Part 6

On one of the Saturdays I asked him, "Sir, where do you go every Sunday?"

He smiled at me, now days he does this a lot. "Why do you want to know?"

I was baffled by the way he asked. He laughed seeing my face and squeezed my palm, his touch was electrifying, and my mind went blank. I was sitting on the executive chair and he rotated it making me feel dizzy.

"Will you accompany me?" he asked me intently

I was surprised by his offer, "Will you take me?"

"Depends if your parents permit me to take you" he teasingly said.

This side of him was new to me, his eyes seemed naughty.

Later after dinner, he asked my father, "Uncle, I was thinking why we don't go to picnic tomorrow"

My father nodded, "good idea but Beta ji I and your aunty have to go to a marriage tomorrow, By the way where do you plan to go"

"To that old fort area" he said sounding a bit disappointed.

"Why don't you take Geet with you, I think she has history this semester, it would be nice if she visits the fort"

"Geet, that too with me, No Uncle please spare me, I only know how I tolerate her for these 2 hours. Its only Auntie's food that motivates me to stand her pea sized brain" he said looking quite genuine

I was like what is this, I could have cried then and there.

"Look Uncle, doe she not look like ready to cry" he laughed

"It will do her good, if you can take her." My father genuinely said

"I was joking uncle, I had not meant to be mean, she is a fine girl and a very studious student" he said

"Ok so it is done, you and she will go tomorrow to the fort, I will pack eatables for you" my mother said

"Well then I think we can leave at 6 am so that we will be back for lunch" he said

I was happy with the arrangement, and went to my room.

As I had left early I did not know that my bro was also to accompany us with his fiance.

Next day I found my bro ready and his fiance sitting in a tracking dress.

I did not like it, but later I appreciated him when my mother told me how Sir has pursued my bro to come with us and suggested him to invite his fiance.

At the fort my bro and would be Bhabhi were lost in each other to disturb us, they just sat by the lake which was running near the fort and forgot us.

Sir showed me the whole fort, "Geet, I come here every Sunday, this place gives peace to my restless mind"

"It's beautiful sir" I said

"Why don't you use you Nokia 6600 to take some photographs" he suggested

I readily took it out and started taking pictures. He took his Sanyo Camcorder and shot a video. Later I saw it, it was basically my video, I blushed.

"Geet, I am due to leave in a month, I want to take few of your memories with me"

I simply nodded, with him I was always at loss of words.

"I have been to this place years back when my father was posted here"

"Your father too is in the army" I asked

"He was in the army, he is no more now"

"I am sorry, sir"

"It's Ok he died many years back"

There was a pregnant silence for some time. We sat there for long, he took my palm in his and rubbed his thumb on the back of it, it felt good.

"My father use to bring me here every Sunday. That day was also Sunday when we got the news of his demise I was waiting for him."

I could feel his hold tighten

"And then we moved to my grandparents place. When I got a chance to join an office, I came here, so that I could me near my childhood at least for 6 months"

"He loved you very much"

"Yes, he was the best Father"

"Just like my father is the best"

"Yes" he nodded. "But mine was better"

"No mine is better"

"No mine"

"No mine"

"Mine"

"Mine"

We would have continued but were interrupted

"What happen why are you two fighting?"

It was my Bro, I looked at Sir and he looked at me sheepishly and touches the back of his neck, a gesture he usually do when at loss of words.

"I asked why you two were fighting."

"Nothing, it was just whose father is better" he supplied in a low tone

My Bro had a hearty laugh, "every man who loves his kids is the best father in the world"

The visit to fort was very informative; I learnt that his family had his mother, two brothers, one sister and his grandmother. They were in construction business. And he planned to take over the firm as soon as he completed his studies i.e., as soon as he completes his training viva. His brother was doing civil engineering and the youngest was planning to pursue law. While his sister wanted to be an interior designer.
