She woke with the most contented smile on her face. The smell of barn n bright light of sun made morning delightful. Her body was tucked in his warmth. He had his shirt on, the button were open. The partition wrapped around her securely. She stretched n realized why she was hidden inside his shirt pressed to his form, because she was naked. That was the actual wake up call. She pulled herself into a sitting position instantly.
Oh god!! What did they...? She tried to remember. Scenes played in her mind, random bits n pieces, words n sentences swirling around. She held her head as echoes of last night screamed to her. Him being just in shirt ringed a faint bell but nothing more. How did she come here? She had a bad headache. Standing up she felt dizzy. Somehow she collected her clothes that were scattered around n wore them.
The door of the stable was half open she wondered if someone saw them. Quickly she picked up Maan's underwear n pants and made him wear them. He groaned n twisted but remained asleep. She thanked the heavens and before leaving looked back at him. Nothing had changed she was still the same unlucky Geet but strangely enough she believed in god again.
His hand came out to search for but he didn't find what he was seeking for. He sat up and the movement caused his head to spin. Crap!! He felt empty yet filled and what was he searching for? Geet? Yes, she was here. Wasn't she? He knew. His restlessness increased as he tried to recall the happenings that were causing such extreme anxiety. He stood up looking around at the stable; her musky, sweet smell filled the air n his skin prickled with her touch. Each cell sang of her name n a slow smiled graced his lips. It disappeared the next moment evaporating in heat of confusion n worry. If she was here-which he was sure of-where did she go then?
He came to back to his quarters where Geet was also staying. Just as he entered his cell rang.
She cried on the phone, looking at herself in the mirror, it was all so horrible. She didn't know how this happened but it was a big-big mistake. How could she be such a big fool do something so idiotic?
Why are you crying?

Geet didn't know what was wrong but she was worried now. Shanaya first calm down n breath, okay?

When she found him staring at her like that her heart started thudding, she gulped turning around but it was too late. He stopped her keeping his hand on her shoulder n turning her back to face him. He was so close that her wet hairs brushed his face. He took a sharp breath in n her eyes got fixed on the water the drop above his lips beside his nose. What he saw in her hazels was incomprehensible.
Her hand on its own accord came up. With a gentle stroke of her finger she wiped the drop but her sensuous touch stayed there lingering near his lips n as she leaned in close. Maan held his breath. Something mighty rouse inside him while his whole being thrummed with excitement and anticipation.
She moved back and her lowered her eyes immediately. She looked as surprised by her action as him.

A wave of hurt passed though him when he realized that she felt their night to be a mistake. It had been wonderful. He gently cupped her face but she unmovable n untouchable. He gritted his teeth as she pushed his hand away not harshly yet persistently. You were drunk and it had started raining. Of course I couldn't carry you here. Rohan was in party. So I came back.
Maan smiled crudely. You can't fool me Geet. I can see right through you.

She stood up to go into kitchen again when he spoke from behind. I wouldn't need to do that you will tell me everything from your own mouth. He challenged clenching his hand so hard that his nails dug painfully into his skin. You can't hide from me forever.
She walked away without a response. Only if knew, she wasn't hiding she was protecting.
They ate lunch in silence the tough strain between them hung in air like dangerous electric charge and it wasn't just Geet hiding issue. There was this sexual tension that had tightened around them, desperately clawing n pushing them towards each other every time their eyes met. Geet had the strongest urge to hold him to her chest n Maan' he felt like jumping over her any moment. But both remained put. Maan couldn't hide much of what he was going though. Rohan n Shanaya had left in the morning only shortening their trip and Maan was restless the whole day. He punched the wall, she wasn't telling him. It was so frustrating, the feeling of knowing being a part of something big n crucial yet remaining unaware n outcast.
By the evening they both had had enough and when Maan informed about them going back to KM, Geet felt relieved.
Jia was elated to have her Daddy back. She had agreed to stay back but had made Dadimaa's n Annie life hell. When he came back then only she let everybody breathe. Maan was also comforted, seeing the face of his daughter some of the tension on his shoulders shed off. After feeding Jia he narrator a story to her n she fell asleep. Which was a miracle considering her recent routine she didn't slept this early but she must be tired after exhausting Annie n her nan.
Maan too was all worn out; he knew Geet had eaten because he had seen her going downstairs for dinner. He didn't have dinner though n came back to his room with the idea of sleeping but somehow knew that won't happen. He couldn't sleep.
Geet slowly cleared her throat catching Maan's attention leaving him shell-shock. First that indescribable glow on her face, then her bold act, her comment n now she had actually taken the pain to bring his food. She noticed that he hadn't eaten? His chest swelled 10 times. She brought food for him. She really did.
Involuntarily his eyes moved down. She had changed into a simple white suit that she generally slept in.
Suppressing the joy that erupted inside and the growing desire he decided to garb the opportunity for the most vital thing and seek answers for the questions that were bugging him. It didn't matter if she regretted bringing his food; he was that anxious for the truth.
