PART 7
Maan watched geet. It was not as if this was the first time he saw some beautiful girl but this was the first time he was noticing. Geet was looking back at the Ganges while a serenity touched her face, her open hair was dancing in the wind getting tangled yet she was not worried about them. Her white and red dupatta was hanging carelessly and suddenly Maan realized geet was beautiful, It was not the beauty of her face or skin colour but her beautiful heart that had made him want to bow down in front of her.
Geet turned towards Maan only to find him watching her with some unfathomable expressions in his eyes, It was not only that of appreciation but of that of reverence. Geet walked towards him as if pulled by an invisible thread. Time stood still as they stared at each other oblivious to the world around. The silence prevailed as the two souls talked through the unknown language of eyes.
A sudden noise of low flying flight made them break their eye lock. Geet lowered her eyes as realization dawned on her as to how she was continuously staring at Maan. Maan was amused to see her blush. Maan started the conversation knowing geet might be feeling awkward.
" so geet you never told why you are here so early in the morning?"
" Oh I visit here often and I love the morning puja"
" hmm. "
" Why did you come?"
" I am a tourist. It's my first and maybe last trip here so I will try to visit every place that's there to watch. But what I don't understand is why do you visit it the very next day of your arrival? Weren't you supposed to be taking rest?"
Geet was quite for few moments wondering if she should tell him the truth. But one look at him and she felt he deserves nothing but the truth. She replied in a soft voice," Maan, whenever I had been in trouble I come here. I don't mean troubles like bad preparation for exam but something different. It's like when I am having some conflict of mind I come here and the serene environment gives me peace. I always get my answers here."
" so you were in some conflicts when you came here?"
" yeah "
" so I hope you got your answers ?"
Geet looked up sharply as she realized that maybe finding Maan here of all the places was the answer itself. She had come here to understand why she was continuously thinking of Maan. Maybe Maan coming there was babaji's way of showing her that he was the one chosen for her. She looked at him with determination as she spoke," babaji have his own way of answering the questions. For now I will let Him guide me and won't think too deeply and maybe I will figure out things on its own."
Geet looked at her watch only to find that she had spent almost four hours there. She needed to get back. Raising her head geet spoke," Maan, I need to get going. "
" yeah, I too will get going."
" chalo let's get on the boat"
" hmm."
And very soon they were sitting on the row boat. Being morning time it was quite and less crowded and they both stood near the edge. Geet looked up only to find Maan thinking something deeply. She shook him a little holding on to his arm. " where are you lost?"
" thinking about something. "
" may I know what is keeping you aloof to the surroundings?"
" I have spent my entire childhood understanding how important it is to be practical and suddenly today you asked me to dream again. My mind and heart are at war geet? Whom do I listen to?"
Geet smiled softly. She realized deep down he is still a kid may be forced to be grown up at a young age. She turned him towards her and spoke, " Maan why are you thinking so much? Do what you truly feel like. Sometimes it is really necessary to live a little just for us and trust me that won't make you a selfish person."
Maan smiled a dazzling smile making geet miss a beat or two. He looked so handsome while smiling and that was a moment geet knew riddhi had always been right about all those stupid romantic novels. That mushy feeling at the pit of your stomach actually occurs in moments like this.
Geet could have spent an have spent a day watching him smile but they reached the shore. As they walked towards the place Geet's car was Maan felt an unfamiliar ache to let her go away. Even for few hours she had made him happier than what he had been in an entire lifetime. Guess money can't buy everything!!!
Geet turned to him once they reached her car.
" hey Maan, enjoy the pujas. Trust me it's worth it."
" will surely do so' geet, do you mind meeting me again while I am here?"
Geet was silent for a while making Maan more nervous. He hastily added, " I don't want to be intruding. Only if you are comfortable. "
" ey, hush!!!! Did I say I won't be comfortable? It's just that am not sure if mom would allow me. But I will definitely try. Maybe will convince ridhdhi and armaan to come along. I will give you a call. "
" ridhdhi? Armaan?"
" oh they are my besties. You would love them. In fact armaan even is in his first year of medicine so I think you both will be of same age."
" hmm. Then I will wait for your call."
" good bye Maan."
" don't say good bye geet. We have a long journey to make so let's not bring any good byes here. Goodbye makes me feel as if this is the last meet. "
" will meet again Maan''.and don't worry!!! This is just the beginning of our friendship'we still have a long way to go'"
Geet sat on her car and left.

Geet felt like wiping away the silly grin in ridhdhima's face but she needed help. Ridhdhima took her own time being silent and finally spoke in a grave voice,
" let me get this straight'.you want to go to inox for watching a movie?"
" yes. "
" you want me to accompany you with Amy so that aunty leaves her precious daughter for an evening?"
" yes ridhdhi."
" and finally, all this trouble is for a certain GUY named Maan with G in capital?"
" yes ridhdhi, "only if looks could kill ridhdhi would have been in ashes by now.
" so miss geet handa wants to meet a guy and she needs help from me???"
"yes, miss ridhdhima gupta. Now will you stop making silly comments and make some planning''."
" oh chill sweety!!!! Amy is a master in the art of sneaking out so just wait and watch!!! Mission Maan has officially begun!!!"

