Chapter 55

They sat in silence during the drive to Pinky's house. Geet was tense because it was late and she knew Pinky would give her the third degree about her "friend from Hoshiyarpur" with whom she had dinner. "Kya bolo Babaji" Geet said out loud in frustration.

"Whatever you feel like" Maan said smiling at her, knowing she meant to say those words silently to her Babaji. "Maybe, how much you enjoy my company...maybe that you find me very attractive..." he continued winking at her.

She gave him a frosty look and turned back to look out the window. "It's all your fault"

"Mmm?"

"What mmm? You know it is. If you didn't force me to come to dinner..."

"I didn't force you, Geet" Maan interjected "you had a choice, Mrs Khurana"

"Ha. What choice...you would have come into my office and...and...and...chal chado...whatever. I now need to think of what to say to Pinky"

"Tell her the truth...that you had dinner with your husband" Maan replied.

Geet ignored Maan and continued thinking in silence about what to say to Pinky.

After sometime, the car stopped.

"Kya hua?" Geet asked feeling the car come to a stop.

"We have arrived at your destination...unless you want to come home with me, that is" Maan said, knowing that it would irritate Geet.

Geet quickly opened the car door and got out, before Maan could start the car engine again. She hurried towards the house, when she felt a tug on her hand. She crashed into his hard chest and his arms went around her.

"What now, Maan?" Geet asked, wriggling and trying to free herself from his embrace.

"Geet, what sort of guest are you? Well I suppose you weren't a guest...you are my wife. But even so, Geet, do you not have any manners? Did they not teach you anything in Hoshiyarpur?" Maan teased

Geet looked at him in confusion "Huh?"

"Where I come from, we generally thank our host for a pleasant evening...but here you are, running off, without even saying good night...very bad, Geet. I think you should be punished, don't you?" Maan said mischievously.

Geet continued to look at him in confusion, but the look changed to horror when she heard the word punishment. "Does he mean to hit me Babaji?" Geet thought, remembering the punishments given by Brij.

"Geet don't look at me like that...like you are afraid of me...it really doesn't suit you" Maan said leaning down to kiss her cheek and nuzzle her neck, causing her to shudder and moan. She closed her eyes as she felt his lips kiss along her jaw line and move towards her lips. Her lips parted in anticipation and Maan noted it murmuring "So you like my punishment", against her lips before kissing her passionately. After some time, Maan loosened his hold on Geet and moved away from her lips. He kissed her cheek and said "Good night Mrs Khurana. Sweet dreams" as he walked back to his car.

Geet stood rooted in position and thought "Babaji, why does he have such an effect on me? Why am I unable to resist him?"

Maan saw Geet standing still and looking stunned and said "Are you sure you don't want to come home with me?" On hearing his words, Geet came out of her reverie, and blushed as she looked at Maan. She quickly turned towards the house and ran inside. Once inside, her phone rang. She picked it up without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello" Geet said

"Hello Mrs Khurana" Maan said huskily. "You look beautiful when you blush"

Geet's breathing became faster as she heard his voice and what he said. She didn't know how to reply so just listened in silence.

"If I hadn't ended the kiss when I did, Geet, we may have ended up embarrassing the neighbours...Are you sure you don't want to come home with me?"

"Maan, please...don't" Geet managed to say

"Ok...Don't forget lunch tomorrow...or else"

"I will be there, don't worry, Mr Khurana" Geet said cutting the call.

She put her phone back in her bag and went to the living room to face Pinky. As Geet walked into the living room, she was confronted by a sight that made her scream and turn around in embarrassment and run into her room. She had witnessed Pinky sitting in Adi Bhai's lap kissing him passionately. It was an image that she was trying to remove from her mind, when her phone rang again.

"Geet are you okay? I heard a scream...should I come inside? I am coming inside" was all she heard coming through the speaker.

"NO. Don't come inside! I am fine...Nothing to worry about Maan" Geet said trying her best not to giggle.

"Are you making fun of me? I am trying to show that I care, and you are making fun of me?" Maan said somewhat hurt.

"No...I am not making fun of you...wo...I saw something I shouldn't have" Geet said

"Like?" Maan asked

"Wo Pinky and Adi bhai.. wo...you understand, don't you?" Geet managed to say shyly.

"Oh" Maan replied, realising what she may have witnessed to cause her to scream. "Are you are okay?"

"I will be...when I get that image out of my head" Geet said laughingly.

"Well...I could come inside...and..." Maan said suggestively

"No...no need...I am fine now, thank you for asking. Good night Maan" Geet said and cut the call.

Maan smiled at the thought of Adi and a girl. "It is always the quiet ones" he thought. He sat back in his car and drove off.

In the meantime, Adi ran out of Pinky's house and saw a black car drive off. "MK's car? Again? But why? No, I must be hallucinating...I wonder what Pinky has mixed in her lip balm...or she could be right, I am obsessed with MK" he thought hitting his head as he walked towards his scooter.

Pinky knocked on Geet's door, "Geet...wo...em...sorry...I didn't want you to witness that...sorry...em...Good night...okay? Let's never talk about it, okay?...Right see you in the morning" she said before running to her bedroom in embarrassment.

Geet thought, "Thank you Babaji...at least it made Pinky forget about my dinner with my Hoshiyarpur friend" before switching her light off and drifting off to sleep holding Maan's shirt.

Thank you Avi. Have been a bit busy with work and home decorating...and managed to injure my back! Anyway I enjoyed writing this part...poor majnu Maan, jhalli Geet, saucy Pinky and bechara Adi 😆

To top it had an accident on Saturday when someone rammed their car in the back of mine...
