It makes me think that maybe that's the case - that maybe they're in the same places but at different times. But reading your conversation also struck the thought that even if they are in the same place, as Sheesh said, and at the same time, what if they don't know it? These two have been operating pretty strictly on a need-to-know basis, with exceptions during extremes such as anger, hurt or inebriation. Maybe they knew each other's every changing thought very well once upon a time but now, they seem so sure that they understand one another that they haven't bothered to update their data on the other.

(I also kept my thoughts out of it because they had moved firmly into Ramble District 😆)

I guess I agree...you know what, in these modern times (not always), couples are getting married at an older age (I remember my mom told me she got married when she was 19). For the most part they have strong careers, they are set in their ways. They are in their own "boxes" (don't know why but I like that word😆). They have lived independent lives. Then they get married and are thrown in to live together, adjust. Its harder to adjust, compromise and love over time. You tend to compromise for "love" initially and then it gets too much. Thats when differences arise. Both have to work towards a successful relationship. Also, not one can be blamed for a relation not working I feel, both have an equal responsibility. Though I cannot say I know a lot about this Maan yet. I can understand Geet, coz I see myself in her somewhere😆. I just read all comments and I must say everyone has come up with some really good thoughts👏. I am loving it.

I hope you all don't mind that I haven't yet gotten to the comments. For a change, I fully intend to reply to them all. But with the intimidatingly brilliant replies this chapter has received, I've found that I will have to book a free evening out some time this week to pick my brain apart and come up with worthwhile contributions.

The same goes for In Memoriam. I want to thank you all for your comments and love for it. That one, I take no credit for. It was an ode to something far greater than I.

There was this old song in my language where the guy dictates a letter and the girl writes it. There are few lines which I remember
"When I think, words overflow in my heart like mighty tides of the sea, poetic lines all of them are...but when I sit to write them, I find all of them to be mere words"
I feel it is applicable to me. Though there's a lot in my head about the update I realized I wrote utter crap for a comment which doesn't even sound sensible 😆
