PART IX. SOME ROMANTIC MOMENTS!

"NAHI!", Geet shouted while glaring at Maan. Maan closed his eyes praying to any God available to give him patience for a while or else he was sure he would strangle Geet pretty soon, lover or not. After yesterday's debacle of Maan accidently insulting Geet, Maan had decided to start ignoring Dev's advice. It was obvious to him now that all the advice Dev gave were for girls he dated and not the type of girl Geet was. So Maan decided to just ignore Dev and use his own brain. Pretty soon, he remembered his Daadima saying once that when it came to matters of love forget the brain and listen to your heart and Maan decided to follow his Daadima's words and ignored all the plots and plans made by Dev. And hence, here he was trying to pick Geet up from her office. "Geet please!", Maan spoke in a calm voice, "Get in the car!" Geet shook her head while glaring at him, "Nahi! Main nahi aane waali!" She looked up and mumbled, "Dekha! Dekha aapne Babaji! Kaise baat karte hain yeh mujhse! Inse keh dijiye ki mujhe inse baat hi nahi karni!" She folded her arms against her chest and huffed. Maan rolled his eyes at her antics and got down from the car. She looked at him and frowned. He got near her and she felt nervousness creep into her. Suddenly, he grabbed her hand and before she could react, he opened the car door and practically threw her in. He closed the door and got in from the other side. She glared at him as he started the car. "Dekhiye Maan! Aap mere saath aisi zabardasti nahi kar sakte. Gaadi rokiye!", Geet spoke up. Maan gave her a glare and continued driving. Geet start shouting, "Maine kahaa gaadi rokiye! Abhi ke abhi!" When Maan did not react, she tried to grab the car keys. Maan caught her hand and glared at her, "Geet! Do minute shanti se baith sakti ho." Geet shook her head and Maan growled, "Fine! I am sorry!" Geet frowned and Maan continued, "Kal ke mere bartaav ke liye. And to make up for my fault, main tumhein dhaabe pe khaana khilaane le jaa raha hoon. Got it! Ab toh shanti se baitho!" Suddenly, Geet stoped glaring and started grinning. She excitedly shouted, "Dhaabe pe dinner! Pehle kyun nahi bataaya? Main toh chup chaap gaadi mein baith jaati!" Maan shook his head and roared, "Geet! Surprise naam ki bhi koi cheez hoti hai!" Geet bit her tongue and remained quiet for rest of the trip.

Soon, they reached the Dhaaba and were eating dal makhani, roti and sabzi. Both of them remained quiet the whole time they were eating. Just as there Lassi arrived, Geet's phone beeped indicating a message. She burst out laughing after reading it and Maan frowned in confusion. Geet explained all the while laughing, "Woh ... he he he... Dev...Dev ne Joke bheja... He he he!" Maan felt jealousy stir inside him and he grumbled, "Tum usse jyaada hi close ho! Nahi?" Geet nodded not noticing his anger, "He is my best friend. Infact, NT se maine hi toh uski introduction karwaayi thi. Aur jab use NT se pyaar hua toh main hi thi jise usne pehle yeh baat bataayi!" Maan looked at her with sadness, "Bahut dard hua hoga na?" Geet looked at him in confusion and Maan elaborated, "Jab tumhein pata chala ki he doesn't love you!" Geet continued to give him a confused look and Maan continued, "You know, with you loving him and all!" Geet's jaw dropped open and after few seconds of silence she burst out laughing. Now it was Maan's turn to be confused. She stopped laughing and shyly looked at him. Should she... Yes, she should. They were friends. There was no harm in telling him now. Worst situation would be he would reject her but she had to try right? She smiled and mumbled softly, "Ab tak toh aapko samajh jaana chaahiye Mr. Maan Singh Khurana ki mujhe kaun pasand hai!" As she pointedly looked at him, his eyes widened. He remained silent for few seconds trying to get his brain to work enough to give her a response. After a while, she could not stand his silence anymore and got up and walked away. Maan just sat there in shock till her words finally penetrated his brain. He started grinning at this news. He got up from the place and went and stood by Geet. She sensed him but remained staring in front unsure of what he felt for her.

Maan felt his breath stop for a moment when he saw the love in her eyes.

She looked away but Maan stared at her.

Maan caught her hand in his hand and held it tightly.

Geet smiled but remained quiet. She realized his answer at that moment.

Maan took few steps sideways getting close to her.

Geet leaned towards him and placed her head on his shoulder.

He lifted her face with his hand and kissed her forehead.

Maan grabbed Geet's hand and dragged her away to the car but she pulled her hand away and stood there enjoying the rain.

He felt his heart skipping beats as he saw her standing in the rain with rain drizzing down her face giving her an ethereal look.

He walked towards her letting himself get wet.

Geet was standing in the middle of the road with her hands outstretched and eyes closed.

well about time man
that he ignored dev advice they are useless when it comes to geet
well thats one thing out of the way then

awww he was so jealous of dev there right
when he doesnt need to of course
good thing she told him
he didnt really have to tell her she did it for him
man her reaction to her being in love with dev was just what i expected
