"Dev beta, yeh sab kya hai...", Daadima held the paper open to the page with the article about him and Pari, "...you are aware that Singhania is a family friend. I know you don't even like Pari so what is all this about".
Savitri Devi was at her wits end with Dev's behavior. She started in on him as soon as he walked in the door after work.
For Dev, it was another irritation added on to his stock for the day. Nothing seemed to be going his way today. First there was the dream that had kept him awake tossing and turning. He ran his hands through his face and his hair as he walked over to Nakul in the kitchen.
"Yeh kaisa bakwas lunch bheja tha tumne Nakul", he stormed in angrily.
"Dev Sir, it is what you like, your favorite pasta".
Nakul, who had never seen Dev so angry, was shook up by it.
"What rubbish Nakul! There is no taste in this, there is no spice. You better not send such terrible food for me again I am warning you!", he threatened as he made his way upstairs.
Savitri devi watched with her mouth agape. What was wrong with her sweet Dev? The boy never got angry at anyone and in the matter of a few hours he was shouting at Nakul, going to go out with Pari according to the papers and ignoring her. Most important, ignoring her? How could he? She had checked his lunch box herself to make sure it tasted the same as she always made it for him and Maan. He actually stomped up the stairs without addressing her. What could be wrong, she wondered. She decided to give him some time alone to sort it out and get some rest. If he did not answer her face to face, she had other means. Daadi always had a way to get things out of Mr. Dev Khurana and nobody, I mean nobody was going to ignore Savitri Khurana. She smirked at the thought...
