As a reader and writer, I will say you are right but not completely.
Yes, there are FFs where there may be unnecessary and unjustifiable violence. Being quite a feminist in my thoughts I can never appreciate such FFs and I usually stay away from them
But I will not agree that 90% FFs are like that. There are many shades and I don't think it is fair to judge them as one.
For eg I have read a gem like "Dreams" by Muskanp where Maan actually forces Geet but the whole process of guilt, remorse and pain which he goes through totally portrayed the sin he did.
I have read FFs where he is harsh, aggressive but never crosses his limits. For eg:Shaitan ka ghar by Mrs MSK. Again, he could never cross the threshold even after being married to Geet because of love...
I have written two FFs and though Vivah is too gentle, but in Till Death Do Us Part, I showed how Maan was wrongly accused and his psyce and it's effect on him
So all I will say that yes there may be lot of dark FFs but all are not definately wrong. They may be hinging on delicate balance...
Yes, there are few which show Maan in very poor light and maybe never justify his behaviour. Any sin without remorse, punishment and forgiveness can not be a good role model and hence probably writers of such FFs should give a warning or think a bit about what part of society are they portraying and whom they are impacting.
