I agree with both you and Shika. That from Maan's side, it was an accident and a mistake. The soup incident was not directly his fault. And I don't think Geet holds him responsible for it either. She would have told him about it probably in that case, vented her anger and let him feel guilty.

But like it or not, it is a painful reminder for her of the ugly truths of her relationship. That they've prioritised their goals and ambitions ahead of their love and each other. That they've stopped caring about the little things and are on their way to forgetting the big ones. That they're both like flies in bottles - what they want is clear but they just don't know how to get there, no matter how much they bang their heads on the glass. They don't talk, they don't listen.

Wanting to reach your goals, trying to fulfil your dreams is not a bad thing by any means and they both know it. So I don't think either of them are villains in this. They're fighting on the same side but still can't get through to each other.

It wasn't in this chapter but I think I mentioned early on that these sort of incidents of letting each other down had been pushing them apart before this. So while Geet's making an effort here (and a long time ago while they were having breakfast), Maan has also made his attempts too. It happened from both sides while both of them worked to build their future. A little of it is mentioned in Geet's conversation with Anjuman.
