Hi Avi,
Finally in 9 days I completed 36 parts of your 'The Locket' and d first feeling that I got as I finished d 36th part is that the story is still very young, abhi to bahut door jaana hai!!!!!
I told you previously that U r one of the best that GF has and now I can say that surely as I've read U.
Wow, you are a fast reader. There is a little bit left to the story, you are right about that. Thanks for the compliment but you and I know that there are some much more talented writers here and since this is only my first FF I am still far from that.
I m reading stories on Maaneet since almost two years but can you believe for d first time my favorite character is not Maan or Geet [Tho I love them d most in this story too]
The character which appealed to me the most is of Naintara's.I instantly fell in love even when I didnt know that its NT.The crowded bus incident when she heeled d lech and den rebuked d aunty who tried to show false support. And as the story progressed I was more impressed by her and her life story saddened me.
NT has a lot of issues in the way she was raised also. Her story will unfold slowly. I am surprised you did not mention Dev as most are in love with him..😃I specially love your style of writing d story in two folds, which later became many folds with Poonam-chandan,Mitali,kabir-megha,Adi-pinky stories. And bravo to you to keep the story as you've planned though our readers demanded only for Maaneet.
It was heart breaking to me when I lost half of my readers in the Prologue itself. But I am satisfied that whoever is left is truly interested in all the characters and are accepting them as I go along. I almost gave up after chapter 3 but I have a wonderful band of readers and writers who kept me going. Besides that I never give up.😃
Another amusing fact is that our Maan didnt talk much if not for last few updates,he almost kept mum and yet never failed to show his emotions. The best part of Maaneet story was when Maan went to drop Geet to the bus stop and then had an accident, the emotions were overwhelming. Then d part when Geet cried her heart out hugging Maan, god even I got tears.
It was hard to write the parts when they did not have much dialogues but I liked it too. Love generally starts silently for most people. If i say about Dev-Nt,i loved their initial fight and later their dilemma regarding their heart. The best part of their story was in that village when they had to share a room and Dev kissed her and then the part on Dev's birthday when he brokenheartedly said"Tum sad death night kahogi toh bhi chalega".God my heart went out for him.
Dev has a long fight with her for her heart. Love makes us vulnerable like that. Both Poonam's and Mithali's story compelled me to think what fate can make out of us.Kabir and chandan,it hurts to see both poor souls struggling.
Another salient feature of you writing is obviously your excellent use of music. You blend d songs so beautifuly with each emotion. All d VMs at the end are a treat.I havnt seen many of them previously.
But among all the songs my favourite one is the one u used first, for Maan and his parents-"Beqarar dil tu gaye jaa".I m deeply in love with old melodies but i was shocked that I cudnt remember this song, and I downloaded it immediately and since then I listen to it daily,I m jst in love with d lyrics and d situation of Maan's parents and later Maan singing it alone has imprinted in my mind.
I played it a lot when I was writing it and believe it or not I cried writing that part.
I can go on and on but its not possible that I can explain my feelings in one post but I hope You got d gist, that I m deeply in love with d story. And you have one regular reader now onwards.
Bas ek confusion hai,why is d story called 'The Locket"?The mention of the locket has only been once, may be in d 1st part.May be I've to wait for that which I m ready to do.
It was supposed to be an OS or at most an SS but friends forced me to turn it into an FF, hence the mention of the locket hasn't happened but once. It will come up soon.Thanx to you for giving me d link of d awesome story.Otherwise I wud've missed it.Thanx Avi.
