Maan sat in his hotel room remembering the incident from today morning. How can his plan fail? How did she knew where we were? Never in his life had he faced any loss and that too by a mere girl. She might have won this round but I will make sure she doesn't win again. She doesn't know who she is messing with. He closes his eyes seeing her in tears, it brought peace in his heart knowing for a little bit he was able to make her cry; make her suffer in sorrow and pain.
"Sir, what would be your next plan?"
Maan opens his eyes to meet his loyal assistant. Adi always did what he said no matter what, it might be because of loyalty but he knew its only because of fear. With a snap of his fingers, Adi would be annihilated from the face of this earth, no one would have known if he even existed and Adi knows that. He knows if he even thinks about betraying Maan he won't live to see another day in his life. Maan relaxes in his chair flicking the lighter on and off. The fire that the lighter ignited burned inside him the only difference is his fire cannot be diminished. He needed to revenge. He wanted her to burn.
"the next plan is to let the destiny run its course." (He smiles.) "Did you bring what I asked you to bring?"
"Yes, sir. Here is the list of things she does on weekly basis."
"Excellent." (Maan looks through the files noting every single details) "Alright, we will begin tomorrow; this time I won't fail. You may leave now" (Adi nods his head leaving Maan in his own misery and revenge mode)
Geet woke up with Animaah by her bedside. She hated the fear the stranger invoked inside her. Although, she tried hard to forget yesterday's incident the fear of loosing her daughter again was haunting her. It terrified her to know that someone was after her. Why? These questions will bother her until she gets answers. Geet caressed Animaah's face looking at her tenderly. Only she knows what she has done to protect her. Only she knows what she lost while trying to make a secure future for her and herself. If needed, she will do everything all over again. Nothing mattered to her other than her daughter and the guy knew that. He knew her weakness.
She quickly dials the detective who was helping her with this case.
"Hey its Geet. Have you found anything yet? Any clue?"
"No, Geet. Whoever tried to do this was very good and clean. He knew what he was doing hence he didn't leave any clue for us to follow. Am sorry, Geet"
"I am sorry too for trusting someone again. I will find the guy myself and when I do I will handle him my way."
"Geet don't do anything stupid. How about we meet up for lunch to discuss this?"
"discuss what? Someone tried to kidnap my daughter and you know I will do anything to protect her."
"I know Geet that is why I am personally handling your case. Please let talk in person."
"Fine. I have to do some errands after I will meet you up. I will text you when I am done. Bye"
"Which one do you want Animaah?"
Geet held two different toys in front of her daughter letting her decide whichever she liked the best. She needed to get things out of her system. She needed to forget for a short while; right now it was her daughter that mattered. Animaah looks at the two toys with big eyes and a smile before grabbing both the toys. Geet smiles.
"I knew it. Now, lets quickly finish out grocery shopping. It looks like big storm is coming tonight"
Right now I should focus on my daughter and her bright smile looking at the toy. She always made me feel safe and only I know what I had done to make sure she is safe. She is the only one I have now. I just hope the detective has some good news for me but I know nothing ever worked in my favor as long as I could remember. One thing that I learned from when I was little was that you have to make your own destiny. No one else is gonna be there to help you. No one. As she was putting her groceries in the car .Animaah drops one of her toy. Geet was about to pick up the toy when she saw two pair of feet standing right next to the it.
"here let me help you with that"
Geet looks at the guy that helped pick up the toy for her. He gently hands it to Animaah who was more than happy to get her toy back. He was tall, with light stubble, big glasses and spiked front hair. He smiled at Geet before looking at Animaah. He was wearing loose buttoned up t-shirt with light jeans making him look scrawny and very skinny. Geet stands in front of her daughter blocking her from the stranger.
"Thanks."
"Beautiful kid you got there. I have a neice just about her age. She does the cutest things sometime that just makes me smile."
"hmm am sure that's nice. Anyway thanks for helping with the toy." (Geet closes the door picking up Aminaah in her arms.)
"uhh miss before you go could you tell me where I can find this address? You see I just moved to this city so am not too sure about my surroundings yet." (Geet looks at the piece of paper with an address.)
"I don't know. Sorry."
"Alright no problem. Do you come here often? It would be nice to have a friend in this city"
Geet places Animaah in her carseat giving the toy to keep her busy. She walks back to the guy that was standing behind her car enabling her to drive off. She stands real close to him making him take a step back until he was out of her driving range.
"Listen just hope that we don't meet again. I never nor ever will need a friend." (The guy looks at her shocked by the rude comment. She walks to her car without looking back driving off leaving him stranded. Geet looks back at her rear-view mirror to see the guy smiling and waving her off. What a creep she thought. Anyway, there are other things she has to focus her mind on, like finding that person who kidnapped her daughter.
Geet sat at the cafe ariving little bit early just to gather her thoughts. Animaah was on her high-chair playing with her food. Geet kept turning every five minutes as if she knew she was being watched, although she was not wrong on that part. Maan's eyes were on her the minute she left the house..she was his first priority.
Now, he sat just right behind her not knowing what evil she will face soon. He sips his coffee pretending to read the newspaper while his ears were focused on her. He could hear her daughter laughing, she was lucky that her daughter was still with her or else he doesn't leave any proof nor lets go of his enemies that easily. He could smell her perfume that she wore...it was unique and the smell he could not forget. Something just seemed right.
"Hello Geet"
"Hi. Now, lets get to business. What are you going to tell me in person that you couldn't say over the phone. Anything new?"
"I see you are still the same; straight to the point"
"Anyway, what do you have for me?" (The detective sighs as he sits down. He looks at Animaah playing with her toy oblivious to what is going on.)
"Not much. The reason I wanted to meet you was to tell you to stop. Stop looking for the guy."
"Why would i stop? You know something don't you? Tell me!"
"Listen Geet just forget about it. The guy that kidnapped her seems to be very powerful. There is no lead. I think we should just stop right here, at least for now. If he attacks again, then..."
"Then what? I should just wait for him to show up again? Is that your solution?"
"Geet.."
"you know what coming here was a mistake. I have to go now."
"Geet you know am always there for you. When you (the guy looks around before leaning toward her) when you were locked up I was the only one that helped you. How can you forget that?"
"I didn't forget nor I ever will. I haven't forgotten the circumstances that led me to jail. Anyway, thanks for this meeting. I have to go home now."
Geet leaves with her daughter leaving behind the detective. Maan puts down his newspaper as he sips his last drop of the coffee. He dabs his lips as he gets up to leave. Adi, his assistant, was waiting outside in the car.
"Time to put fourth our plan."
Adi nodes his head yes as they drive away from the restaurant.
