the dress the palyers wear...
That too in recent times...earlier it used to be only white...
Maninder brought a colour TV for the 1992 world cup and Ranno was very angry with him for getting aother TV unnecessarily while that old B&W TV was more than enough for viewing that stupid cricket game...she was planning to get a pair of diamond earings for herself instead...
She keeps on complaining that Handaji is spoiling her son's studies...both of them wake-up at the early hours of the morning to watch the matches played abroad...
But when it comes to attending a wedding at that time, Handaji complaints that these people are insane to have the functions at these hours...
Same goes with Vicky too, when there is an exam he can't even wake up at six...but if there is a match then it's a different story...
Ranno kept Geet away from this crazy game till she cleared her class X boards...
But at that time IPL started ans as usual the two men turned the house into a cricket ground and poor Geet couldn't even get to sleep though her exems are over...
She often peeps out of her room to see the morons celebrating a wicket or asixer...and those insane acts of her father and her brother made her curious about cricket...
She can understand her brother jumping like a bunny but her father? He is a respectful officer and here he is behaving like a child...
Geet used to join them for a few minutes just as Ranno serves them dinner...
Ranno had shifted the dinning to the hall for this way she could finish her work in time and go to bed earlier...
Geet helps Ranno and later she also got involved in the game...
She is surprised to see her brother gulping litres of cola till his favourite team finished batting...he believed that scored as much as he drank!
Her father kept on hitting the poor bean bag hoping to see a six from sachin everytime he faced a ball...
Sometimes they insist Geet to stay in the same position till India won the match...
They believed that it was lucky for India, these things happen when they loose hope in their starts and hope to turn the match around by these lucky charms...
Vicky wears the same T-shirt everytime India plays Pakistan...the one he wore on the day India created history by winning the first T20 world cup...
by that time India won thw world cup in Mumbai Geet too became a crazy cricket fan...
After India won the cup under Dhoni she too became a maniac...
Her favourite cricketer is Virat..(every girl's favourite?)
She also likes boom boom Afridi, hope Dawan makes it big one day like him...
And she just loves the Punjabi puthar YuvRaj...
Hats off to this man for his courage and resilience, what a comeback!

Oh...oh...enough of our real heroes and let's come back to oue reel hero...MSK...
Poor MSK! It's hard for him to fit into a cricket team, but what to do? Geet being a cricket fan he had to don the cricketer's role, haina babaji?
Just thinking about the plight of the Umpire who rules Maan out by mistake! Maan would burn him to ashes with his angry looks...
Oh ...guys, this is realy funny, MSK playing cricket for India? Just can't imagine! OK OK , aaise hi sochthi rahoon toh ye story aage nahi badega...so you too stop analyzing and just try to believe MSK as a cricketer...MSK, the cricket star...this is crazy, haina?
Maan's career so far...
Maan played for Punjab in the Ranjis for a couple of years, it was not that difficult for him to get into the Punjab side. Being a Khurana, son of Mr.Amarnath Khurana helped him for once in his lifetime...later on he survived with his batting abilities and clean hits...
Lets say he got into the Indian team after Dhoni and the boys won the world cup...I can't imagine MSK to be part of that winning team, that would be unfair...
Since then he has been playing for India regularly...
And as you know he has a huge female fan following, girls drool over his looks rather than admiring his game...MSK haina ?
So that's it...
