The atmosphere was tensed, Priya looked towards Maan and saw the nervousness, the tension clearly written on his face. She took a deep breath and started to tell them about Geet.

Priya: Maan, Geet and I have been best friends for about 4 years now, and in these 4 years we have become really close, she is like the sister I never had.

Maan was listening attentively, Priya gestured him and Raj to sit and she herself sat on the side sofa.

Priya: Maan, how much do you know about Geet?

Maan: not much, but she has a Bhabhi, her mom and a little niece.

Priya: there is a lot more that you need to know about her Maan.

Priya: Maan... (Priya took a long gap and she started again) Maan, Geet is a widow.

Maan was stunned, he was not expecting this. He really did not expect this, the girl whom he loved, the first girl whom he ever noticed was a widow, it felt like life, his destiny was playing a game, whether to see if his love for is Angel is true or not.

Priya was trying to read Maan's expression but was not able to understand anything, she looked towards Raj who also seemed to be shaken by this news.

Raj: Priya what are you saying.. Geet was married and now she is... (he could not complete his sentence).

Raj kept his hand on Maan's shoulder as this news took a while to digest for him so for Maan it must be really shocking.

Priya could not take Maan's silence anymore and she needed to clear the whole situation in front of Maan before things get worse.

Priya: Maan before you come to any conclusion please hear me out. Geet was from Hoshiarpur, where she lived with her uncle, aunty, her cousin brother Brij and his wife Pammi.

Priya: Maan, Geet was treated badly in her own home, her aunt n bhabhi would make her do all the house chores, make her starve. Her uncle and Brij just need an excuse to raise their hand on her. After the deaths of her parents in a car accident, her family members thought of her as a burden, they were going to get her married off to a 60 year old Buddha but that's when Gayatri aunty stepped in.

Maan looked confused and hurt, his Angel has suffered so much and that to by her own family.

Priya: Gayatri aunty was Geet's mothers' best friend, when she found out how those cruel people were treating Geet she took Geet away from there by saying that Geet is longer part of their family and she will become her daughter in law and marry her younger son Prem.

Priya: Prem had never gone against his mother, he knew what happened with Geet and also said yes to the relationship. In a few days their wedding preps had started, I doubt Prem and Geet had even talked before their marriage, for both of them this marriage was promise that they made to Gayatri aunty.

Maan and Raj were listening to everything Priya was saying and she continued:

Priya: Prem was part of the army, and he had to return in 4 days so the marriage was kept simple with only a few people. They got married and that same day he left for the army. Prem and Geet still had not spoken to each other.

Priya: Geet finally had found a caring and loving family. Gayatri aunty was like a mother who made sure that Geet never felt uncomfortable in their house. Prem's elder brother Rajeev was like an elder brother to Geet, a brother that Brij can never become...and Rajeev's wife Payal, whom you had seen at school, was like her Bhabhi-friend-sister.

Priya: she was slowly adjusting in their household when a month later when they received the bad news of Prem's death. He got shot whilst on the battle field.

Priya and Raj had tears flowing from their eyes and on Maan's face one could tell how hurt he is.

Priya: after a few months they decided to shift here to Delhi as Rajeev bhai transferred here, Gayatri aunty accepted Geet as a daughter and let her complete her studies as she was taken away from studies back in Hoshiarpur. That's when I and Geet met; she was a quiet and simple girl.

Priya: only when you get to know and become close you will know how talkative and bubbly she is.

Priya said with a chuckle which made Maan and Raj smile.

Priya: I wanted to know whether Geet had feelings for Prem, or like will she move on in life and marry again. She said that she does not know what love is, her marriage with Prem was to keep a promise that she made Gayatri aunty, even for Prem. She has immense respect for Prem but love was never there. And about remarriage, then she is scared about making new relationships and going into a new household.

Priya: Maan even after knowing Geet's truth, is your feeling still the same for her or has it..(she could not complete her sentence as Maan started to speak).

Maan: no Priya, my feelings for Geet have only increased and deepened. Whatever happened with Geet was not her fault, it was destiny and she truly deserves to be happy.

Maan: Priya, I promise you that if Geet decides to spend her life with me that I will always keep her happy, I won't let a single tear drop flow from her eyes. I'll give her all the happiness that she has the right on.

Priya and Raj were smiling listening to Maan, they knew Maan will live by his words and that there was no one out there for Geet better than Maan. They both were incomplete individuals only uniting them will make them complete.

Raj: Maan I have this feeling that Geet is the right girl for you and Khurana family.

Maan was smiling as he himself thought that she was perfect for him and his family, but then the smile turned into a frown.

Raj: Maan, dude what happened? You were just smiling now the sulking face now.. come on, turn that frown upside down.. (lol my lil 5 year old sister always says that, so thought I'd use it here).

Priya: haan Maan kya baat hai?

Maan: nothing, I was just thinking whether Geet will agree to remarry (he spoke quietly)

Raj: yaar don't worry, it may take time but I am sure she will say yes.

Priya: yes Maan, mushkil hai lekin naa mumkin nahi..!!!!

With this statement they all started to laugh and enjoy the snacks Priya had prepared and watched the wedding dvd, discussing what to do further. Maan was even happier than before. Priya was on top of the world, her best friend has someone who loves her pure heartedly. And Raj was like on the moon; his childhood friend who turned into a robot and only worked 24/7 has finally opened the doors of his heart and has finally selected his dream girl.
