Geet watched him walk away knowing very well that despite what he told her, despite breaking their relationship, he was hurting every bit as much as she was. She knew that this didn't just affect her but affected Maan just as much. A few seconds later she saw Shaina run after Maan. What hurt Geet the most wasn't the fact that he had left her for someone else. She would have even been happy for him had it been someone else. Someone that he liked. Not just Geet but everyone else knew that the only reason Maan was with Shaina was because she was the reason that Maan and Geet were no longer together. She had pretended to be an innocent victim and made Geet the guilty one.

As the last note played the crowd maintained their silence. They were awestruck by the band's performance. They had never heard this kind of music played by the band. They were used to the rocking, crowd pumping music that usually emitted from the band. They stood their blown away. Aryan walked up beside Geet and took the mic from her, knowing very well that she was in no state to speak. That's how she had been the past month. Not herself. She always wanted to be alone and whenever she wasn't performing or wasn't in lectures she was always writing music. The band had to admit that it was the best music they had had but it wasn't worth losing Geet for it. "Thanks everyone for supporting us today. It was a huge risk for us to try something new in the competition tomorrow and we're sure that if you guys loved it everyone else will. Please do come to support us at the competition tomorrow because without the support from all our friends we'd never be able to get this far. Enjoy the rest of your day guys," with that Aryan switched off the mic and the band embraced the cheer coming from the crowd.

The crowd had cleared and the band began packing up. Naina shoved her guitar in its case and walked over to Geet. She had noticed for a while that Geet was sitting alone on the edge of the stage not talking to anyone. Geet was always the most excited for the competition but it seemed that since a month ago the girl that is their friend isn't Geet but someone else. "Geet," Naina called her tapping her shoulder. Geet turned around and saw Naina standing behind her. She looked at Naina and the turned back to look at the empty courtyard. Geet was like a sister to Naina and Naina didn't have to ask her to know what was wrong.

There was an empty space in Geet's life without Maan. He came so suddenly and so quickly that Geet didn't even realize when she fell in love. Naina still remembered the day when Geet swore she she'd never love anyone. She had been broken once before and just managed to put herself back together. Geet had gotten engaged to her father's best friend's son a few years ago, despite being reluctant. She reasoned with herself that maybe it won't be so bad. It was what her father wanted and so she couldn't deny him. Slowly Geet got accustomed to her fiance and did fall in love with him but months before their wedding he left. He broke her and left. Not justifying what he did and why he did it. He just did it and left. Naina knew that Geet was strong but she wasn't sure Geet was strong enough to put herself back together a second time. She knew that Geet had vowed not to love after Arnav had left her but Maan came into her life like a tornado. He shook everything up and made her fall in love again, then left. What Geet had felt for Maan was more than love. It was as if she had become a part of him and he had become a part of her. Without Geet, Maan was incomplete and without Maan, Geet was incomplete. Now there was no one and no way to fill up that empty space in her life. Everybody was worried about her. Not just Naina but Aryan, Pari and Vicky as well. The time that band spent together turned them into the greatest of friends and even Maan had become a part of them but everything happened so suddenly.

Naina watched get hop off the edge and land on the ground. "Geet where are you going?" Naina called after her but she just walked away silently. Everyone had by now been waiting for Geet to say something or even do something but they had gotten nothing. They looked at Naina expectantly. "She needs space. She'll open up in her own time. We've just got to give her the time," Naina said close to tears. Aryan wrapped his arms around her knowing how shaken she was with the whole situation. She was Geet's sister' after all. "Naina," she looked to Vicky who had called her, "we've got to do something. We can't give her time and we can't let her open up. She'll break and you know that. As it is she's driving herself crazy writing all these songs. We've all heard her sing them; we've all heard the lyrics. If that's what she's feeling and that's what she's going through we have to do something and do it now. Otherwise we won't be able to save her," Vicky said, worry audible in his voice.

Naina looked at Aryan as if to tell him something and walked off towards her car. She got in and drove off headed towards the biggest house in the city Khurana Mansion. She couldn't help but remember how it all started.

The crowd had cleared and the courtyard was almost abandoned except for the one lonely figure standing in the middle. The band was packing up and Aryan noticed him, "Maan!" he yelled. Maan looked at Aryan and saw him signalling him to come to them. Maan made his way to the stage and greeted everybody with a quick hi. Aryan hugged him and introduced him to everyone, "Maan, you already know Vicky. This is Pari, my sister and our bass player, Naina, our guitar player," he said as he pointed to them. "And that's Geet, our singer," he said indicating to a hunched figure sitting on the edge of the stage. Aryan noticed Maan walk towards Geet and sit down beside her. He shook his head and turned his attention to Naina.

Geet didn't notice Maan sit down beside her but was rather engrossed in scribbling away. She felt that she was on the verge of writing a masterpiece. Not for the competition, but for her collection. They were generally songs that just came to mind or was something she was thinking about. The songs from her collection were always used during practice to have some fun or when someone wanted to join the band. That was always the best part for Geet. People always generally thought that they could sing better than Geet so when it came time to audition Geet gave them the sheet music to her songs and told them to sing it. She had fun watching them struggle to read the music as well as sing, but she was never the one to turn them down. That was Aryan's job. She had scribbled down the last line and turned to her right noticing the figure looking at her intently. She looked at him curiously, "You are?" she asked politely. Maan was brought back to reality, "Oh...uhm... sorry. I'm Maan. I joined college a few days ago. I'm friends with Aryan." Geet's lips broke into a wide smile. "Well why didn't you meet us earlier? Any friend of Aryan's is a friend of ours," Geet said enthusiastically. Maan looked at her awestruck. He couldn't believe this girl. She was amazing. He had never come across anyone like her.

"Hey Geet!" Aryan called, "we're heading back to my place to rehearse for tomorrow. Are you coming?" Maan and Geet both stood up and Maan said a soft bye' and turned to leave when he felt someone grab his arm, pulling him back. "Where do you think you are going?" Geet questioned him. He looked at Geet blankly. "You're coming with us. You're our friend now. So where we go, you come," she said grinning and dragging him to her car.
