Caught!

I liked that.
Maan's character getting rounded fully. The background that he is from, who he is, how his life is you gave us a deep view of him. The essential for me in reading stories always seems to be the effort where a writer rounds out the character for the reader. Helps me to understand the inner workings of each person. His mother's struggle, his admiration for his brother and how they have made a new life for themselves came out very beautifully. I remember once someone telling me that if you write your words should paint the scene for the reader. They should be able to close their eyes and the scene should enact in front of them. You made that happen.
The essential routine of his day and every place she plays a part. Even his mom is teasing him about her! When does someone become so much of you and still remain so far away, you captured this very nicely.
The aloof attitude towards the project, the uthak-bethak for Anaya and Ayush, cafe, bowling all of it gives us a glimpse of the perfect college life and yet it is incomplete without her. Always the question at the back of his head.
Looking forward to how these two muddle through the first meeting.
Loved it Mariam.
Now even more eager to read more.

I am so glad that you like it, Avi! Actually, relieved would be the right word! As I mentioned before the chapter, I wasn't too happy with the way it came out but since I had promised you for Monday, I just had to post it. I can breathe a sigh of relief now! 😳

Thanks for this lovely comment! 🤗
And chor kabhi na kabhi toh pakda hi jaata hai na! 😉