Geet huffed after finishing her speech. Armaan looked at her incredulously as he stated " any miss geet exactly how will this plan fail? It's perfect "

" armaan you are really bringing it onto yourself''Oh arghghgh!!! Ridhdhi!!! How can you date this Dumbo??"
Armaan pouted cutely at ridhdhi while geet just glared at him. Ridhdhima who was trying very hard to control these two arrogant ids couldn't hold back anymore and laughed out loud. Armaan watched her smile with a serene expression on his face. Ridhdhi was laughing out loud when she noticed armaan's expression and raised her brow a little asking what''
" If you smile like this every time I will remain a Dumbo my entire life ridhz"
While ridhdhima blushed geet shouted , " oh romeo!!! Try being original sometimes at least !!!. Do you always have to copy the cheesy lines of those films''''"

While armaan scratched his head trying to smile innocently geet glared at him being reminded why exactly she was mad at him in the first place.
In order to stop the world war 3 ridhdhi exclaimed," Geetu, I don't understand the reason you are planning soo much? I mean, aunty would allow you if you ask"
" Oh ridhdhi, I know mumma will allow me. But you know what I always wanted this. I have seen you guys meeting each other hiding from the world. I know, maybe I will never fall in love. This guy has given me opportunity to do what I always wanted to. I also want to experience the excitement of sneaking out, meet someone alone hiding from the world. For years I have always been the faithful secret keeper for my friends. I want to have a secret of mine'''.."
Ridhdhi smiled at her crazy friend and the trio started planning again.
After a lot of planning, cribbing and fighting they decided to keep it simple. Ridhdhima and geet said in their respective house that they are going to meet their hostel friend and are going to her house. When teji insisted on dropping them off armaan popped in saying he will take them to their friends house. Though everybody found things a bit fishy nobody opposed as they trusted their children.
Geet called up Maan late at night when everybody was asleep. At first Maan thought he was dreaming but then he realized it was in reality that his cell phone was ringing. He picked it up to blast whoever was there in the other side when a sweet vice echoed" Maan!! Sorry !!!sorry !!!sorry!!! I know you must be sleeping but what to do? First papaji cam and started discussing with me about my studies and my future plans. Then teji veerji came and chatted with me sharing his latest love interest pam. Her name is actually purminder( Yah she is Indian) but she loves to call herself pam. At last when he left at 11 I thought to call you up letting you know of our plans. But mumma came and she had got me home made custard and it was soo yummy and I don't know how it was 1 o'clock. Sorry!!! By the way, why aren't you saying something?"
Maan laughed out as he said, " Oh!!! Geetu if you pause only then can I speak right??"
" Oh!!! Maan I am so sorry."
" No need. I love it how you speak so freely. Anyway, What's the plan??"
" Nothing much, We will meet you at the south city mall at say 11:30am tomorrow. Then I guess we can watch a movie together. We will see what we do once we reach there."
" That's fine with me. So are your friends coming?"
" Yep. After all this all is possible only because of them. You have met ridhdhi while coming. Now I will introduce you with armaan. I am sure you both will gell pretty good."
" That's fine but I am more eager to meet my new friend."
Geet didn't know why but she didn't like it. "who is your new friend?"
" oh she is someone I met in a mall. She is really cute and sweet."
" Then go and meet her. Nobody is stopping you."
" well there is a problem."
" what??"
" she is little slow. I am chatting with her for so long and she did not realize that I am speaking about her."
Geet smiled foolishly as she realized he was speaking about her. She cribbed loudly," stop making fun of me"
But inside she was glad that it was not someone else. Even she didn't understand why she felt that way about him. But she felt a strange possessiveness about him without even realizing it.
" as you say my princess. "
" Ok Maan meet you tomorrow''''goodnight. Sweet dreams."
" Goodnight geetu. Have sweet dreams of some prince charming" he said naughtily.
Geet said " I don't dream of any prince charming. I don't have time for all this."
" you don't believe in love?"
" nope. Love doesn't exist. It is just attraction."
" why?"
" I don't know, I simply don't believe in love. I am having my full life planed out. I am concentrating on my medical entrances now. Once I complete my MBBS I will aim for higher studies."
" And your personal life?"
" Well I have a beautiful family and some amazing friends. What more do I need? Moreover I have always seen love making people weaker. Armaan and ridhdhi both love each other but I don't understand them. I mean we three have known each other our entire life. suddenly one day when Amy started praising shilpa ridhdhi became depressed. It was later we came to know that she loves Amy. And strangely even Amy likes. I don't understand these emotions."
Maan smiled softly listening to her crib yet crave love. He said in the huskiest voice possible," You want it too geetu. I can hear the craving in your voice. You also want to have that special someone to whom you can crib, you can fight and yet you know that person would be there to hold you if you fall."
" No Maan. I don't have any such wishes'.."
" Lie to me geetu no worries. But don't lie to yourself."
" I am not lying Maan. I never lie."
" Hmm. But you know it's wonderful to have someone to share your life with. You know out there one person would always be there for you no matter what. You can confide your deepest secret and darkest truth yet you know you won't be judged. Life is not a bed of roses for anyone yet it is easier to walk through the thorns if you know someone is there to sooth your wounds."
" you speak as if you have done a PhD in love. Do you love someone?"
" No geet. Not yet. But maybe I will very soon."
" Hmm. But isn't it frightening to share so much with someone? You are so vulnerable to that person showing all your weaknesses? "
" that's where trust comes. Love is all about trust geet. Love is giving power to someone to break you trusting that they won't.( line from net) you have to take that leap of faith. But I believe everybody should fall in love once. It makes us a better person."
" hmm Mr khurana. You gave me enough food for thought. Goodnight. Meet you tomorrow."
They bid each other good bye and slept off having dreams of a beautiful tomorrow. But what Maan forgot to tell geet was that if love makes someone a better person it can destroy someone as well. They slept peacefully without knowing off the storm lurking around the corner.
